C240 That Is All(1)

Whether it was the "Earth Firming Technique" or the "Blood Fusion Art," Woo Zhengyang found them impossible to master.

First, he hadn't chosen the preliminary techniques for either, so forcing himself to learn them now would be twice the effort for half the result. Second, one technique focused on offense and the other on defense. If mastered, they would indeed be powerful, but Zhengyang already had the Ice Crystal Fire Body, requiring him to simultaneously train in body tempering and energy cultivation. Adding two more body tempering techniques would make it extremely difficult to progress in all three.

Most importantly, Zhengyang had discussed this with Bing'er and others. According to them, techniques solely focused on attack or defense weren't the ideal path for body tempering. While these techniques might allow for faster initial progress compared to other body tempering methods, they could hinder further advancement due to their transformative effects on the body. This is especially true if the subsequent techniques needed for progression are unavailable, potentially leading to stagnation.

For Zhengyang, this risk also impacted his energy cultivation, so he dared not take the chance.

Not long after, Zhengyang emerged from the Profound Arts Pavilion, looking frustrated. He had eagerly entered the inner sect to find a suitable body tempering technique, only to realize that all his efforts were in vain. Even in the inner sect, there was no technique that suited him.

He couldn't even find a martial skill he wanted, leaving him empty-handed.

According to the steward on the second floor of the Profound Arts Pavilion, the decline of Body Tempering Techniques has made hand-to-hand combat skills somewhat obsolete, which is why these skills are found on the first floor of the pavilion.

As for Qi Refining techniques, Woo Zhengyang already has the "Sacrificial Sword to Break the Void" and the ancient sword skill "Ink Night Sword Washing Arts" from the Mystic Trace Realm, so there's no need to choose others for now.

Regarding movement techniques, the second floor of the Profound Arts Pavilion does have high-grade options, but these are meant for experts at the Shape Gathering Stage. Currently, the techniques are on par with the "Floating Light Step," so there's no need for changes.

In essence, after entering the outer sect, Woo Zhengyang has already acquired everything he can train with, making entry into the inner sect unnecessary.

However, before leaving, the steward shared an interesting piece of information with Woo Zhengyang. On the third floor of the Profound Arts Pavilion, there seems to be a very powerful Body Tempering Technique!

The third floor of the pavilion houses the Profound Heaven Sect's rare techniques and martial skills. Access to this floor is not dependent on the practitioner's level but rather on the grade of the techniques. Only techniques and skills that have reached the Profound Grade, or some ancient techniques verified by several elders to be comparable to current Profound Grade techniques, are eligible to be displayed there.

As for how disciples of the Profound Heaven Sect can enter the third floor of the Profound Arts Pavilion, there are three methods.

The first condition was a direct order from the Sect Master of the Profound Heaven Sect. The second involved a joint recommendation by three inner sect elders. The third was to become the second-ranked disciple within the inner sect.

The Number One Token of the inner sect was in Woo Zhengyang's possession, something unprecedented in the Profound Heaven Sect. Thus, the second-ranked disciple was effectively the top disciple in the inner sect.

On his way back, Woo Zhengyang pondered these three conditions. The second was out of the question. There were only a few inner sect elders, and he had already offended the Grand Elder, Zhou Lianshan, and Yue Jiuxiao. Expecting their recommendation was unrealistic; it was enough if they didn't actively work against him.

The first method was also off the table since Nie Fengyu, the Sect Master, was not present in the Profound Heaven Sect. Even if he were, the Grand Elder would likely intervene.

As for the third condition, Woo Zhengyang did have the Number One Token, a rare item within the sect. However, he believed that presenting it now would not grant him access to the Profound Arts Pavilion. Instead, it would give the Grand Elder more ammunition against him, unless Nie Fengyu was there to support him.

Therefore, Woo Zhengyang could only hope for Nie Fengyu's swift return.

After leaving the Profound Arts Pavilion, Woo Zhengyang, feeling disheartened, didn't return to his quarters. Instead, he went down the mountain to bring Uncle Fu back with him.

A day passed, and after consuming a significant amount of spirit pills, Uncle Fu was able to move around without issue. In just two more days, his injuries would fully heal, allowing him to take the Dragon Saliva Pill to treat his old ailments.

Returning to the courtyard with Uncle Fu, Woo Zhengyang sensed something was off. Just outside his courtyard, there seemed to be shadows of people lurking, likely the attendants of other inner disciples. As Woo Zhengyang approached, the onlookers seemed to perk up but made no move to greet him.

Unfazed, Woo Zhengyang continued toward his courtyard. However, as he reached the entrance, he frowned. The gate, which he had left closed, was now open. Two figures, dressed in the attire of inner disciples, stood on either side of the courtyard.

"Are you the newly appointed inner disciple, number 258, Woo Zhengyang?" one of them asked.

"The one who offended the Heavenly Martial Academy and brought trouble to the Profound Heaven Sect?" the other added, their tone unfriendly as they addressed Woo Zhengyang.
