C740 A Secret That No One Knew about

In those ancient times, the might of the divine and demonic clans, along with the rising power of humans and mythical creatures, was beyond imagination. Their battles could easily turn vast lands into desolate wastelands. The clashes between the strongest could stir oceans and split mountains as if it were nothing.

Unfortunately, the burial ground Fuxi built for hundreds of warrior emperors and a revered figure was situated in what seemed to be a battleground for these titanic forces. When Fuxi had his powers, this was of no concern. But now, stripped of his abilities, he found himself abandoned in a massive abyss, surrounded by sheer cliffs.

It's no wonder that after all these years, no one has ventured here. For the deceased, it was a blessing, but for Fuxi, it was a torment. He couldn't leave even if he wanted to. Endless years passed, filled with solitude.

Fuxi couldn't recall how many years he spent gathering stones, carving them into headstones and sarcophagi for the warrior emperors. He also couldn't remember how long it took to craft a tomb for the revered figure and began writing eulogies like diary entries.

Fuxi had done everything he could. His body remained incredibly strong, and it seemed he might continue to live for countless more years.

Sometimes, wrapped in the torment of loneliness, Fuxi felt an overwhelming urge to drive a sword through his own heart and crawl into the stone coffin he had prepared for himself, longing to be with his beloved. Yet, the pride of being a warrior emperor wouldn't allow him to take such a step.

Suffering and tormented, Fuxi lost track of time. No one had come to this place, and he still couldn't leave or die. One day, unable to endure the solitude and helplessness any longer, he decided to change everything. Even if he couldn't escape, he wanted to create some kind of disturbance, whether it attracted the rescue of the Human Clan or the wrath of gods and demons, he was ready for anything.

He could no longer cultivate energy or strengthen his body. Then, Fuxi remembered the restrictive techniques taught to him by Profound Mountain. These techniques were intricate and time-consuming, but they didn't rely on the practitioner's power. Instead, they depended on one's understanding of the universe and the balance of elements. Although Fuxi only had a rudimentary grasp of these techniques at the time, he had plenty of time to spare, which could alleviate the torment of loneliness.

So, Fuxi began to study these restrictive techniques. From having a basic understanding to becoming a novice, and eventually mastering them, he progressed rapidly. He had no idea how many years had passed during this journey.

The more Fuxi delved into the art of restrictions, the more he realized its profound depth. While it didn't enhance his own cultivation, mastering it allowed him to harness any restriction for his own use. Whatever his cultivation could achieve, the art of restrictions could accomplish as well.

With his expertise in restrictions, Fuxi could cause a stir in his surroundings, which was his original intention, though he had since forgotten. Tirelessly, day and night, Fuxi sought the source of these restrictions, striving to simplify them so they could be used in combat, movement, and even flight.

One day, it was as if a light bulb went off in his head. Fuxi discovered a method to significantly simplify restrictions without losing much of their power. This was the birth of formations!

After developing formations, Fuxi could have left the place, but he chose to stay, never stepping out of the chamber he was in. Whether it was obsession or madness, Fuxi lost himself in the study of formations. Using them in battle no longer satisfied his ambition; he wanted formations to achieve what neither energy cultivators nor body tempering practitioners could.

Thus, the teleportation formation was born. From solitude to obsession, time flew by, and the years slipped away.

When Fuxi left the tomb once more, countless millennia had passed. What was once an abyss was now filled by a massive glacier. Breaking through the ice, Fuxi intended to find the Profound Mountain, continue battling the divine and demonic forces, and share his insights on barriers and formations with others.

However, he was surprised to discover that the world had drastically changed. The divine and demonic races had been driven away, and the powerful among humans and other beings had pursued them. The entire world was now enveloped in barriers.

Given Fuxi's expertise with barriers at the time, breaking through the world's constraints would have been easy. His mastery, though originating from the Profound Mountain, had evolved over the years, surpassing its teachings and making his formations remarkably effective for everyday use.

Yet, Fuxi did not rush to leave. Although the divine and demonic races had been repelled, they were not entirely eradicated. With the Profound Mountain and many powerful figures gone without a trace, the future of humanity remained uncertain. Fuxi decided to contribute to humanity by spreading his knowledge of formations before departing.

To perfect these formations, Fuxi spent considerable time refining them, ultimately simplifying them so that any dedicated practitioner could learn.

At this point in time, even Fuxi, who possessed endless longevity, had reached the twilight of his years. When he appeared before the world, he was already an elderly figure. While spreading the knowledge of formations, Fuxi never forgot the place that had shaped his understanding of these arts, nor the loved ones and comrades buried there. He returned once more beneath the glacier, using his unique mastery of formations to redesign the cemetery. Layers of defensive formations, enchanting landscapes, and the distinctive ice and warm water were all part of his creation.

After reading the inscriptions on the tomb walls, Woo Zhengyang and Bing Yue couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. They only knew Fuxi as the founder of formation arts, who had paved the way with his mastery and transcended the mortal realm. They never imagined he had such an unknown story. In this small tomb, Fuxi had endured countless years of solitude and rigorous practice, ultimately achieving greatness and making a remarkable impact despite his frail condition.

Amidst their reflections, the two felt a surge of excitement, for they had discovered a way to leave this place within the inscriptions. At the end of the writings, Fuxi made a special request: if anyone found their way here, it was only because his skills in formations were still lacking. He asked them not to disturb the site, as there were no treasures to be found. To show his sincerity, he left all his insights on formations and a teleportation array within the bronze coffin...

Upon opening the bronze chamber, a normally-sized bronze coffin was revealed inside. It was clear that this was the resting place of Fuxi's beloved, Nuwa.

In front of the bronze coffin were some simple offerings, a jade slip, and a teleportation array. The jade slip contained all of Fuxi's insights into formations, and the teleportation array was a fully developed one, likely constructed by Fuxi later on.

After offering some tributes to Nuwa's coffin, Woo Zhengyang and Bing Yue stepped into the teleportation array. With a flash of light, the two vanished from the bronze chamber, which then returned to its original state under a mysterious force.
