C326 Where Did All the Points Go To?(1)
At the end of the floating bridge leading to the isolated island, there was a portal of light. To enter the island, you had to write your name on the portal and present your ID card. This would record your name and points, and your ranking would be displayed on the card.
"Hey... Woo Zhengyang... come on in!" Tang Xiaoyue called out, waving from behind the portal.
There were already forty or fifty people on the island. Hearing Tang Xiaoyue's call, everyone turned their attention to see the infamous Woo Zhengyang, whose reputation had recently become quite well-known. Naturally, they were curious about his ranking.
"Wow... he's actually walking with Qian Banruo!" someone exclaimed in surprise.
"He's not as much of a lone wolf as I thought. I figured he'd be too proud to team up with anyone," someone else remarked, a bit enviously.
"Come on, you're just worried about losing your ninth place. Even without them, how long do you think you could hold onto it?" a fellow participant teased.
"Man, I rushed over here hoping to make a splash on the Ranking Tower while it was still quiet, but I barely got settled before I might have to leave," the envious one grumbled.
"Do you think Zhan Bugui's spot will be taken by them?"
"Who knows? But with Woo Zhengyang and Qian Banruo teaming up, even if they don't snag first and second, they're sure to be in the top five."
Hearing Tang Xiaoyue's shout, Woo Zhengyang felt another headache coming on and gestured for Qian Banruo to go ahead while he took a moment to compose himself.
"This isn't some romantic mess you've gotten yourself into, is it?" Qian Banruo chuckled.
"Don't talk to me. I need some peace and quiet."
"Oh... so you like someone named Quiet..."
Qian Banruo rarely made jokes, but this one only earned her a raised eyebrow from Woo Zhengyang. With a laugh, Qian Banruo waved her hand and wrote her name on the light curtain, then pressed her number card against it.
As the card touched the light curtain, Qian Banruo didn't move her feet, yet she appeared on the other side of the curtain. Once she entered the isolated area, everyone instinctively looked at the Ranking Tower.
Zhan Bugui's name was still far ahead in first place. Second, third... all the way to fifth, Qian Banruo's name was nowhere to be seen. Finally, at the very bottom of the Ranking Tower, people saw Qian Banruo's name and score.
Qian Banruo, tenth place, five points!
Even though the ninth through sixth places also had five points, Qian Banruo's score and ranking were still a big surprise to everyone. Even the person who had been feeling competitive was a bit taken aback that Qian Banruo's score matched theirs.
One of the four great talents, Zhan Bugui, only ranked tenth. This was something that hadn't happened in recent years.
"How could this happen?"
"Could most of the points be with Woo Zhengyang?"
Everyone was puzzled.
When Woo Zhengyang slowly wrote down his name and entered the isolated island, they were stunned again. The notorious Woo Zhengyang wasn't even on the list, ranking lower than Qian Banruo.
Speculation ran wild. Some said Woo Zhengyang was all talk, others thought they must have been delayed by something, and some believed they simply didn't care much, given the final showdown was yet to come.
Meanwhile, Woo Zhengyang was bombarded with questions from Tang Xiaoyue.
"How did you defeat Yelv Qingyin? Is he dead?"
"Did you encounter any other geniuses? Who did you meet and how did it go?"
"Did you face your rival Moh Lunhui? Who won? Will Moh Lunhui show up on this island?"
The barrage of questions left Woo Zhengyang overwhelmed.
Just as Woo Zhengyang was unsure where to start, Fu Chuan came over.
Woo Zhengyang introduced everyone. Qian Banruo knew them, but Fu Chuan and Tang Xiaoyue were strangers to each other.
Upon hearing Tang Xiaoyue's name, both Fu Chuan and Qian Banruo instinctively glanced at the Ranking Tower, surprised. Even though the current rankings were temporary, earning six points was no small feat, and they hadn't noticed someone like that before.
Woo Zhengyang was equally puzzled by this, but later they learned the reason behind it.
You have to admit, Tang Xiaoyue was quite lucky. According to her, she owed her luck to Woo Zhengyang. While Woo Zhengyang was facing off against Yelv Qingyin, Tang Xiaoyue also encountered an opponent, a disciple from the Dance Sect.
Given Tang Xiaoyue's combat skills at the time, she was among the least formidable participants in the Heavenly Martial Dao Discussing Great Association. She didn't have high hopes, but luck was on her side. The Dance Sect disciple she faced had a similar level of skill.
It's rare to find an evenly matched opponent, and the two were locked in a stalemate for a good half-hour without a clear winner. Eventually, realizing neither could best the other, they decided to call it quits and went their separate ways.
After this peculiar battle, Tang Xiaoyue couldn't stop thinking about Woo Zhengyang, who was just across the river. She went back to look for him but never saw him again.
