C496 Let Him Die!

"Hey, kid, I'm talking to you!"

Du Yusheng was furious when he saw Woo Zhengyang ignoring him completely.

"Let it go. He's with the Azure Sun Martial Mansion. Why argue about it now?" Situ Jingxiang interjected.

"Miss Situ, don't you want to get out of here? Sure, it's dangerous outside, but there are opportunities everywhere. This cave has nothing to offer."

"Of course, I know that, but both exits are blocked. How do we leave? And even if we manage to break through, without dealing with the lunatic outside, we'll just end up being chased. So, what opportunities are you talking about?"

"If we want to leave, this guy could be useful. If he can distract the lunatic outside, we could escape safely, right?"

"Distract? How could he possibly do that? We're trapped in this cave. Even I would struggle to get out, let alone someone who's only at the Skin Stage..." Situ Jingxiang stopped mid-sentence, realizing what Du Yusheng meant.

"You mean, send him to his death?"

"Exactly. Throw him out of the cave. It serves two purposes: testing the power of those golden arrows and seeing if those lunatics have any sense. If they're mindless and just want to hunt us down, maybe killing one of us would make them leave."

Life and death are critical, and no one here is a fool.

From Du Yusheng's perspective, Woo Zhengyang's presence was insignificant. Testing the power of the golden arrows and understanding the rules followed by the archer was a perfect two-for-one strategy. So, he spoke openly, not considering Woo Zhengyang at all, as if discussing a trivial matter.

Woo Zhengyang stood there quietly, listening. From the moment Du Yusheng began speaking, Woo Zhengyang understood his intentions. However, he was curious about Situ Jingxiang's opinion. The Heavenly Mirror Pavilion was Woo Zhengyang's next target, and Situ Jingxiang was his entry point to understanding it.

After hearing Du Yusheng's words, Situ Jingxiang glanced at Woo Zhengyang. Noticing his calm demeanor, she was slightly surprised and asked, "Woo Zhengyang, aren't you afraid?"

"Afraid? Would fear help me?" Woo Zhengyang replied nonchalantly, casually playing with the glowing pearl in his hand.

"It doesn't matter if he's afraid or not. If he cooperates and luck is on his side, he might have a slim chance of survival. If he doesn't cooperate and I throw him out, he's as good as dead. Now, the question is, Miss Situ, what do you think? Is there anything you'd like to add?"

Situ Jingxiang withdrew her gaze and chuckled softly, "The plan is good, but there's no need to rush. We can wait a bit longer. Maybe those from the outer sect will leave on their own."

"Well..."

Du Yusheng wasn't entirely convinced by Situ Jingxiang's suggestion. In his view, regardless of success or failure, getting rid of Woo Zhengyang was the right move. Even if the plan didn't work out, without Woo Zhengyang around, it would just be him and Situ Jingxiang in the cave, making the atmosphere much more pleasant.

"Of course, I'm not stopping you. If you want to take action, go ahead," Situ Jingxiang said, casting a slightly amused glance at Woo Zhengyang.

Woo Zhengyang realized his calm demeanor was puzzling to Situ Jingxiang. Naturally, with no real connection between them, it was normal for Situ Jingxiang not to care about his fate. His ability to decline Du Yusheng's proposal and earn Woo Zhengyang's respect was noteworthy. In such a hierarchical world, even in the previous one, the weak often ended up as mere stepping stones.

Du Yusheng was eager to try his luck and couldn't wait to throw Woo Zhengyang out. However, without Situ Jingxiang's explicit support, acting on his own wouldn't be wise. Disposing of Woo Zhengyang was a minor issue, but displeasing Situ Jingxiang was a major one. Leaving a good impression on Situ Jingxiang would be beneficial for him and the Sea Heart Martial Palace. If something favorable came of it, it could be a significant step forward for him.

Woo Zhengyang's situation was temporarily put on hold as the three began a long wait. Three hours passed, and the bowmen outside still persistently guarded the cave entrance, showing no intention of leaving.

While they waited for good news, another piece of bad news arrived. Just as Situ Jingxiang was feeling restless, a commotion erupted outside the cave entrance. Soon after, a guy wearing the insignia of the Moon Light Martial Mansion burst into the cave.

It seemed this was the only hiding spot nearby, and those being chased were all being driven here. Like Du Yusheng, the newcomer was also being pursued by a bowman and ended up here, only to attract another bowman in the process. Fortunately, he spotted the cave entrance just in time; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to withstand the pursuit of two bowmen.

This development made Situ Jingxiang even more anxious. The number of bowmen at the cave entrances was increasing, and they were getting stronger.

The newcomer, named Yuen Jinli, appeared refined and courteous, even offering Woo Zhengyang a smile. However, Woo Zhengyang sensed that Yuen Jinli was no different from the others, not genuinely concerned about him.

Yuen Jinli's experience once again proved that the bowmen at the cave entrances could be lured away. If Woo Zhengyang and the others had seized the opportunity when the bowman chased Yuen Jinli, they might have been able to slip away. Of course, whether they would have been pursued again remains unknown.

Unfortunately, the moment was fleeting, passing by so quickly that none of the three had time to react. Given the circumstances, the four trapped individuals had no choice but to shift their focus to the entrance that Woo Zhengyang and Du Yusheng had used. Although there were two archers here as well, one of them only held a silver bow, posing a slightly lesser threat.

Du Yusheng shared his thoughts once more, but Situ Jingxiang remained silent, neither supporting nor opposing the idea. Yuen Jinli noticed her silence and chose not to voice any opinion either.

Woo Zhengyang sat cross-legged with his eyes closed, seemingly resigned to his fate, yet his mind was racing with thoughts about the true nature of this world. According to Yuen Jinli, those pursuing him were disciples from the Azure Sun Martial Mansion. This meant that the archers, like them, had entered the Hundred Flower World. However, something unknown had turned them into hunters.

If this was indeed a trial ground, it shouldn't just be fraught with danger. Yet, despite Woo Zhengyang's extensive exploration, he hadn't encountered any opportunities or even any demonic beasts.

Where were these opportunities hiding?

Woo Zhengyang quietly opened his eyes, his gaze settling on the rocky walls of the cave...
