C433 Early Morning Flower(2)
After the seven from Great Leaf Village made their choice, the folks from Blue Jewel Village sprang into action. As expected, Ye Fengchun completely ignored his previous statements and sent the strongest dozen from Blue Jewel Village to Woo Zhengyang's arena, while the rest spread out to other arenas, looking for opportunities.
The decisions by Great Leaf Village and Blue Jewel Village puzzled many, but delighted those villages that were still on the fence. When two strong contenders clash, one is bound to get hurt. Even if Great Leaf Village isn't a tiger, they at least have the enigmatic Woo Zhengyang. When they face off, other villages might find a chance. Even if they can't make it into the top hundred, they might last longer than in other one-sided arenas.
So, when everyone had made their choices, Woo Zhengyang's arena became the most crowded and watched among the ten. Woo estimated that about 1,500 people made it to the second round, with around 300 at his arena alone.
Fortunately, the specially built open-air arena was spacious enough. Even with 300 people, it didn't feel cramped. Woo, carrying Rice, and Liu Dahu headed straight to a corner. Choosing a corner had its pros and cons; it was easier to protect others but also made it easier to be knocked out of the arena.
Woo Zhengyang had no choice but to select this spot. Rice was just there to make up the numbers, and Woo Zhengyang needed to protect her. His entire advancement plan was easier to execute from the corner.
As the people on the ten arenas took their positions, the steward of Azure Sun Martial Mansion announced the start of the second trial.
In an instant, the arenas erupted into chaos. Blades clashed and energy surged, with some participants being blasted away and others meeting a grim fate before they could even surrender.
However, on Woo Zhengyang's platform, two areas stood out from the surrounding battles. One was the corner where Woo Zhengyang and his group of seven were stationed, and the other was the area occupied by over a dozen people from Blue Jewel Village.
In the corner, Rice stood in the center, holding a cotton candy and occasionally taking a bite. Liu Dahu and four others formed a protective formation around her.
While five people couldn't handle one opponent in a fight, simply maintaining a defensive formation was no issue. Woo Zhengyang's strategy was straightforward: ensure they never had to engage.
"Interesting plan, but you're overestimating yourself!" the purple-robed youth remarked, leading his group from Blue Jewel Village to confront Woo Zhengyang.
Upon closer inspection, Woo Zhengyang noticed the youth bore a striking resemblance to Ye Fengchun and couldn't help but tease, "Are you Ye Baldy's son?"
"Is he... or isn't he... a jerk... you're the bald one..." The young man in the purple robe clearly wasn't as skilled with words as Woo Zhengyang and quickly fell into his trap.
"Bald, huh? Well, even if you're his son, I never said you were a little baldy!"
"You're asking for it!" The young man in the purple robe had no intention of continuing the verbal sparring with Woo Zhengyang. Instead, he pulled out a long sword from his Hidden Heaven Bag and lunged at Woo Zhengyang.
Having a Hidden Heaven Bag at such a young age showed the significant gap between Blue Jewel Village and Great Leaf Village. Even the sword in the young man's hand was no ordinary weapon, at least a top-tier treasure.
Top-tier treasures were incredibly rare in this world, but for Woo Zhengyang, who wielded a King Rank weapon, even a spiritual weapon wasn't much of a concern.
As the young man in the purple robe thrust his sword, Woo Zhengyang didn't even glance at it, reaching out with his hand instead.
Everyone watching was stunned.
This guy said Ye Fengchun wasn't too bright, but maybe it's his own head that's not working right!
Facing a strike from a Peak Martial Master, he didn't dodge or use a weapon, just reached out with his hand?
Body Tempering cultivators were indeed strong, but not to this extent. Otherwise, why would they need weapons? Did this kid really think he was a Martial King with a King's body?
Even the Old Village Chief and Sun Li from Great Leaf Village were shocked at Woo Zhengyang's audacity, but it was too late to warn him.
In a flash, Woo Zhengyang's hand met the sword of the purple-robed youth.
"Squeak..."
A strange sound echoed, leaving everyone dumbfounded. The youth's sword had passed through Woo Zhengyang's tightly clenched hand. Yet, his hand remained unscathed, while the youth's treasured sword had its blade ground away by Woo Zhengyang's palm.
Witnessing this, the purple-robed youth was shocked and quickly pulled back his beloved sword. Woo Zhengyang's hand, however, held firm.
The strange sound echoed again as the youth finally managed to retrieve his cherished sword. By then, the tip of the sword had been worn down to a slender rod.
As Woo Zhengyang released his grip, a layer of iron filings flew from his hand, washed clean by the gentle rain.
In their first encounter, even though it was merely a test, the youth's prized sword had been ruined by Woo Zhengyang's bare hands. The purple-robed youth looked at his now misshapen sword, then at Woo Zhengyang, who wore a slight smile, his face filled with terror.
What on earth just happened?
