C67 This Is My Path(1)
Two hours later, Woo Zhengyang had lost track of how many demonic beasts he had defeated, yet he still hadn't found his way out of the dense forest. However, he had gained significant benefits. Using the Flesh Condensing Technique repeatedly, Woo Zhengyang's strength was now approaching 2,000 pounds. Just a few more demonic beasts to spar with, and breaking through would be a breeze.
"Help..."
As Woo Zhengyang was diligently searching for prey, a woman's cry for help suddenly echoed from nearby. Turning his head, he saw a woman in a pink outfit running frantically from one side, with two demonic beasts chasing her. She held a sword stained with blood.
The two beasts behind her were a Level 1 Green Wind Wolf and a Level 2 Split Gold Tiger! The wolf had several sword wounds, suggesting that while she was dealing with it, the tiger had appeared out of nowhere, putting her in a tough spot.
"Please help me, sir..."
The woman, looking panicked, called out to Woo Zhengyang once more for help. Woo Zhengyang wasn't one to meddle unnecessarily, nor would he ignore someone in distress. Besides, he was on the hunt for prey himself. Without a word, he rushed over and intercepted the Split Gold Tiger. The tiger was incredibly strong, not an ideal opponent for a vein-refining practitioner, but for Woo Zhengyang, it was perfect for training.
After finally finding a target, Woo Zhengyang wasn’t about to waste the opportunity. He engaged in a fierce hand-to-hand battle with the Gold-Splitting Tiger, each punch landing with force.
Once Woo Zhengyang took on the Gold-Splitting Tiger, the pressure on the woman eased considerably. She wielded her sword against the Green Wind Wolf, eventually slaying it. Then, she noticed Woo Zhengyang wasn’t using any weapons, just his fists, repeatedly clashing with the Gold-Splitting Tiger. She had seen many methods of dealing with beasts, but this was the first time she witnessed someone fighting barehanded, especially against such a formidable creature.
“Just go, don’t worry about me!” she called out, intending to help, but Woo Zhengyang stopped her.
After a few intense moments, the Gold-Splitting Tiger let out a final wail as Woo Zhengyang’s fists delivered the fatal blow.
“Zhang Caiyun from the Iron Cloud Sect, thank you, senior from the Profound Heaven Sect!” The woman didn’t leave. Instead, she quickly expressed her gratitude once Woo Zhengyang had defeated the beast.
They were all wearing outfits with their sect emblems for the trial, so it wasn’t surprising she recognized Woo Zhengyang’s affiliation. He wasn’t familiar with her, but her greeting caught his attention. Sure enough, he noticed the Iron Cloud Sect emblem on her clothing.
“No need for thanks, take care!” Woo Zhengyang replied casually.
He did know someone from the Iron Cloud Sect, a person named Huang Ruoshan, but he wasn’t in the mood for conversation, so he didn’t bring it up. With that, he continued on his way.
Zhang Caiyun was taken aback by Woo Zhengyang's indifferent attitude. She hesitated for a moment before catching up to him, calling out, "Hey... what's your name? Let's walk together!"
"Woo Zhengyang! No need to walk together!"
"What... you're Woo Zhengyang?" Zhang Caiyun was visibly stunned, her face full of shock.
"Why? Do you know me?" Woo Zhengyang was a bit surprised. Could it be that she knew Huang Ruoshan and learned his name from him? Otherwise, Woo Zhengyang really couldn't recall any connection with the Iron Cloud Sect.
Soon enough, Woo Zhengyang learned the whole story from Zhang Caiyun.
When the Mystic Trace Realm opened, Woo Zhengyang was the first to enter, causing quite a stir outside. The people from the Heavenly Martial Academy were especially furious. Although they couldn't hold the Profound Heaven Sect accountable, they had to find out who dared to disregard their academy.
The disciples of the Profound Heaven Sect already harbored some hostility toward Woo Zhengyang, and now they were eager to distance themselves, revealing everything about him.
As a result, Woo Zhengyang, who hadn't even participated in the previous day's sparring, became a well-known name among the disciples from the four major sects and the Heavenly Martial Academy.
In response, Woo Zhengyang remained as indifferent as ever, completely ignoring the situation.
After their conversation, Zhang Caiyun showed no intention of leaving, and Woo Zhengyang, being polite, couldn't just ask her to go. So, they continued on together.
After walking for another half hour, they finally reached the edge of the dense forest and stepped into a world filled with the fragrance of flowers. It was a massive canyon, where, besides ordinary flowers and plants, many rare herbs grew.
The Mystic Trace Realm opened once a year, and even though everyone appeared in different locations, there were bound to be overlaps. This place had been visited countless times over the years. Rare herbs were scarce, and even the more common ones that had matured over time were hard to find. Zhang Caiyun occasionally picked some, but Woo Zhengyang refrained.
Before entering the Mystic Trace Realm, Woo Zhengyang had memorized the herbs needed to concoct the Dragon Saliva Pill. His goal was to find those elusive herbs that were hard to come by outside. Unfortunately, even within the Mystic Trace Realm, they remained difficult to encounter.
