C489 Meeting
Just after his encounter with Yuv Qingrong, Woo Zhengyang realized he had underestimated the situation. He still didn't fully grasp this world. Back in Great Leaf Village, he only knew this place was quite underdeveloped, with martial arts techniques being scarce. However, he never imagined that within the Azure Sun Martial Mansion, there would be a hidden depth. While martial arts techniques might not be abundant, they weren't as rare as he initially thought. It was just that they never intended to share them with the outside world.
In the realm of the Azure Sun Martial Mansion, Woo Zhengyang believed he had gained considerable insight into this peculiar world. Yet, this journey turned out to be another eye-opening experience. Whether it was the more mysterious Heavenly Mirror Pavilion or the distinctly different Moon Light Martial Mansion, everything was novel to Woo Zhengyang, requiring further understanding.
Initially, Woo Zhengyang was confident when facing Yuv Qingrong. In his view, as long as a Body Tempering cultivator had enough strength, they could handle anything. Woo Zhengyang possessed the "Dragon Countering Nine Steps," which effectively amplified his strength, and the flawless "Spear, Sword, and Blade Array" in collaboration with Rice, making him feel well-prepared to tackle the Inner Stage. However, during his first encounter, he faced unexpected challenges.
Yuv Qingrong's martial technique, known as the "Dance of Moonlight," just by its name, seemed out of place in this world of constant drizzle.
Moreover, its power far exceeds ordinary martial skills. Thanks to the unique environment of the gravity room, Woo Zhengyang's martial will was refined once again, reaching the Great Completion Stage. Otherwise, even if he could have blocked Yuv Qingrong's sword, it would have been a messy affair.
Even so, Woo Zhengyang had to reveal one of his hidden cards, and whether this would be a blessing or a curse remained unknown. As a result, his carefully laid plans for entering the Heavenly Mirror Pavilion were disrupted.
"Is my luck really this bad?" Woo Zhengyang wondered, recalling how things had been just as challenging when he entered the Azure Sun Martial Mansion. Now, it seemed like his luck had taken another downturn.
"No, it's probably because I'm overthinking it!" A moment of clarity flashed through Woo Zhengyang's mind. Whether he wanted to enter the Azure Sun Martial Mansion or the Heavenly Mirror Pavilion, his goal was to quickly acquire a Body Tempering Technique and find a way back to his original world.
Though he appeared concerned, Woo Zhengyang was unconsciously putting pressure on himself. This made many things seem forced, like a person's life suddenly leaping forward. When you skip over a period of time, things naturally don't connect well, leading to chaos.
Woo Zhengyang's situation was like making a quick leap without fully understanding this world. It was a bold move; if successful, his plan would work, and he'd return to his original world. If not, he might not only fail to return but also struggle to survive in this world, facing dire consequences.
Things had reached this point, and it was a bit late to have any second thoughts. Woo Zhengyang had no intention of turning back.
Since that was the case, he decided to keep moving forward without hesitation. However, before doing so, he needed to thoroughly understand this world to avoid any more mistakes.
"The path taken by the Moon Light Martial Mansion is clearly different from that of the Azure Sun Martial Mansion. Judging by the previous world's rules, the people of Moon Light Martial Mansion likely pursue ultimate offense. So, what about the Sea Heart Martial Palace? How do they differ from the other Martial Mansions? And then there's the Heavenly Mirror Pavilion, which requires a more detailed understanding."
With these thoughts, Woo Zhengyang turned his attention to the Zhan brothers...
In the mist, Woo Zhengyang was gathering information about the Heavenly Mirror Pavilion and the other two Martial Mansions while searching for the Bewilderment Dragon Stream.
Going deeper based on the strength of demonic beasts was a clumsy approach, as their positions weren't fixed, and there was no guarantee of encountering one at regular intervals.
Woo Zhengyang and his group had been fighting through the night, yet they still hadn't found any trace of the Bewilderment Dragon Stream.
During this time, they had made some small gains, mostly demon cores, along with a few rare flowers and herbs. Along the way, they encountered many people, including disciples from other Martial Mansions and village youths sent by various mansions. Fortunately, no further conflicts arose.
After Zhan Yifei, Zhan Yinuo, and Rice took down another demonic beast, they looked disappointed. The beasts they encountered were getting weaker, which meant they had unknowingly retraced their steps.
"Isn't there another way?" Woo Zhengyang asked, feeling that this method was indeed quite clumsy.
"No, they say this place is designed to test your resolve. Unless your skills are extraordinary, far beyond those who set this up, you just have to keep exploring," Zhan Yinuo replied with a wry smile.
As night passed, the mist returned to its original state, significantly reducing their visibility. After walking a bit further, the mist suddenly thinned out considerably.
Zhan Yifei and Zhan Yinuo exchanged a glance and broke into smiles. Rice, not understanding, joined in their laughter.
"What's up? Are we close to Bewilderment Dragon Stream?" Woo Zhengyang asked.
"That's right. The closer we get, the thinner the mist becomes."
Finally seeing hope, the long-standing gloom lifted, and the four of them hurried forward. Before long, a massive mountain loomed before them.
"We're here!" Zhan Yinuo exclaimed excitedly, rushing toward the mountain's peak.
"Is this Bewilderment Dragon Stream? Shouldn't it be a ravine?" Woo Zhengyang asked, puzzled.
"Hehe, you'll see soon enough!" Zhan Yifei chuckled, as usual, enjoying keeping a secret.
Woo Zhengyang shrugged and followed along with Rice on his back. The mountain peak was about 330 feet high and extremely steep, with no stairs and no way to fly up. Climbing it was no easy task.
After about half an hour, the four of them finally reached the top of the peak. To their surprise, three people were already there: Liu Xiangdong, Yu Xiaoshui, and Liu Dahu.
“What are you guys doing here?” Woo Zhengyang asked, puzzled.
“We entered the Misty Mountain Range and kept moving forward. We ended up chasing a demonic beast and found ourselves here. We discovered that we could restore our energy here, so we decided to rest a bit,” Liu Xiangdong explained.
The inability to restore energy was due to the surrounding mist, but the mist was much lighter on the peak, allowing for slow recovery.
“How long have you been here?” Zhan Yifei asked.
Yu Xiaoshui scratched his head and replied, “We got here just as night fell yesterday. Even though we can recover, it’s slow, and we were just about to leave!”
Hearing this, the Zhan brothers felt a bit frustrated. They had worked hard to find this place, while these guys had just chased a beast and arrived early.
Woo Zhengyang looked calm as he glanced behind the group, then turned with a puzzled expression and asked, "Is that the Bewilderment Dragon Stream?"
At the center of the mountain peak, there was only a narrow crevice, about ten feet wide. Beyond that, there was no other sign of a mountain stream, prompting Woo Zhengyang's question.
