C311 The Difference Between a Genius and a Genius!(2)
Under a single sword strike, Lau Piaopiao was so bewildered that she forgot to wield the white silk in her hand. Simen Buyue was even more overwhelmed; his "Chaotic Blade Technique" was nothing but chaos, and his sword was knocked away. It wasn't until Qian Banruo's long sword was pointed at his forehead that he snapped back to reality.
"Well... since Brother Banruo is like this, Brother Simen, let's leave for now!" Lau Piaopiao, having regained her senses, was pale. She had never encountered an opponent who could make her forget to attack. So, upon hearing Qian Banruo's words, her first thought was to stay far away from him!
Simen Buyue, still in a state of shock, naturally had no objections, especially since Qian Banruo's sword tip was still hovering near his forehead. He finally found an excuse to retreat.
Simen Buyue and Lau Piaopiao came and went quickly, leaving nothing behind.
Outside the Heavenly Martial Realm, their performance stirred a huge wave. Previously, spectators thought Woo Zhengyang and Moh Lunhui were all talk, but now they realized the two had extraordinary combat skills. No matter how much they tried to recall, they couldn't figure out what was so mysterious about their encounter.
Within the Heavenly Martial Realm, Lau Piaopiao and Simen Buyue left the battle zone but didn't truly depart.
By now, both of them were feeling a bit of regret. Why did they rush in so recklessly? It would have been smarter to let Qian Banruo and Woo Zhengyang fight it out and then swoop in to reap the benefits. However, on second thought, their decision to jump in wasn't entirely unreasonable. After all, the rankings in the Heavenly Martial Dao Discussing Great Association were based on points. As the competition progressed, only the strongest remained, making it increasingly difficult to earn points. They didn't have much time to waste.
Their plan was straightforward: first take down Woo Zhengyang, then catch Qian Banruo off guard and defeat him together. This wasn't the first time they'd teamed up like this. If everything went perfectly, great; if not, they could at least defeat one of them and the other would likely flee when things got dicey. After all, two people locked in a fierce battle wouldn't suddenly team up against them.
But they never expected Qian Banruo to be such an anomaly. Woo Zhengyang seemed clueless, almost as if he was waiting for defeat, yet Qian Banruo jumped in to block the attack for him. To make matters worse, Qian Banruo was incredibly powerful, defeating them both with a single move without any help from Woo Zhengyang.
Now, not only had their plan failed, but their reputations were also tarnished. Even if they managed to secure a spot among the top eight talents after this year's competition, they'd still be overshadowed by Qian Banruo.
"Are we sure about this? That guy, Banruo, is so unpredictable. What if he causes us more trouble? And even if they know we're here, will they keep fighting? If Banruo wins, we might not be able to handle him. If Zhengyang wins, he's even tougher than Banruo. We're..." Simon was still uneasy, questioning Lau Piaopiao's decision to just watch from a distance.
Lau Piaopiao kept her eyes on the direction of Woo Zhengyang and Banruo. When she heard Simon's concerns, a fleeting look of disdain crossed her face.
"Don't worry! We're far enough away to react in time. Banruo only caught us off guard before. We might get another chance. As for Woo Zhengyang... do you think he has the same tricks up his sleeve?"
"But..."
"No buts about it. Worst case, we leave the Martial Realm. If we can't regain our standing, do you think we deserve a spot among the top four talents? If you want to leave, go ahead. I'm not going anywhere!" Lau Piaopiao declared firmly.
Her tone grew increasingly dismissive of Simon's concerns, making him narrow his eyes slightly. Yet, he fell silent, focusing with Lau Piaopiao on the next moves of Woo Zhengyang and Banruo.
"You're quite an interesting person!" Woo Zhengyang glanced over at the spot where Simon and Lily were, speaking to Qian Banruo.
Qian Banruo's actions were unexpected for Woo Zhengyang. He had assumed that with Banruo's indifferent nature, he would simply bow out of the fight. To his surprise, Banruo jumped right in.
As for Banruo's combat skills, Woo Zhengyang wasn't too shocked. Having just witnessed their exchange, he could clearly sense the changes in Banruo. Each time Banruo wielded his sword, the impact on his mindset grew stronger.
If it weren't for this, Woo Zhengyang wouldn't have been so engaged in their duel, still wanting more.
"It's a shame that some moments are so hard to recreate," Banruo sighed.
Both Woo Zhengyang and Banruo understood Simon and Lily's intentions. While neither of them feared Simon and Lily, there was a slight unease in their hearts.
Moreover, their recent exchange had been spontaneous, a mutual understanding. Trying to deliberately recreate that feeling now might not work, and even if it did, the benefits would be minimal.
"Exactly! So let's wrap this up quickly. I hope we get another chance to spar properly," Woo Zhengyang said with a smile.
"Alright! I'll be waiting," Banruo nodded, his voice steady.
