C716 You also Looked Embarrassed

Woo Zhengyang agreed without much hesitation to Bing Yue's plan. Yet, this left Bing Yue unsure whether to be angry or pleased. She had gone to great lengths, even resorting to using her charm, to achieve something that was effortlessly accomplished once she explained the situation.

According to Woo Zhengyang, because of the connection between her and Nie Fengyu, he would agree as soon as she asked. Bing Yue was internally furious. What did this mean for her efforts to use her allure? Was she really that unappealing?

If it weren't for the issue with Loong Zhiwu, Bing Yue might have suspected a special relationship between Woo Zhengyang and Nie Fengyu. What Woo Zhengyang said next only fueled her frustration. He mentioned that even without Nie Fengyu, he would have agreed once she explained the situation, without needing such elaborate measures.

Hearing this, Bing Yue was so frustrated she could have bitten Woo Zhengyang. Did her efforts mean nothing? If she hadn't held onto a shred of sanity, she might have wanted to test if she had any allure at all by seeing if Woo Zhengyang would react.

Regardless, Woo Zhengyang's agreement made Bing Yue quite happy.

Meanwhile, the two of them quickly came up with a simple plan. Even though Woo Zhengyang felt it was a bit inappropriate, Bing Yue insisted on going through with the idea of pretending to be a couple.

What Woo Zhengyang didn't expect, though, was that this pretend relationship would lead to an actual kiss—right on the lips.

...

In this awkward atmosphere, the Golden Scale Boat flew for two days and nights, finally reaching the Ice Heart Sect's territory. This was Woo Zhengyang's first time leaving the area of the Heavenly Martial Sect, now known as the Profound Heaven Sect, except for a brief visit to a unique sealed location. The scenery of the Ice Heart Sect left him in awe.

Woo Zhengyang had thought "Ice Heart Sect" was just a name, but the view before him made it clear that the name was well-deserved.

Ice mountains!

The entire region of the Ice Heart Sect was filled with ice mountains. From above, they stretched endlessly, crystal clear and breathtakingly beautiful yet majestic.

The most remarkable thing was that these ice mountains weren't lifeless. They were adorned with vibrant, unique flowers and plants. These plants were even more lush and enormous than those growing on land. Woo Zhengyang saw a gigantic lotus flower, towering like a tree, perched atop one of the ice mountains.

"Wow, have you ever seen anything like this?" Bing Yue finally found a chance to ease the awkwardness, walking over with a playful smile.

"No, the world is truly full of wonders," Woo Zhengyang marveled.

The place where the seal was kept had shown Woo Zhengyang many grand sights: the vast expanse of the Myriad Desolate Mountain, the barrier bamboo forest that could make a person feel infinitely small, the mysterious ancestral lands, even the first city of the Human Clan, and the sacred Profound Mountain.

But those places, though magnificent, lacked the beauty of the enchanting glacier before them.

"Our Ice Heart Sect's founding ancestor chose this spot for its beauty and established our sect here. It's said he fought fiercely against several powerful martial emperors to claim it. Unfortunately, the glory of the past is gone, and now our Ice Heart Sect is bullied by a minor sect like the Yin Yang Sect..."

"Time changes everything; there are highs and lows, so don't dwell on it too much," Woo Zhengyang consoled. Even the ancestral lands of humanity have changed, and the Holy City is not what it once was.

"Hey... what do you mean by highs and lows, don't dwell on it? Are you saying my Ice Heart Sect has already had its peak and should now wither under my leadership?" Bing Yue retorted, displeased.

"Uh... that's not what I meant... I was just trying to comfort you..." Woo Zhengyang replied, embarrassed, not expecting his words to be misunderstood.

“Ha ha... So you do have an awkward side, huh? That's more like it... ha ha...”

“What do you mean?” Woo Zhengyang was puzzled by Bing Yue.

“I know you were trying to comfort me, and I wasn't upset. But your panicked look just now was really adorable.”

“What's so cute about that...” Woo Zhengyang replied, a bit annoyed.

“Ever since I met you, you've always been so calm and collected, like you have everything under control. You don't seem like someone who's not even twenty yet, more like an old soul who's lived for centuries. Only when you showed that moment of panic did you seem a bit youthful and naturally charming!”

“Uh...”

Bing Yue's words made Woo Zhengyang pause. Ever since he got that golden vortex, his mindset had shifted. With all the experiences that followed, especially the journey to the sealed land, his maturity had grown rapidly, making him quite different from the average teenager.

But if asked how he was different, Woo Zhengyang couldn't quite put his finger on it. Youthful passion? Recklessness? Boldness? He felt he still had these traits deep down, yet something seemed missing.

“But that's what makes you great. Around you, I feel more like a young woman. I've never felt this way before, hee hee... It feels perfectly natural to call you Mr. Zhengyang.” Bing Yue giggled again.

Woo Zhengyang was at a loss for words, but Bing Yue's joking remark revealed her underlying struggles. Due to the rare flower she encountered, Bing Yue's cultivation speed far surpassed that of her peers, and even some much older than her couldn't match her progress. Her childhood friends might still be mere Martial Disciples...

Especially after she became the leader of the Ice Heart Sect, she found herself surrounded by seasoned veterans. Even Huo Dongsheng, who pursued her, though he appeared young, was actually over two hundred years old.

Living in a world dominated by those much older and being admired by her peers might be what many aspire to, but once experienced, it can feel... quite lonely.

Woo Zhengyang, thanks to his unique experiences, was used to interacting with prodigies and didn't find anything unusual. However, for Bing Yue, it was the first time she could relate to someone her own age. Even though this peer was younger and didn't always act like a typical young person, at least he was of her kind.

Perhaps this is why Bing Yue felt a unique connection to Woo Zhengyang...
