C394 Fallen Sun Tower Upper(2)
Midway through his journey, Woo Zhengyang once again received advice from Huo'er: capture a steward from the Fallen Sun Sect to extract information about their layout.
In the Fallen Sun Sect, there are no separate pavilions for arts or contribution halls. All the sect's manuals, elixirs, treasures, and years of accumulated wealth are stored in the Treasure Pavilion. This pavilion is located at the heart of the sect, on Sunset Peak, considered the sect's sacred ground.
Unlike the outer sect, the inner sect members of the Fallen Sun Sect reacted swiftly. Upon discovering Woo Zhengyang and his group within their ranks, many raised alarms, while others attempted to stop them. Those who tried to raise the alarm were ignored by Zhengyang, and those who tried to block him fell to his sword.
The stewards and disciples, at most, were at the peak of the Reality Condensing Stage, posing no real challenge to Woo Zhengyang. His progress remained unhindered, slicing through them with ease.
Finally, Sunset Peak came into view. It was the tallest peak of the Fallen Sun Sect, yet from a distance, it appeared as if no mountain existed. Instead, a series of magnificent palaces covered the entire peak, resembling a massive fortress built from palaces. At the highest point of these palaces stood a dazzling seven-story white jade tower. At its pinnacle, a fiery red gem shone brilliantly, casting a crimson glow over the nearby peaks, reminiscent of a sunset painting the sky in shades of red.
"The glowing white jade tower seems like quite a treasure!" Huo'er exclaimed, eyes gleaming at the sight of the small tower.
Before Woo Zhengyang could respond, five figures soared into the air, blocking his path.
"Woo Zhengyang, you've got some nerve causing trouble here at the Fallen Sun Sect!" the leader, an elderly man with white hair, shouted.
Woo Zhengyang remained silent, raising his hand to unleash a sword strike.
An icy blue sword light shot skyward, causing the five individuals to blanch. They had heard that Woo Zhengyang and four women had stormed the gates, taking down the Third Elder and advancing toward the Fallen Sun Peak, prompting their hasty arrival.
Unaware of the specifics, they initially assumed Woo Zhengyang had four powerful allies aiding him in defeating the Third Elder. However, witnessing Woo Zhengyang's sword strike, they realized their mistake.
Such a concentrated sword light, spanning over thirty feet, was beyond the capability of even the peak of the Shape Gathering Stage. Could this young man be a master at the Reality Condensing Stage? It was hard to accept.
Now wasn't the time to dwell on it. Faced with Woo Zhengyang's sword strike, the five simultaneously brandished their weapons to block it.
"Boom... Boom... Boom..."
Their attacks collided with the sword light, and they were all sent flying by the force of the impact. Though the sword light dimmed slightly, it did not dissipate, slicing into the ground below.
“Boom…”
The mountain beneath their feet shook violently, as if an earthquake had struck. A trench, stretching over a hundred feet long and nearly ten feet deep, appeared where the sword light had fallen.
Witnessing this, the five were shocked.
This was undoubtedly the power of an expert at the Reality Condensing Stage, and not just any ordinary one!
“Elders, be careful! Woo Zhengyang claims he has also killed the Grand Elder and the Sect Master!” A hurried figure rushed in from behind, announcing.
It seemed he was the messenger who had heard Huo'er’s words at the inner gate. However, before he could fully relay the message, the elders had already arrived.
No one could remain calm upon hearing that a young upstart was attacking Sunset Peak. They were used to being above it all, rarely feeling threatened, especially by someone so young.
Upon hearing the latest news from the messenger, two of them immediately looked regretful, silently cursing their rashness. If they had known Woo Zhengyang had killed the Grand Elder, they would have fled immediately. Who would stick around to die?
“To Sunset Peak, activate the mountain protection array!” one of the five commanded, quickly retreating. The other four followed suit, while the messenger had already vanished after shouting his warning from a distance.
Mountain Protecting Array?
From what Woo Zhengyang knew, a typical mountain protecting array could at most fend off practitioners at the Shape Gathering Stage. Without experts at the Reality Condensing Stage, a sect would quickly decline.
Now that Woo Zhengyang had already breached the inner gate, activating the mountain protecting array would be futile, merely trapping him like a fish in a barrel. Realizing this, Woo Zhengyang understood that their version of the mountain protecting array must differ from his expectations, so he swiftly pursued them.
Unfortunately, he was still a step too late.
The relationship between Woo Zhengyang and the four women was inherently incompatible. When Woo Zhengyang was at full strength, the four women's energy was entirely dedicated to maintaining the array within the Ice Crystal Fire Hall, leaving them with no cultivation power. Conversely, when the four women regained their cultivation, Woo Zhengyang's strength would also return to normal, meaning their speeds were never in sync.
The fastest they could move was with the four women carrying Woo Zhengyang. Even though the women were exceptionally powerful, carrying someone still slowed them down. As a result, they failed to stop the five elders of the Fallen Sun Sect from entering the white jade tower.
