C677 The Third Choice
"You can actually resist my pressure!" Woo Zhengyang was shocked, and so was the woman!
She had deliberately directed her pressure at Woo Zhengyang, making it twice as intense for him, while others felt nothing. Yet, despite facing the pressure of a Martial King, he remained completely unaffected. Not only did he not stumble or fall, but his expression didn’t change at all.
"So, do you still think I’ll choose the path you’ve laid out for me?" Even though the woman revealed her status as a Martial King, Woo Zhengyang didn’t change his tone.
As for the pressure, even a Sovereign’s pressure alone wouldn’t faze Woo Zhengyang. Compared to the pressure in the Star Pavilion of the Star World, a King’s pressure was insignificant. Woo Zhengyang had trained there for so long that he could easily withstand it.
Of course, when it came to resistance, Woo Zhengyang was far behind Rice. After consuming that mysterious stone, even the pressure of an Emperor was ineffective against Rice.
"If you don’t choose the first path, then take the second one! It’s simpler: join me and become part of my sect. I’m the leader, and you’ll be the deputy leader. The King Rank weapon will be yours, and so will I. The sect will belong to both of us, and we’ll become the top sect under the Golden Scale Sect."
The woman spoke, casting a flirtatious glance at Woo Zhengyang, her allure undeniable. Woo Zhengyang was taken aback; she hadn't expected the woman's second option to be so enticing.
Typically, the side offering choices is the dominant one, while the side making the choice is weaker. Thus, the options presented by the dominant side are usually self-serving. The first option had already revealed the woman's intentions, so Woo Zhengyang anticipated that the subsequent choices would likely be unfavorable, perhaps even life-or-death scenarios.
However, the woman's second option was even more tempting than the first. By using the term "gate," it indicated that her sect was on par with the Heavenly Martial Sect. But let's not forget, she was merely the Sect Master, yet she had reached the Martial King Stage. This meant her sect likely had at least one, if not several, experts at the Martial King level serving as elders.
This suggested that her sect was more powerful than the Heavenly Martial Sect; otherwise, she wouldn't confidently claim that acquiring the No Life Sword would make them the top sect under the Golden Scale Sect.
The sword would be his, the people would be his, and he would become the deputy leader of their sect. It was like a pie falling from the sky. Although the woman didn't seem to be lying, Woo Zhengyang found it hard to believe.
"Miss, I appreciate your kindness, but I am already a disciple of the Profound Heaven Sect and will not switch allegiances," Woo Zhengyang replied, unaffected by whether the woman's words were true or false.
"You've got to be kidding me! Do you even realize what this opportunity means? Even if I'm not your type, this choice could let you keep a King Rank weapon and eventually become a Sect Master, reaching the level of a Martial King expert!" The woman stood up abruptly, her voice sharp with frustration.
She was genuinely upset this time. She was offering so much, yet he remained unmoved. Was she really that unattractive to him?
"Miss, don't sell yourself short. I just believe that with my own efforts, I can achieve the same," Woo Zhengyang replied calmly, curious about what her third option might be.
"But having the strong backing of a sect could speed up your journey to becoming a Martial King, and might even help you go further!" she continued, not rushing to reveal the third choice, trying to persuade him.
"There's no need to say more, Miss. I trust myself. Besides, if I truly need a sect, I have the Profound Heaven Sect. Soon, it will be the Profound Heaven Gate, and eventually the Profound Heaven Faction..."
Seeing Woo Zhengyang's stubborn demeanor, the woman sat back down, exasperated. "Hmph, Woo Zhengyang, you sure are confident."
"Miss, let's not waste any more time. Tell me your third option, and I'll be on my way!"
Woo Zhengyang wasn't planning to make a choice; he was just curious about the third option. After hearing it, he intended to leave regardless.
"Hmph, Nie Fengyu sure has a good disciple," the woman said, still fuming, and then gestured for Woo Zhengyang to come closer.
Despite standing firm under the pressure of a powerful presence, Woo Zhengyang was startled when the woman beckoned him and took a step back.
"Miss, just tell me the third option! I won't be choosing the second one."
"You little rascal, am I really that scary?"
"If there's no third option, then I'll take my leave," Woo Zhengyang said with a polite bow, ready to either depart or fight.
She wasn't particularly frightening, but her constant attempts to entice him made Woo Zhengyang uneasy. Was there some hidden meaning? Regardless of any hidden agenda, it wasn't worth the attention of a powerful expert like her.
"Leave? You mean run away, right? You step out of here, and who knows how many old monsters are watching you. Without my help, do you think you can escape?"
"What do you mean by that?" Woo Zhengyang was puzzled. Was she offering to help him escape?
"Your brain really is slow. Isn't it obvious? The third option is that I help you make your getaway. How about that?"
Woo Zhengyang was even more bewildered...
The third option was to help him escape?
The first option made sense to Woo Zhengyang. Everyone wanted the No Life Sword. Maybe this woman had a good heart and just wanted the treasure without causing harm, even helping the Profound Heaven Sect through tough times.
The second option was puzzling. She didn't demand the No Life Sword, nor did she try to take it by force. Instead, she offered allure and power, a price hard to believe but understandable given the rumors of a big secret he supposedly held.
But the third option? It was beyond comprehension.
Help him escape without asking for anything in return?
What was in it for them?
Did they have some other agenda?
With the strength they had shown, there was no need for such elaborate schemes!
"What are you pondering over, you silly guy? Do you think I'm not that kind-hearted? You don't appreciate, don't understand romance, and can't recognize good intentions. Do you think I'm deceiving you?"
The woman teased, pulling something from her Hidden Heaven Bag and tossing it to Woo Zhengyang...
