C367 (2)

Initially, everyone was feeling down due to the lack of prey, but upon hearing the news, they perked up as if fueled by adrenaline. Those not affiliated with the three sects of the Fallen Sun Country became even more reckless when they realized the mysterious assassin was targeting only the sect members. Unfortunately, they were in for another shock.

The death toll began to rise exponentially, no longer limited to the sects of the Fallen Sun Country. It dawned on people that the mysterious assassin initially spared others not out of laziness, but to use them to spread the word. However, once pushed to the edge, the assassin showed no mercy, regardless of who stood in the way.

By evening, the death count had soared past four hundred. While the town wasn't completely drenched in blood, signs of death and bloodstains were everywhere, making everyone hesitant to venture out. Yet, the three sects of the Fallen Sun Country were not about to back down. They were here to confront the Profound Heaven Sect, and retreating because of a mysterious assassin or a meddling group would be a blow to their pride and leadership.

The next day, all the top fighters from the three sects, those at the Shape Gathering Stage and above, were mobilized. Woo Zhengyang had been meticulously preparing for this moment. He had carefully chosen the location and set up an illusion array, ready for action. The first to step into the array were a few outer elders from the Fallen Sun Sect.

Although they were cautious, they didn't understand the intricacies of the illusion array. They walked right into the center without noticing anything unusual. It wasn't until Woo Zhengyang triggered the array that they were jolted awake, but by then, it was too late, and they began to turn on each other.

Woo Zhengyang quietly entered the array, taking advantage of the chaos to claim their lives, sparing only the one with the highest skills. Eventually, even the most skilled among them fell. They were merely outer sect elders and knew little of the inner workings, providing Woo Zhengyang with no valuable information.

Once the illusion array was lifted, their bodies became visible to the outside world, quickly drawing others into the trap. He would activate the array, ambush, and leave the most skilled alive for questioning. Woo Zhengyang repeated this process, changing his approach several times, but with little success.

Under the blazing midday sun, Woo Zhengyang finally caught a big fish: Lo Mingzhi, the Grand Elder of the Fallen Sun Sect. On the day the No Life Patriarch's abode opened, the sect master Wong Jinghai was absent, leaving Lo Mingzhi to lead the sect's members.

Back then, Woo Zhengyang and Loong Zhiwu, disguised as students of the Heavenly Martial Academy, broke the array and opened the door to the No Life Patriarch's abode, leaving Lo Mingzhi and his group fuming as they slipped inside. Later, in No Life City, Lo Mingzhi attempted to kill Woo Zhengyang on sight. However, after being reminded of Woo Zhengyang's profound skills in array techniques, he tried to recruit him with threats and persuasion but ultimately failed.

When Lo Mingzhi appeared, Woo Zhengyang felt a surge of joy. Within the Fallen Sun Sect, aside from the Sect Master and the Grand Elder, Lo Mingzhi held the highest position. Woo Zhengyang was certain that Lo Mingzhi knew everything he wanted to find out.

Lo Mingzhi was alone, and his advanced Shape Gathering Stage skills gave him immense confidence. Woo Zhengyang's mastery of array formations was at a grandmaster level, comparable to the Reality Condensing Stage in martial arts. Defeating Lo Mingzhi should have been easy, but reality proved otherwise.

The art of array formations had become quite neglected. Woo Zhengyang's array flags were a mix of gold and red, cobbled together from various sources. The red flags were of inferior quality, while the gold triangular flags, though of a higher grade, were still at the lowest treasure level, akin to basic magical artifacts.

While these flags were sufficient against ordinary Shape Gathering Stage practitioners, they were barely adequate against a master like Lo Mingzhi. Therefore, Woo Zhengyang prepared meticulously, concealing all his array flags. Besides setting up an illusion array, he also arranged a sound-dampening array over a larger area. This way, even if Lo Mingzhi broke through the illusion, he wouldn't alert others.

Lo Mingzhi suppressed his power, moving slowly and deliberately, clearly trying to lure someone into action. This suggested they were unsure of who was targeting them. If they knew it was Woo Zhengyang, Lo Mingzhi wouldn't have needed such caution.

Woo Zhengyang was holding his breath, hidden in the corner, as Lo Mingzhi approached the edge of the array. Success or failure hinged on this moment. But just as Lo Mingzhi was about to step into the array's range, he suddenly stopped, leaving Woo Zhengyang in suspense, unable to exhale.

While Woo Zhengyang was growing increasingly anxious, a shadowy figure seemed to materialize out of nowhere, emerging from a dark corner. The sight of this figure shocked Woo Zhengyang. He had been setting up the array for quite some time and hadn’t noticed anyone approaching.

"Could he have been here since I started setting up the array?" The thought sent chills down Woo Zhengyang's spine. If that were true, he feared that experts from the three sects might have already surrounded him.
