C650 Time Travel(part I)

"Alright, there's no need for you two to argue. Finding a way out is what's important," Woo Zhengyang interrupted as Lee Yuanye and Huo'er bickered back and forth. They had reached what was undoubtedly the core of their ancestral land, but their ultimate goal wasn't just to arrive here; they needed to find a way out of this sealed world. Unfortunately, they had no leads on how to do that yet.

After taking a short break, the group set out toward Profound Mountain. Even though there was no visible danger, they remained vigilant. As it turned out, their caution was unnecessary; they reached the base of Profound Mountain with ease.

Embarking on the path of martial arts means confronting life and death, yet in front of Profound Mountain, Woo Zhengyang found it hard to remain unaffected. The sacred mountain, towering countless feet high, was encrusted with countless bones.

Woo Zhengyang wasn't afraid; he was filled with respect. According to legend, during the great war among the four clans, when the Human Clan faced extinction, the young Profound Mountain rose powerfully, leading them to resist the onslaught of the divine and demonic clans. The young Profound Mountain was worthy of respect, and so was this sacred mountain.

Beyond that, there were many ancient ancestors whose names were lost to time, deserving even greater reverence.

To support Profound Mountain, they sacrificed their lives...

These countless layers of bones, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, are the final gift of those ancient ancestors who burned their life force. Each skeleton, as clear as jade, has lost its soul, yet the spiritual fire remains unextinguished. Even after countless millennia, their unwavering determination continues to drive them, burning their last remnants of power, transforming into spiritual fire to infuse into Profound Mountain!

"This is the Sacred Mountain... Let's pay our respects," suggested Woo Zhengyang.

"Alright," agreed Lee Yuanye, with an unprecedented look of reverence.

Then, they dusted off their clothes and bowed deeply to the Sacred Mountain.

"Our ancestors used to say, if anyone can reach the peak of Profound Mountain, they will be the leader of the Human Clan," said the man in the black robe after they finished their homage.

"Logically, that person should be me. But reaching the peak of Profound Mountain... the mountain is so high it seems endless, with sheer cliffs on all sides, and we can't fly here. How can we possibly get up there?" Lee Yuanye pondered aloud.

Everyone was speechless; this guy had no shame, already assuming the role for himself.

Woo Zhengyang chuckled, "If it were that easy, wouldn't everyone be the leader of the Human Clan?"

"True, but I believe that one day I'll make it up there!"

"Alright, let's head over to the Spirit Altar. That should be our hope for leaving this place," the man in the black robe spoke again.

The altar mentioned by the figure in the black robe was located on the side of Profound Mountain, etched with ancient script. The group had noticed it even before they entered. Shortly after, a grand and ancient altar appeared before them. This was their ultimate goal, yet their attention was drawn elsewhere.

Below the altar stood a dozen or so stone tablets.

The Tomb of Emperor Whisper.

The Tomb of Emperor Luyao.

The Tomb of Emperor Sihan.

The Tomb of Emperor Yue.

Each tombstone bore the title of either an Emperor or a Great Emperor. The term "Great Emperor" was an honorary title for an Emperor.

But why were these Emperors and Great Emperors buried here?

Woo Zhengyang and the others couldn't help but look towards the figure in the black robe, who was the most knowledgeable about this place among them. Seeing their gaze, the black-robed figure shook her head and said, "I don't know what's going on either. According to my clan's records, before the great calamity, those of the Emperor rank were indeed qualified to be interred in the ancestral land. However, such burials were done through secret methods, merging with the mountain walls like the ancients, not through traditional burials like these."

"Could it be that the disappearance of the divine and devil pets here was caused by these Emperor powerhouses?" Bing'er asked, puzzled.

The black-robed figure nodded, "It's possible... But where did these Emperors come from? This world shouldn't have any Emperors, right? If there were, even if the Red-clothed Demon King and her kind didn't notice, would these Emperors really stand by and do nothing knowing the existence of the demon clan?"

"Woo Zhengyang, are you suggesting these emperors might be from outside?" Lee Yuanye asked, trying to grasp the significance.

"It's highly possible!" Woo Zhengyang replied, recalling an emperor he once encountered, someone who called himself the Reincarnation Emperor, Moh Lunhui. Could everything here be connected to Moh Lunhui?

"Can outsiders enter this place? But what's their purpose? Did they come to rescue our sealed world, only to retreat when they couldn't handle it? It's frustrating—they solved the toughest part but stopped there. So, they must have set up that formation, right?" Lee Yuanye expressed his exasperation.

"Let's not be too harsh. No one knew what was happening back then. So many emperors perished here, which shows they fought hard. Even though they defeated the divine and devil pets, they suffered heavy losses themselves."

"Let's focus on ourselves for now. It seems like we might leave empty-handed this time," the figure in the black robe said, his words tinged with bitterness.

"What's wrong?" Woo Zhengyang asked.

"This sacrificial altar... it can only be used once every ten thousand years."

"Once every ten thousand years... Are you saying these emperors have used it recently?"

"Exactly. Judging by the dates on these tombstones, it's been less than twenty years. To leave here without passing through the Holy City, they must have used the sacrificial altar!"

"Oh no... Are you kidding me? Heaven help us!" Lee Yuanye exclaimed, circling the gravestones while muttering under his breath.

"What are you looking for?" Woo Zhengyang asked, noticing Lee's peculiar behavior.

"Do you think these legendary heroes might have all perished? They fought with everything they had, and maybe the last one standing managed to defeat all the divine and devil creatures here. But then, that last hero, on the brink of death, dug their own grave and passed away? If that's the case, they wouldn't need a memorial..."

"Don't talk nonsense and disrespect these predecessors. No matter what, they fought bravely to clear the path for us. Who knows what situation we'd be in without them," Woo Zhengyang replied, annoyed.

"My apologies, my apologies. I meant no disrespect to our esteemed predecessors," Lee Yuanye said, quickly apologizing. Then he added to Woo Zhengyang, "Boss, we really can't afford to wait any longer. I don't want to hang around for another thousand years! Besides, it's not entirely impossible, right?"

"Stop imagining things. It's just not possible. Even if it happened like you said, those predecessors wouldn't have just given up," the figure in the black robe interjected, shattering Lee Yuanye's fantasy.
