C414 Rice

The rain continued to fall, steady and unchanging. Strangely, despite the persistent downpour, the ground showed no signs of pooling water or even a hint of mud. During a break, Woo Zhengyang noticed this unusual phenomenon. The rain seemed to be absorbed directly into the earth, leaving no trace behind.

This bizarre world was unlike anything Woo Zhengyang had ever heard of. Reluctant to disturb Bing'er and the other three women unless absolutely necessary, he was nonetheless unsettled by the strangeness of this place and the uncertainty of what lay ahead. Exhausted both physically and mentally, he finally decided to consult them.

Upon hearing Woo Zhengyang's concerns, the four women quickly emerged from the Ice Crystal Fire Hall. Unfortunately, they were just as baffled by his experiences, having never encountered such a peculiar world themselves. In the end, Woo Zhengyang sent them back to the hall and resumed his journey alone. He needed to figure out where he was and how to return to the Profound Heaven Sect.

Three more days passed. As night fell, the already gloomy sky turned pitch black. Even with the enhanced vision of a cultivator, Woo Zhengyang struggled to adjust to the absolute darkness. Yet, he pressed on without pause.

The aimless wandering had begun to wear on him. Normally calm and composed, Woo Zhengyang felt a growing sense of urgency. It was as if he had stumbled into a desolate wasteland, a world where he was the sole inhabitant. The isolation and melancholy were especially suffocating in the dark of night.

“Ah...”

Woo Zhengyang let out a long, frustrated yell towards the sky, trying to release the tension in his heart. For the past couple of days, even the demonic beasts had become scarce. Sometimes, Woo Zhengyang almost wished a beast would appear just to break the monotony.

This time, Woo Zhengyang was in luck. After his shout, he actually heard the sound of something cutting through the air. However, it wasn’t coming from any direction on the ground; it was coming from above.

“Whoa... whoa...”

Just as Woo Zhengyang looked up, he saw a shadow descending from the sky, screeching as it rushed toward him. Instinctively, Woo Zhengyang prepared to swing his sword, but when he realized the shadow was just a small child, he managed to stop himself just in time.

He halted the sword, but he couldn’t avoid the impact.

“Thud...”

Woo Zhengyang felt everything go dark as the shadow hit him squarely.

“Ugh, you scared me! What are you yelling about in the middle of the night?”

A young voice complained right next to his ear. Woo Zhengyang lifted his head to see a little girl, about five or six years old, with a face as delicate as a porcelain doll, glaring at him angrily.

What left Woo Zhengyang speechless was that this little girl was sitting on his shoulders, using her hands to pinch his ears for balance.

“Little girl, where am I?” Finally encountering another person, even if it was just a small child, gave Woo Zhengyang a sense of relief. At least it proved he wasn’t alone in this world.

Woo Zhengyang reached out, trying to lift the little girl off his shoulders. The girl, still shaken, clung tightly with her legs wrapped around his neck, refusing to let go.

"How should I know where this is? Help me find Little Feifei!"

"Little Feifei?"

"That's right! Your yelling scared both me and Little Feifei to death. Help me find him, please."

As she spoke, the girl shifted her position, turning around to sit astride Woo Zhengyang's shoulders. It seemed she wasn't planning to come down until Little Feifei was found...

...

The gentle rain continued to fall tirelessly as Woo Zhengyang sat on a stone mill, staring blankly into the drizzle. It had been over ten days since he inexplicably arrived in this strange world, and he was still struggling to adjust.

He was in a place called Great Leaf Village. That night, after he let out a long cry to the sky, a little girl had descended from above, finally giving him a glimpse of another human. Following her, he ended up in this village.

Over time, Woo Zhengyang had begun to understand this peculiar world. It was largely similar to the one he knew, yet there were two aspects that were completely different.

First, there's the ever-present drizzle. In this world, there's no clear sky or sun, just this strange rain, constantly falling. No one can explain why the rain so quickly seeps into the ground, nor does anyone care to. To the people here, it's just the way things are supposed to be.

Second, there's the practice of martial arts. Much like in Woo Zhengyang's previous world, where body strengthening had fallen out of favor, the martial arts training system here is also incomplete. However, unlike before, there are only Body Tempering cultivators here, with no sign of those who cultivate their energy. Woo Zhengyang suspects that his own blocked meridians might be related to this.

"Hey... hey... here comes little Rice... ah... Mr. Zhengyang, catch me!" A familiar shout rang out. Woo Zhengyang quickly turned towards the sound and saw a figure falling from the sky. Without hesitation, he leaped forward, running towards the falling figure. Even though he couldn't use his Sword-shaped Genuine Qi, the speed he achieved with the power of his blood and the Floating Light Step was impressive. He soon reached his destination and opened his arms.

In the next moment, the small figure landed in Woo Zhengyang's embrace and skillfully climbed onto his shoulders. From her practiced movements, it was clear she was the little girl Woo Zhengyang had knocked down from the sky that night.

The little girl, who is five years old, is named Millie.

"Mr. Zhengyang, Little Fei Fei..." Millie, perched on Woo Zhengyang's back, habitually pinched his ear with one hand while pointing to a corner of the yard with the other.

Originally, Woo Zhengyang had the No Life Sword strapped to his back, but because Millie often climbed onto him, he had to hang it at his waist temporarily.

With a helpless smile, Woo Zhengyang carried Millie to the spot she indicated. On the ground lay a willow wood sword.

This willow wood sword was what Millie referred to as Little Fei Fei.

Don't underestimate this willow wood sword. Though it isn't sharp or particularly sturdy, it's made from a special kind of spiritual wood known as Drooping Cloud Willow.

The spiritual wood is quite remarkable, capable of perfectly channeling the energy of heaven and earth, true energy, or even the force of blood-transformed astral energy. This willow wood sword is a spiritual flying sword, which is why Millie calls it Little Fei Fei.

In this world, flying with a sword is a normal practice for martial cultivators. In the previous world, however, the art of sword flight had been lost for countless years...
