C625 The Fighting Style of the Great Desolate Ancient Clan Five Series of Changes
While Xuan Qixing was answering questions for Woo Zhengyang and the others, the members of the Great Desolate Ancient Clan had already entered, leaving just a few of them behind.
"Alright, let's head in too!"
"Okay!" Woo Zhengyang replied, and they all stepped forward together.
As they took that step, a strange sensation washed over them. The sky was still the same sky, the ground was still the same ground, and Lee Yuanye and the others stood safely by their side. However, the bamboo grove before them had vanished.
No, it hadn't vanished completely—they could still see it. But now, each bamboo stalk appeared like a towering mountain reaching into the clouds.
With another step, the bamboo grove disappeared entirely, leaving only a rugged wilderness of strange rocks in their view.
On the third step, the rocks transformed into low-lying hills.
It was an odd feeling. What had been insignificant protrusions on the ground moments ago now loomed over Woo Zhengyang and the others, forcing them to look up.
After a few more steps, the hills vanished too, and they found themselves in a dim world.
Woo Zhengyang realized that this must be the mysterious ancestral land he couldn't see even if he lay flat on the ground!
Yet, the appearance of this ancestral land was beyond imagination. As far as the eye could see, the ground was covered in cracks and scars.
The sky above was shattered, crisscrossed with black cracks.
"Is this the Ancestral Land?" Lee Yuanye asked in disbelief.
"Yes, it's hard to believe, isn't it?"
"Did all this change after the great calamity?"
"Yes and no. The Ancestral Land was already in ruins before, don't forget, this was where the humans, demons, and gods clashed. But now, it's changed again. What were once safe areas have become perilous, and new unknowns have emerged, so you must proceed with caution."
"Damn, does that mean my map is useless?" Lee Yuanye exclaimed, pulling out a map made of animal hide.
"You actually have a map of the Ancestral Land? Looks like you came prepared. The map is real, but whether it's useful remains to be seen."
"What do you mean?"
"You have a map of the Ancestral Land's core, but where we are now is just one section. Our task is to find the Profound Mountain, which is the area your map covers."
As they spoke, a massive, six-clawed creature, black as night, suddenly burst from the ground. It was enormous, its size rivaling the mountain peaks carried by the Great Desolate Ancient Clan. As soon as it appeared, it swiped a clan member off a mountain with a single blow, sending him flying without any resistance...
Woo Zhengyang and his group were dumbfounded. They had arrived full of confidence, thinking that with the Invincible Cannon Car, they could sweep through any challenge. Now, they realized how naive they had been.
The formidable warriors of the Great Desolate Ancient Clan were effortlessly swatted away by a massive creature that appeared out of nowhere. If the Invincible Cannon Car had been in its place, it would have met the same fate, unable to even aim, let alone fight back.
"We're really out of luck!" Xuan Qixing muttered under his breath, rushing forward, leaving Woo Zhengyang and the others standing there, wide-eyed and helpless. This battle was beyond their ability to intervene.
The unknown monster's strength was beyond imagination. Over a hundred warriors from the Great Desolate Ancient Clan attacked in waves, yet they couldn't inflict even the slightest damage. Instead, more and more of their warriors were sent flying, tumbling across the already cracked earth, carving deep trenches as they went.
At one point, a warrior from the Great Desolate Ancient Clan was flung in the direction of Woo Zhengyang and his group. Seeing the giant figure rolling towards them, they were startled. They wanted to help stop the warrior's tumble, but it was impossible. All they could do was step aside and watch helplessly as the warrior rolled past.
Fortunately, the people of the Great Desolate Ancient Clan were used to the towering mountains at their backs. So even though they were constantly rolling around, they managed to avoid being crushed. They were a bit dizzy but quickly rejoined the battle.
Lee Yuanye brought out the Invincible Cannon Car, but with over a hundred figures in chaotic combat, there was no clear shot. Hitting their own people would be disastrous.
The situation improved somewhat with the arrival of Xuan Qixing. Woo Zhengyang and his companions were wide-eyed as they watched Xuan Qixing grab one of his clan members by the legs and swing him around. He was using the mountain on the clan member's back as a weapon!
With a massive mountain on his own back, Xuan Qixing could still wield another person like a club, showcasing his incredible strength. The poor clan member being swung around was not having a good time, feeling the strain of being used as a handle.
Even more unfortunate, Xuan Qixing didn't just swing him around. Sometimes, he would release the clan member, hurling him at the monster. The thrown clan member would soon be swatted away by the giant creature!
Thankfully, after several painful flights, his time as a weapon finally came to an end.
The clansmen around Xuan Qixing weren't so lucky. He would casually pick up a weapon...
"Boom..."
Xuan Qixing, constantly maneuvering around the monster, finally found an opening. He swung his weapon, a mountain-sized club, and smashed it onto the massive creature's back.
"Boom..."
The giant creature staggered and fell to the ground, causing the earth to tremble. Even Woo Zhengyang and the others, who had kept their distance, felt the ground shake beneath them.
Witnessing this, the members of the Great Desolate Ancient Clan went wild, charging forward like madmen. They used the mountains on their backs as weapons, striking the creature.
The scene was both absurd and heartbreaking for Woo Zhengyang. He couldn't bring himself to laugh, feeling only a deep sorrow.
These were people shackled by burdens, carrying mountains on their backs. Yet, these very people had silently protected this world for thousands of years.
Because of the mountains they carried, many fighting techniques were beyond their reach. They could only use the mountains as their weapons.
Woo Zhengyang could only imagine how they had endured over the millennia.
In times of peace, they lay dormant under the weight of their mountains.
In times of war, they fought with those same mountains on their backs!
Endless ages of suffering and endurance!
And now, they were using their bodies to pave the way for others. How could Woo Zhengyang possibly find any humor in that...
