C26 Who Do You Think You Are?(2)

"Wow, it's him! It's been several days. Could he really have completed the task?"

"What are you thinking? No way. He probably went down the mountain to celebrate getting into the outer sect, partied for a few days, and just got back."

"Let's go see how he explains himself to the task officer."

Whether they were entering or leaving the outer sect hall, most people paused what they were doing to follow Woo Zhengyang inside. The hall was usually orderly, but the arrival of Woo Zhengyang and the crowd of onlookers disrupted the usual rhythm.

All eyes were on Woo Zhengyang, sparking a wave of chatter. Being the center of attention everywhere he went made Woo Zhengyang feel a bit uneasy.

"Officer, here are the items from my task: twenty Demon Cores from Iron Armored Beasts!" Woo Zhengyang opened a bag and handed it to the task officer.

"What? He actually completed it?" The crowd, expecting a spectacle, was stunned at the sight of the twenty Demon Cores.

"That's impossible. He's only been in the sect for a few days, and as a One-star Martial Disciple without any combat skills, how could he hunt Iron Armored Beasts?"

"Exactly! Those beasts have such strong defenses; they're tough to take down!"

Everyone found it hard to believe, even the task officer was surprised. However, after inspecting the Demon Cores, he simply said, "Very well. Take the Demon Cores and the task certificate to Elder Wang Shengyuan, then come back to claim your reward!"

As he spoke, the task steward handed Woo Zhengyang a map of the Profound Heaven Sect, pointing out where Elder Wang Shengyuan could be found. Woo Zhengyang went to deliver the Demon Core, and the crowd that had gathered to watch the spectacle still hadn't dispersed. They couldn't fathom how Woo Zhengyang had completed the task.

When Woo Zhengyang's name spread throughout the outer sect, some had already investigated his background. They found nothing extraordinary, ruling out the possibility of him getting help. Besides, having someone assist with the task wouldn't have been beneficial anyway.

Then, an even more shocking piece of news arrived. This news came from an outer sect disciple of the Six-union Valley. After Woo Zhengyang took on the task and left the mountain, the three bullies of the Six-union Valley, whom he had previously offended, immediately followed him.

It wasn't explicitly stated, but everyone knew Yun Shaoqing and his group had ulterior motives. They were also aware of Yun Shaoqing and his friends' strength. Even if Woo Zhengyang completed the task, he shouldn't have returned. Yet, the reality was that Woo Zhengyang came back, having completed the task, while Yun Shaoqing and his two companions had not returned.

A bold speculation arose in many minds but was quickly dismissed. They couldn't believe Yun Shaoqing and his friends would fail to handle Woo Zhengyang. The only plausible explanation was that the two parties never encountered each other.

The task of handing over the Demon Core was completed effortlessly. Woo Zhengyang returned to the outer sect's main hall and submitted his badge. The task steward used a special method to engrave "100" on the back of the badge, representing a contribution of one hundred points.

After expressing his gratitude, Woo Zhengyang turned to leave the outer hall. As he reached the entrance, three figures walked in, two of whom he recognized: Yue Liqing and Liu Tiancheng. The third was Liu Tiancheng's brother, whom Woo Zhengyang had met once before.

"Woo Zhengyang!" Yue Liqing's eyes darkened at the sight of him. It was because of Woo that he had only just passed the outer sect assessment yesterday, and his arm injury had barely healed, allowing him to scrape through the third level of the Dao Mirror.

"Is this the guy who injured you?" Liu Tiancheng's brother sized up Woo Zhengyang and asked.

"Yes, I was caught off guard and didn't expect him to play dirty!"

"Play dirty?" Woo Zhengyang chuckled to himself. This guy was really trying to save face. But Woo couldn't be bothered to argue and continued on his way out.

"Hold on! Did I say you could leave, Mr. Last Place in the Outer Sect?" Liu Tiancheng's brother suddenly blocked Woo Zhengyang's path, a hint of anger in his voice.

"Who are you, and what do you want?" Woo Zhengyang asked, glancing at Liu Tiancheng's brother.

"Liu Tianli, seventh-ranked disciple of the outer sect! You injured fellow disciple Yue Liqing, and you owe us an explanation!" Liu Tianli couldn't help but feel a bit proud as he mentioned his rank. Being the seventh-ranked outer sect disciple was quite an honor in the Profound Heaven Sect!

"Injured? Do you even know who started it? And who do you think you are, demanding an explanation from me? Are you some kind of law enforcer? Step aside!"

The person confronting Woo Zhengyang clearly had bad intentions, but Zhengyang saw no reason to back down. He retorted without hesitation. The so-called honor the other person spoke of was just a number to Zhengyang. He had the original, never-before-seen Iron Armored Beast Number One in his possession, so why should he care about a mere imitation Number Seven?

The crowd that had gathered to watch the commotion was stunned, one by one.

They were merely curious when Woo Zhengyang completed his task, but this scene left them in shock.

Who was Liu Tianli? The seventh disciple, ranking seventh among the outer sect members. And who was Woo Zhengyang? The last among the outer sect members. These two were worlds apart, yet here they were, in conflict.

The most surprising part was that Woo Zhengyang showed no respect to Liu Tianli. That was incredibly audacious!
