C644 At the Sacred Mountain

Profound Mountain is the sacred mountain of the Human Clan, the backbone of their people. As they journeyed, facing chaos and the struggle between life and death, the sight of Profound Mountain in the distance brought a sense of relief and exhaustion.

Woo Zhengyang and his group stood for a long time before the passage. Their pause was partly due to their deep respect for Profound Mountain and partly because of a sense of liberation. The last fragment of the world was finally within reach! Despite the countless challenges, the exhaustion, and the near-death experiences along the way, reaching this point made it all worthwhile.

"Let's go in! The last step is often the hardest, so everyone, stay vigilant," Woo Zhengyang reminded them.

He then led the way inside. As they reached the halfway point, an unusual sensation washed over them, bringing joy to Woo Zhengyang and the four women, Bing'er, Huo'er, and Yun'er.

"Master! Our meridians are no longer blocked!" Huo'er exclaimed, jumping with excitement.

"Yes, I feel it too!" Woo Zhengyang was equally thrilled. Although his physical training had surpassed his spiritual cultivation, the blockage in his meridians had always been a concern. With this obstacle removed, he felt a newfound clarity.

"Is this what it feels like when the seal disappears?" Yun'er also sensed the change. Her training in spirit magic had been constrained by the Heaven Shrouding Great Array, and even with spiritual treasures, the feeling of being unbound was entirely different.

"Alright, alright, so you’ve unlocked your energy channels. None of you have reached the pinnacle of mastery yet. Is there really a need to be so excited? Just wait until I, Lee the Half-Immortal, get out of here. I'll show you what a true prodigy in energy cultivation and body refinement looks like!" Lee Yuanye said, feeling a bit envious.

"Yeah, right..."

The group continued joking and moving forward, but after a few steps, they found themselves unable to proceed. At the end of the passage, an invisible barrier blocked their way.

"Wow, the final hurdle really is something else. There's actually a barrier," Lee Yuanye remarked, testing it with a punch.

The previously invisible barrier revealed a shimmering layer of rainbow hues upon impact.

"Based on my analysis and deduction, this barrier isn't dangerous. It's actually quite gentle. Watch me break through it," Lee Yuanye declared, pulling out a long, blue spear. With a flick, the spear shot forward like a dragon, piercing the barrier.

"That easy?" Lee Yuanye wondered aloud.

The next moment, his expression changed.

"Darn it!"

With a startled cry, Lee Yuanye was flung back, spear and all...

A few moments later, a disheveled Lee Yuanye returned.

"Darn it, I refuse to believe I can't break through this stupid barrier!"

Lee Yuanye, not one to back down easily, decided to try again. This time, he wielded an unusually shaped broadsword and employed a peculiar sword technique. As the blade descended, the atmosphere seemed to change dramatically. Even Woo Zhengyang and the others nearby felt as if they had been transported to a hellish battlefield.

Despite the broadsword's impressive power and Lee Yuanye's fierce determination, when it struck the vibrant barrier, its force was absorbed, leaving only the blade itself visible as it hit the shield.

"Hiss..."

The same sound echoed as the sword sank in.

"Not good!"

"Let go!"

"Move away!"

The voices of Woo Zhengyang, Lee Yuanye, and others rang out simultaneously.

In the next moment, the broadsword in Lee Yuanye's hand suddenly exploded, sending shards of light scattering in all directions. The light spread outward from the barrier, expanding rapidly, making the best escape route to press close to the shield.

While others managed to dodge, Lee Yuanye, being at the forefront, found it harder to evade. However, he had many tricks up his sleeve. As he shouted a warning, a large turtle shell appeared around him.

"Pop... pop... pop..."

The streams of light struck the turtle shell, sending Lee Yuanye and the shell flying backward.

"Darn it!"

"Idiot!"

"Moron!"

"Jerk!"

"Fool!"

Woo Zhengyang and the others started shouting angrily.

Lee Yuanye had taken refuge inside his protective shell, feeling safe and sound. However, the shell's rebound caused streaks of light to scatter everywhere, mostly heading toward the barrier. Although these streaks had lost much of their force and were fewer in number, they still caused chaos among the group. If it weren't for the strength of Yun'er and the one in the black robe, Woo Zhengyang and the four women would have had to retreat into the Star Bead or the Ice Crystal Fire Hall.

"I'm going for it! I've been stuck here for years, and I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve," Lee Yuanye grumbled as he returned.

His protective shell was gone, replaced by a broad-bladed sword and a crimson shield. Throughout their journey, with the Invincible Cannon Car leading the way, Lee Yuanye hadn't had many chances to act. Even when he did, it was mostly just swinging a long sword.

No one expected him to be such a jack-of-all-trades, equipped with various weapons and the skills to match. But if he wanted to make a fuss, so be it. Having learned from past experiences, Woo Zhengyang and the others weren't about to stand around.

They stepped back from the passage as Lee Yuanye made his move again. It had to be said, his methods were quite intriguing. The seemingly simple broad-bladed sword, once activated, split into thousands of fine blades—or rather, arrows. Under Lee Yuanye's secret technique, the tails of these arrows ignited rapidly.

In the next moment, all those arrows vanished, only to reappear embedded in the barrier. Lee Yuanye, now huddled behind his shield, muttered angrily, "I refuse to believe I can't break you!"

"Darn it..."

Lee Yuanye's exclamation revealed the outcome—he had failed again!

"Ridiculous!"

"Idiot!"

"Fool!"

"Jerk!"

"Moron!"

Woo Zhengyang and the others started cursing again...

Logically, Lee Yuanye's failure should have been his own concern, as everyone else had stepped aside. There was no need to berate him.

But the real issue was that they hadn't managed to get out of the way.

This time, as the barrier rebounded, it unleashed a torrent of flames, pouring down like a fiery rain. Even though Woo Zhengyang and the others had retreated to the entrance of the passage, they couldn't escape being caught in the blaze, scrambling in all directions...

"Darn it, I'm getting roasted here..."

Lee Yuanye was in a worse spot. Though he wasn't thrown back, the flames were extraordinary, burning several large holes in his shield in just a few seconds.

With no other choice, Lee Yuanye had to retreat back into his trusty turtle shell. This shell was clearly formidable, able to withstand the fiery onslaught. But even so, Lee Yuanye wasn't having an easy time inside, bouncing and leaping to get out...
