C661 Crossing the Human Wall

"Stop right there! This is a restricted area!"

Woo Zhengyang had just approached the entrance to the royal city when the guards stopped him.

"Don't you recognize me?"

"Why should we? Back off, or don't blame us for being unfriendly."

Woo Zhengyang was frustrated. It seemed the Heavenly Martial Sect's reputation hadn't spread enough if there were still people in Hibernation Dragon City who didn't know him. But he was mistaken.

It wasn't that the people of Hibernation Dragon City didn't recognize him; they just never expected Woo Zhengyang to show up so boldly, right at the gates of the royal city.

"It's... Woo... Woo Zhengyang..."

Finally, one of the guards recognized him. His shout was like a thunderclap, causing about a dozen guards to instinctively step back, with one even stumbling into the moat.

The name Woo Zhengyang, the notorious killer, was truly intimidating.

Woo Zhengyang stepped through the city gates without even drawing his No Life Sword. The guards retreated in fear, their faces pale, showing no sign of wanting to fight.

Once inside the royal city, more guards gathered around—some in light armor, some in heavy, wielding swords and spears. But after surrounding him, they too joined the retreating crowd.

The gap in strength was too vast, and none of them wanted to be the first to rush in and meet their end. They all knew Woo Zhengyang's combat prowess well, and even without the legendary four fairies by his side, he was still beyond their ability to handle.

Woo Zhengyang walked forward, and as he advanced, the soldiers retreated, their numbers growing. By the time they reached the inner city gate, nearly ten thousand soldiers had gathered, a dense, dark mass.

“A bunch of cowards! So many of you pushed back to this point? Get in there and take down that traitor!” A voice roared from within the city, and a middle-aged man with a neatly trimmed beard stepped out.

It was clear this man was the commander of the guards. His presence brought a noticeable change in the soldiers' demeanor. At his command, some even seemed eager to act.

Unfortunately, Woo Zhengyang's intimidation was still more compelling, and no one dared to make the first move.

“Fine, you're afraid to advance, but aren't you afraid I'll wipe out your families? If I see anyone take a step back, I'll kill you first and then your entire family!” the commander sneered.

This time, the guards dared not retreat any further. Backing down was no longer just about their own lives.

The soldiers pressed together, forming a human wall.

Woo Zhengyang didn't hesitate. He walked straight up to the wall of men and continued forward.

“Ah!”

A soldier in front of Woo Zhengyang cried out, thrusting his spear at him.

Though only a Nine-star Martial Disciple, he couldn't just stand there and wait for death. With people packed tightly around him, retreat was impossible, leaving him no choice but to attack.

With the first guard making a move, the others quickly followed suit, their weapons aimed at Woo Zhengyang. Despite the onslaught, Zhengyang didn't draw his sword; there was simply no need.

Harnessing the power of his energy and the intense force of fire, a protective aura enveloped his body. The weapons clashed against this shield without leaving a mark, their tips and blades absorbed by the fiery energy.

"Stand in my way and perish!" Zhengyang growled, grabbing the first spear thrust at him. With a swift twist and flick, he disarmed his opponent effortlessly. The spear was now in Zhengyang's hands, and with a powerful swing, he sent the attacker flying into the air.

"Boom..." The spear's shaft struck the airborne body of the Nine-star Martial Disciple, slicing him cleanly in two. Yes, sliced! Using the body of a spear, not a blade, to cut a person in half was unheard of.

What kind of strength did it take to achieve such a feat?

As the others stood in shock, the second attacker was also sent airborne. A mist of blood followed, and he met the same fate as the first.

Then came the third, fourth, all the way to the sixteenth!

Above that area, a faint red mist hovered...

The bright silver spear in Woo Zhengyang's hand had turned blood-red. The blood of sixteen people flowed down the spear to his arm, only to be repelled by his protective energy.

During the dispatch of these sixteen individuals, some were screaming in terror, unable to escape the crowd, while others attempted to attack Woo Zhengyang.

Then, the seventeenth person was sent flying.

This time, however, the person wasn't sliced in half but was instead launched far away.

Having grown accustomed to the terrifying scenes, the sudden change in events left the onlookers unsettled.

"He's running low on energy, let's take him down together!" the guard captain's voice rang out.

In moments of extreme tension and fear, people often lose their ability to think clearly.

As soon as the captain spoke, many believed him and rushed at Woo Zhengyang.

But they forgot that body tempering fighters excel in endurance and prolonged battles. How could Woo Zhengyang be low on energy so quickly?

Besides, with Woo Zhengyang's strength, even if he were low on energy, could they really take him on?

Quickly, the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth people were almost simultaneously knocked away. Strangely, among these three, only one was cut in half, while the other two, like the previous one, were simply sent flying.

Then, a few more people were consecutively knocked away, each receiving different treatment.

"I've noticed something: those who attack him end up dead, but those who haven't just get tossed aside," someone whispered.

Everyone looked and realized it was true. Knowing this, no one dared to attack Woo Zhengyang anymore; they just stood there, waiting to be thrown out.

"This won't do. The boss will catch on soon. Let's at least pretend to fight!" someone else whispered.

Everyone agreed, and they started swinging their weapons wildly, shouting and making a ruckus.

Woo Zhengyang was speechless. He was used to a kill-or-be-killed style, not expecting anyone to exploit a loophole like this. Now, it seemed like he was just playing along with their charade.

Still, Woo Zhengyang wasn't annoyed. There was no deep-seated hatred between them, so since they weren't attacking, he didn't mind helping them out this time.

One by one, the guards were knocked away, landing around like raindrops, creating a path through the layered human barricade...
