C522 You Won't Have a Chance!

As Woo Zhengyang and Hee Tianye faced off, Fong Jiaojiao was already hiding at the entrance of the valley, ready to make a run for it. However, Tianye's death was shockingly swift and unexpected. Jiaojiao watched in wide-eyed disbelief as Tianye's body fell, then turned in terror to Zhengyang, completely forgetting her escape plan.

It wasn't until Zhengyang looked her way that Jiaojiao snapped back to reality and bolted for the exit. Naturally, Zhengyang wasn't about to let her go. Grabbing the No Life Sword, he gave chase...

After Zhengyang and Jiaojiao had left the valley for quite some time, Zhan Yinuo finally snapped out of his stupor. He had been stunned that Zhengyang, who was at the Skin Stage, could hold his own against Tianye, who was at the mid-level Inner Stage. It was a fair fight, which was surprising enough. But when Zhengyang drew his sword and defeated Tianye with a single strike, Yinuo realized Zhengyang had never been fighting at full strength. The gap between them was immense...

The chase between Zhengyang and Jiaojiao was a foregone conclusion. Since Zhengyang had grasped the essence of the Dragon Countering Nine Steps, he had devoted himself to mastering its applications. Now, having reached the Great Completion Stage, his speed with the Dragon Countering Nine Steps surpassed even that of the Floating Light Step by a noticeable margin.

The art of movement and martial skills, without the advantage of weapons or special techniques, relies solely on the level and mastery of one's martial abilities. Both individuals are at the initial stage of the Inner Stage. Fong Jiaojiao, being from the prestigious Azure Sun Martial Mansion, naturally trained in its most superior martial arts, likely from a young age. By now, she should have reached at least the Great Completion Stage, if not higher.

Yet, despite this, her speed couldn't match Woo Zhengyang's. This alone highlights the extraordinary nature of the "Dragon Countering Nine Steps."

"Woo Zhengyang, are you really going to make an enemy of the Azure Sun Martial Mansion?" Fong Jiaojiao's usual arrogance faded as Woo Zhengyang closed in on her.

"Is it me who's making an enemy of you? Or is it you who has been relentlessly pushing against me?"

"I admit, I underestimated you. Let me leave, and I'll pretend nothing happened, and that I never saw Hee Tianye!" Fong Jiaojiao's tone softened considerably.

"It's too late for that!" Woo Zhengyang wasn't about to believe Fong Jiaojiao's lies. The main issue was that she and Hee Tianye had attacked Liu Dahu. Now that Woo Zhengyang knew, he was determined to get to the bottom of it and seek justice for Liu Dahu.

"Woo Zhengyang, don't push me. If I burn my life force, I can still tangle with you for a while. If we encounter anyone else along the way, you'll have to face my cousin Fong Zhiyuan's wrath!" When her gentle words failed, Fong Jiaojiao resorted to invoking her cousin's name.

Woo Zhengyang was completely unfazed, relentlessly pursuing.

"You..." Fong Jiaojiao gritted her teeth in frustration, eventually forced to tap into her vital energy.

Hee Tianye was different; being at the mid-level of the Inner Stage, burning his vital energy wouldn't set him back too much—just a drop to the early Inner Stage, which he could recover from. But she was at the early Inner Stage, and burning too much vital energy could drop her to the Skin Stage. Climbing back up from the Skin Stage to the Inner Stage was challenging enough, and falling back could damage her internal organs, making it even harder to advance again. She might be stuck at the Skin Stage for life, so she hesitated, even lowering herself to plead with Woo Zhengyang.

Who knew he would be so stubborn? In the face of life and death, she had no choice.

"Woo Zhengyang, you better hope we don't run into anyone else on the way, and that you can actually catch up to me. Otherwise, I'll wipe out your entire family, no, your whole clan and village!" Fong Jiaojiao threatened through gritted teeth.

"Don't worry, you won't get the chance!" Woo Zhengyang chuckled, glancing around.

Seeing him look around, a glimmer of hope flashed across Fong Jiaojiao's face. She spoke again, "So, have you thought it through? If you stop now, I promise to let bygones be bygones! Otherwise, you'll have to burn your vital energy to catch me, and we’ll both go down together. Let's see who has the last laugh! Do you really think it's worth it?"

In her frantic attempt to dissuade Woo Zhengyang, Fong Jiaojiao's words tumbled out in a rush, her speech almost incoherent as she pushed herself to the limit. Zhengyang, however, remained silent, offering only a gentle smile as he retrieved a flying sword from his Hidden Heaven Bag.

He glanced around briefly, ensuring Zhan Yinuo wasn't following and that no one else was nearby. Activating the Sword Manipulating Flight Technique, Zhengyang soared into the air, quickly closing the gap that Jiaojiao had managed to create by burning her energy.

Their distance rapidly diminished...

"What the—what's happening?" Jiaojiao, sprinting with all her might, glanced back and was shocked to see Zhengyang not far behind. Panic surged through her as she noticed something was off with his speed and altitude.

"How can you possibly be flying on a sword?" she exclaimed, finally realizing that Zhengyang was indeed soaring through the air.

Zhengyang had no intention of wasting time on explanations. He focused entirely on his flight, and before long, he was right behind Jiaojiao, striking down with his sword.

Jiaojiao wasn't about to give up without a fight, but after witnessing Zhengyang's formidable strength, her resolve wavered. With Zhengyang attacking with full force, the battle concluded in just a few exchanges.

Until her last breath, Fong Jiaojiao's face was full of unwillingness. He couldn't understand how this guy could fly with a sword.

Not long after, Woo Zhengyang returned to the valley.

Zhan Yinuo was anxiously waiting outside, pacing back and forth. With things at this stage, he naturally hoped Woo Zhengyang would finish the job; otherwise, he might get dragged into the mess. If Woo Zhengyang didn't catch up with Fong Jiaojiao, or if they ran into someone else during the chase, things could get complicated...

He even started blaming himself for not thinking clearly earlier. If he had been decisive and taken action against Fong Jiaojiao, there wouldn't have been so much trouble.

Seeing Woo Zhengyang return, Zhan Yinuo hurried to meet him, opening his mouth to speak but unsure of what to say.

Woo Zhengyang smiled slightly and said, "It's all taken care of."

Hearing this, Zhan Yinuo finally relaxed, his tense nerves easing. He apologized, "Sorry, I didn't act earlier."

"No worries, it's human nature! After all, you both belong to the same Martial Mansion."

Zhan Yinuo shook his head slightly and said, "Even though we're from the same place, our families aren't that close. Especially our Zhan family—over the years, we've been sidelined a lot. There was a time when our family was..."
