C317 I Owe You an Emperor Pill!(2)
As Moh Lunhui took a step forward, he found himself right in front of Qian Banruo. Qian Banruo's sword, which had been thrust forward with great speed, suddenly seemed to slow down, almost as if startled. Moh Lunhui's body moved closer, brushing against the sword as he pointed a finger towards Qian Banruo.
Witnessing this, Woo Zhengyang felt a chill run through him. From the moment Moh Lunhui prepared to strike, Woo Zhengyang had been watching his eyes closely, trying to see if they would light up like they did during that soul attack on him. Yet, throughout the encounter, Moh Lunhui's eyes remained unremarkable, while Qian Banruo had already fallen for his trick.
It seemed that Moh Lunhui's soul attack was only visible to his opponent. Realizing this, Woo Zhengyang found himself unable to intervene. Qian Banruo was in grave danger from Moh Lunhui's finger strike. Although Moh Lunhui's technique wasn't incredibly fast—certainly slower than Woo Zhengyang's own "Silky Hair Soft Finger"—the short distance between them and Qian Banruo's frozen stance left no time for Woo Zhengyang to intervene. Qian Banruo had to rely on himself.
In the blink of an eye, Moh Lunhui's finger was less than an inch from Qian Banruo's chest. Qian Banruo's body wavered slightly as he finally snapped out of his stupor. Still in the mindset of thrusting his sword forward, he realized, to his shock, that Moh Lunhui was already right in front of him.
Qian Banruo was utterly shocked, cold sweat instantly covering her forehead and back. Just then, her crimson eyes seemed to ignite, emitting a red glow. With that glow, her body moved swiftly.
As her eyes lit up, Moh Lunhui was momentarily taken aback, but his hand didn't pause as he continued to strike with the "Reincarnation Finger." Despite unleashing immense potential at the critical moment, the distance between them was too close. Qian Banruo managed to avoid a fatal blow to her heart but was still struck on the arm holding her sword.
"Crack..."
The sound of bone breaking was accompanied by Qian Banruo's muffled groan. Then came the clang of her longsword hitting the ground. At this moment, if Moh Lunhui attacked again, Qian Banruo would be doomed. Fortunately, Moh Lunhui was principled and showed no intention of continuing his assault.
Woo Zhengyang came to Qian Banruo's side and took her arm. Moh Lunhui's precision in targeting vital points was impeccable; Qian Banruo's injury was in the exact same spot as Lau Qinghan's had been, right at the Yanggu point of the Small Intestine Meridian.
Qian Banruo's injuries were far more severe than Lau Qinghan's. Moh Lunhui's strike pierced through Qinghan's wrist, snapping the bone, which explained why he couldn't hold his sword. Fortunately, Woo Zhengyang was there; otherwise, with Qian Banruo's injuries, he wouldn't have lasted as long as Qinghan. After three days, the severed veins would close, and even if someone found a healing pill for Banruo, his arm would be useless.
"I didn't expect the gap to be this wide..." Qian Banruo murmured to himself, ignoring his own injuries despite his pale face and cold sweat.
Woo Zhengyang understood that some realizations must come from within, so he didn't waste words. Instead, he took out a jade bottle, poured a few clear pills, and handed them to Banruo.
"Wow... I didn't know you had healing pills, and top-tier ones at that! Why didn't you say so earlier? If I'd known, I would've let him off easy, and you could've given me the pills. Not that I care much for them, but they're pretty scarce right now. Such a waste, such a waste..." Moh Lunhui exclaimed, sounding like someone who rarely sees such things, yet his words didn't match his demeanor.
"Not even interested in a spirit pill? Even the folks from the Heavenly Martial Sect wouldn't dare boast like that!"
When the crowd in Heavenly Martial City heard this, they thought Moh Lunhui was just joking. But Woo Zhengyang had a feeling he was serious, though he couldn't quite explain why.
"This is a spirit pill... Mr. Zhengyang... it's too precious, I can't accept it..." Qian Banruo realized what Woo Zhengyang was offering and quickly tried to refuse.
"There's nothing too precious about it. As you progress on your martial path, a mere spirit pill will be nothing. Someday, you might return the favor with a king pill, an emperor pill, or even a sovereign pill!" Woo Zhengyang chuckled.
"Kid, just stick with me, and while I can't promise a sovereign pill, an emperor pill is definitely within reach..." Moh Lunhui chimed in.
Unfortunately, Qian Banruo and Woo Zhengyang ignored him, but Moh Lunhui didn't mind. He just kept eyeing the spirit pill in Qian Banruo's hand with envy.
"Alright! I'll remember this favor. I owe you a sovereign pill, and if I can't repay it, I'll stake my life on it!" Qian Banruo declared, pounding his chest with one hand and nodding respectfully at Woo Zhengyang before taking the pill and swallowing it in one go.
