C430 The Baldy

In the Thousand-village Martial Competition, the most intense and captivating part is naturally the battle for the top ten spots. While the points in later stages are crucial, the points from the first stage are equally important. Often, the scores from the first stage can influence the rankings of the top ten villages. Blue Jewel Village wouldn't waste the opportunity for a single village like Great Leaf Village, so they resort to offering incentives to villages that have no chance of competing for points.

As expected, as some people slowly approached Woo Zhengyang and his group, those from Blue Jewel Village also moved closer to the Old Village Chief and Sun Li from Great Leaf Village. Their goal was to eliminate Woo Zhengyang and his team, naturally wanting to prevent any interference from the Old Village Chief and his group.

Despite everything, the Old Village Chief and Sun Li remained calm and composed, though what they truly felt inside was known only to them.

In the Green Sun Forest, when some people blocked their path, Woo Zhengyang wasn't surprised. Ye Fengchun had already made a public threat and wasn't going to back down. However, what Woo Zhengyang didn't expect was Ye Fengchun's level of caution—deploying over thirty people to deal with the small group from Great Leaf Village.

On reflection, it made sense. The deeper you go into Green Sun Forest, the more dangerous it becomes. Even a whole village would struggle to look after themselves. If trapped, they would have to rely on those above to rescue them, which would mean failing the challenge.

These thirty or so people, with the strongest among them being only mid-level martial artists, relied entirely on luck and chance to make it through the Greenwood Forest. They figured they might as well take on Great Leaf Village, hoping to gain some benefits from Blue Jewel Village.

"Are you Woo Zhengyang? The guy who doesn't know his limits?" a knife-wielding teenager asked, signaling others to surround Woo Zhengyang and his group, clearly not intending to let any of them go.

"Do you know how high the sky is or how thick the earth is? Enlighten me!" Woo Zhengyang retorted, catching the teenager off guard. The teenager scoffed, "You sure talk big. Let's see if your skills match your mouth!"

"Oh, they're impressive, alright. Otherwise, I wouldn't have turned Ye Fengchun into Bald Ye..." At this, the crowd below remained calm, but Ye Fengchun nearly fell off his flying sword in anger.

"So, I advise you all not to mess with us, or you'll end up bald too!" Woo Zhengyang continued.

"Big talk for someone who doesn't know his limits!" the teenager wanted to say, but remembering Woo Zhengyang's jibe, he changed his words at the last moment.

"Forget it, one bald head is ugly enough. One Ye Fengchun is plenty. Besides, when the heavenly fire strikes, you won't have Ye's resilience and will just get burned to a crisp, so I won't bother."

Woo Zhengyang's repeated jabs about baldness left Ye Fengchun fuming. The most frustrating part for Ye was that during the Thousand-village Martial Competition, he couldn't retaliate against Woo Zhengyang's taunts from below, a frustration he had never experienced before.

Upon hearing Woo Zhengyang's words, the thirty or so young men showed a slight change in expression. When they accepted this task, they only thought about dealing with the folks from Great Leaf Village, forgetting about Woo Zhengyang's peculiar nature.

That day in Greenfield Town, the mysterious fire from the sky was still a puzzle, just as Woo Zhengyang mentioned. Could they withstand it?

Fortunately, Woo Zhengyang claimed he wouldn't intervene, which allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief. However, they secretly decided that if things went south, they'd make a quick escape. After all, losing a bit of hair was minor compared to losing their lives here.

"You're really not going to step in?" the knife-wielding youth asked, still a bit uncertain.

"Do I need to lift a finger to deal with you all?"

"Let's see if you can keep your word!" the knife-wielding youth said, making the first move and charging toward Liu Dahu and the others.

The rest shared the same thought. Woo Zhengyang was a bit of an enigma, so since he wasn't getting involved, they decided to take care of the others first.

The group of thirty quickly closed ranks, tightening the battle circle to a specific range.

Amidst all this, Woo Zhengyang stood firm with Rice on his back, while Liu Dahu and his companions glanced at Woo Zhengyang with some tension.

"It's up to you now!" Woo Zhengyang told Liu Dahu and his group of five.

The onlookers were once again speechless, wondering what Woo Zhengyang was really up to. Initially, everyone thought they were just giving up, but even when surrounded by over thirty people, they showed no intention of backing down, displaying a surprising calmness.

After Woo Zhengyang made some bold claims, everyone thought he had some mysterious tricks up his sleeve. But to everyone's surprise, he just stepped back and decided not to fight. With the only wildcard out of the picture, how could the remaining five teenagers from Great Leaf Village withstand an attack from over thirty opponents?

While everyone was puzzled, the thirty-plus challengers had already rushed up to the seven from Great Leaf Village. At that moment, Liu Dahu and his four companions sprang into action, all moving simultaneously. Their movements weren't perfectly synchronized; in fact, they were quite different. Yet, to the onlookers, it seemed as if there was an inexplicable connection between the five.

"Bang..."

The blade of a knife-wielding teenager clashed with Liu Dahu's knife. Both were at the mid-level of the Skin Stage, so the clash should have been evenly matched. However, the crowd witnessed something unbelievable: the knife-wielding teenager was sent flying by Liu Dahu.

He flew back, spitting blood, and crashed into a tree. The unluckiest part was that as he hit the tree trunk, a vine suddenly wrapped around him, suspending him in mid-air. More vines quickly followed, wrapping him up tightly.

The sudden turn of events left the spectators wide-eyed in shock.

Before anyone could react, two more people were sent flying. Meanwhile, another person was even more unfortunate. He was initially targeting Rice, but somehow, his sword missed, and Rice's spear pierced his heart. In an instant, three people were knocked back, one fatally wounded, and the fighting prowess of the five from Great Leaf Village left everyone stunned.

But the situation didn't end there. The five, who were initially a bit flustered, gained confidence after the first clash, attacking with increased speed and ferocity. In just a few breaths, over ten people were sent flying, and three were killed.

At this point, the remaining dozen or so finally realized what was happening. They didn't understand why Liu Dahu and his group were so fierce, but they knew they couldn't handle them. By now, retreating was no longer an option. Liu Dahu and his team kept weaving through them, launching wave after wave of relentless attacks. If they didn't fight back, they faced certain death; resisting offered a sliver of hope.

Another few breaths passed, and the battle concluded. Over thirty lay dead or injured, while Liu Dahu and his four companions, covered in blood but still standing, seemed to have more fight in them. As for Woo Zhengyang, he watched the spectacle with Rice, only intervening with a slap to deflect anyone who was hurled their way.

Silence enveloped the area where Woo Zhengyang and his companions stood, and the spectators above were even quieter. No one could have predicted that the battle would end so swiftly, and with such an unexpected outcome!
