C643 Dance of the Gods and Demons

After the divine pet passed away, the group entered a lush, green world. The fresh air was invigorating, bringing a sense of peace to everyone, especially Lee Yuanye and the figure in the black robe. Having lived in a world where cleansing rains were a constant, they had never experienced such comfort.

"Hurry up, Lee the Seer, and figure out if there's any danger here and which way we should go next," Huo'er asked eagerly, still buzzing from the recent battle.

"Generally speaking, two tigers can't share one mountain unless they're a pair. This place should be relatively safe. As for the direction, let me divine it," Lee Yuanye replied, with an air of mystery.

Lee Yuanye's ability proved quite useful here. Following his guidance, the group quickly found the passage to the next world fragment. This time, the world they faced was suspended in the void.

As they stepped onto it, nothing seemed amiss. Looking back, the previous world appeared to be suspended instead. Such a scenario was not unfamiliar to Woo Zhengyang and the others. It reminded them of the Ocean World within the Hundred Flower World, where a peculiar sea palace had a similar effect.

Though this new world might have seemed intimidating from afar, there were no signs of devil pets or divine creatures. The group easily made their way to the next world fragment.

This time, the fragmented world was a landscape of towering mountains, making it impossible for anyone to fly with their swords. It was the kind of environment they all disliked the most.

What left everyone speechless was that after they painstakingly crossed dozens of mountain ranges, the sharp-eyed Huo'er spotted something familiar. It was a colossal skeleton, towering several times higher than the mountains, gleaming like jade against the sky.

This fragment of the world was the same one they had seen across the void when they first entered the city gates. In reality, despite their long journey, they had only traversed a few hundred feet in a straight line through the void.

Fortunately, they had Lee Yuanye, the so-called "Half-Immortal," with them; otherwise, they might still be wandering aimlessly within that world fragment.

After more than an hour, the group found themselves drawing closer to the skeleton. However, they had to come to a halt. From a distance, the skeleton appeared unimaginably tall, dwarfing even the divine and devil pets in comparison.

As they approached, the group was no longer just awed by the skeleton's size. It was the overwhelming pressure that stunned them. Despite having been dead for countless millennia, the skeleton still exuded an immense aura of power. Only Woo Zhengyang, who had trained extensively in the Star Pavilion, could withstand it; the others found it utterly overpowering.

Even Woo Zhengyang wasn't sure how much longer he could keep moving forward. With no other choice, the group decided to bypass the skeleton. Perhaps it was the skeleton's presence that kept this world fragment mostly empty, with only a few devil pets around, allowing the group to pass without much delay. After crossing countless peaks, they finally made it through. However, when they saw the next world fragment, everyone felt utterly defeated.

This fragment was teeming with devil pets! While none were enormous, they all seemed to have the power of a martial king. What left everyone in despair was the sheer number of them—thousands, a massive, dark swarm!

"What the heck is going on? Why are all these little fools gathered here?" Lee Yuanye exclaimed in frustration.

"Roar..."

"Roar..."

The army of devil pets spotted Woo Zhengyang and his group and charged at them, roaring. The passage connecting these two world fragments was wide enough for even the divine pet to pass through easily, let alone these devil pets. In no time, the passage was overrun by the dark mass of the devil pet army.

"Oh man, we're doomed!" Lee Yuanye shouted, quickly bringing out the Invincible Cannon Car.

Without further ado, everyone quickly moved into the protective shield of the Invincible Cannon Car. The figure in the black robe also entered swiftly, using a sacred artifact as the power source for the Invincible Cannon Car.

Before long, the car was surrounded by a massive army of devil pets, launching a frenzied attack. Huo'er was already at the control panel, launching a counterattack. Controlling the Invincible Cannon Car was her favorite thing to do, and she was thoroughly enjoying it.

As for the others, they couldn't just stand by either. Each person used their skills to attack because relying solely on the Invincible Cannon Car wouldn't be enough to defeat such a large army of devil pets anytime soon.

With the protection of the Invincible Cannon Car's shield, everyone could focus on fighting without any worries. The Invincible Cannon Car once again proved its worth. In fact, throughout their journey, it had been their greatest asset.

Though it was slow and clumsy, its defensive and offensive capabilities were incredibly strong. Whether they were previously surrounded by demonic beasts in the Myriad Desolate Mountain or battling King Ster and the Emperor Rank divine pets, and now facing the devil pet army, the Invincible Cannon Car was indispensable. Without it, even if everyone were Emperor Rank fighters, they might not have been able to withstand the onslaught.

The battle raged on for over three hours! Everyone was utterly exhausted, and the bodies of the devil pets nearly blocked the passage connecting the two world fragments. To be safe, they didn't pack away the Invincible Cannon Car but instead slowly rolled it into the new world.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before another wave of devil pets charged at them. This time, the army was led by a massive devil pet. Thankfully, the commander was only as strong as a martial master, and Yun'er seized the opportunity to take him down.

After several more grueling hours of combat, they finally broke free and entered a new world fragment!

...

Nine days later!

Woo Zhengyang and his group found themselves in another world fragment. Over those nine days, they lost count of how many battles they had fought, both big and small. This place had become a haven for devil and divine pets alike. They encountered armies of devil pets, divine pets, and even mixed battles between the two.

Whenever the warring armies spotted Woo Zhengyang and his group, they immediately stopped fighting each other and joined forces to attack them. In terms of numbers, it was overwhelming. In terms of strength, Woo Zhengyang and his team faced many formidable foes, including a devil pet as powerful as an Emperor Rank.

The magical creature couldn't speak, and Lee Yuanye's usual tricks were useless, leaving everyone with no choice but to fight!

That battle was, without a doubt, the most frustrating one Woo Zhengyang had ever been a part of. They tried every tactic they knew, but they couldn't defeat the creature. In the end, they had to retreat into the Star World to regroup before facing it again.

Two days later, the battle concluded. Woo Zhengyang and his companions emerged unscathed, and so did the creature, which was as powerful as an Emperor Rank. The connection between their worlds had severed, leaving the creature trapped in another world fragment.

This experience was a memory they'd rather forget, yet it was also a treasure trove of growth and learning for Woo Zhengyang and his team. They gained insights and experiences they couldn't have acquired elsewhere.

"Wow... no enemies here!" Huo'er exclaimed excitedly upon seeing the new world, and the others breathed a sigh of relief. After the recent events, the sight of any magical or divine creature made them feel queasy.

"Let me, the great Lee the Seer, divine which direction we should head!" Lee Yuanye had gotten used to predicting their path whenever they entered a new world fragment.

"Lee the Seer, have you lost your mind?" Huo'er retorted, not amused.

"What?" Lee Yuanye asked, opening his eyes in confusion, having been pretending to concentrate deeply.

"What do you see over there? Need me to calculate it for you?" Huo'er pointed ahead.

Everyone burst into laughter.

It turned out that this fragment of the world wasn't very large, and you could see the passage to the next fragment from a distance.

"Oh man, I miscalculated. No wonder my foresight was ignoring me this time; it turns out it was mocking me too..."

This time, the passage between the two world fragments was tucked away in a corner.

Before long, everyone reached this corner.

The new world was right in front of them, yet they stood before the passage, hesitant to move!

Across the void of this world fragment, a solitary peak towered, its height immeasurable!

On one side of the peak, two massive ancient characters were carved into a cliff, smooth as a mirror: Profound Mountain!

So, there will be four more updates today. Once I finish writing, I'll share them with you.

Finally, we're back to second place on the flower leaderboard, but the competition is tight. Friends, let's widen the gap with your support. Profound Mountain thanks you!
