C743 Myriad Connection Association

After the first great cataclysm, the entire continent shattered into thirty-six fragments. These fragments, while drifting apart, never truly separated and remained in a state of near detachment. Though they couldn't compare to the central continent, they offered a serene and simple charm, resembling a hidden paradise.

As a result, some factions on these fragments chose to migrate to the central continent, while others stayed. Interestingly, many factions originally from the central continent decided to move to the thirty-six regions, establishing their own domains.

The Golden Scale Sect was one such faction that migrated from the central continent. Legend has it that the Golden Scale Sect was a superpower at the time, boasting dozens of martial emperors, with its founding ancestor being a titled martial emperor. Upon arriving in the Golden Scale Domain, this titled martial emperor was first drawn to the ancient Hibernation Dragon City and the Hibernation Dragon Mountains.

Unfortunately, the Golden Scale Domain was originally an eastern fragment of the world, and the Hibernation Dragon Mountains were located at the farthest east. Establishing a stronghold there would make it difficult to connect with unique regions, effectively isolating the Golden Scale Sect from the world. Reluctantly, the titled martial emperor established the new sect headquarters here. However, driven by his vision, he constructed a city reminiscent of Hibernation Dragon City, yet even grander—this is the Golden Scale City we see today.

"Hibernation Dragon City really is a remarkable place. The Heavenly Martial Sect's construction of Heavenly Martial City showed signs of imitating it, but the Golden Scale Sect took it even further, building an entire mountain range," Woo Zhengyang chuckled as he learned about the origins of the massive Golden Scale Mountains before him.

"Of course, it's a great place. It's said to have existed for ages and marks the boundary of this world."

"Boundary? If what Lee Yuanye said is true, and we live on a planet, there shouldn't be any boundary."

"A planet?" Bing Yue asked, puzzled. Although Woo Zhengyang had mentioned some of Lee Yuanye's ideas, he hadn't explained everything, so she wasn't familiar with this theory.

"It's like a giant sphere. According to him, whether it's the sun, moon, stars, or the continent we live on, it should all be part of a huge sphere. If you keep walking in a straight line, you'd eventually return to the same spot, so where's the boundary?"

"That's an interesting perspective..." Bing Yue remarked, intrigued.

"I used to think it was absurd too, but you've seen it yourself. Inside my Star Bead, the Hundred Flower World is indeed a spherical world, just like Lee Yuanye described."

"But that's just a small world. The one we live in is the larger world. Think about it: if our world were a sphere, how would there be talk of the Central State and the Thirty-Six Domains?"

"Lee Yuanye mentioned that too. He believes the so-called world fractures are just the movement of landmasses. Whether caused by natural disasters or human actions, it's just continents shifting and being separated by oceans. He even talked about a place he was from called Earth, which supposedly had seven continents and eight oceans."

“Separated by the ocean? That's an interesting way to put it, but around here... it's clearly not like that.”

“Not like that... then how is it?”

Woo Zhengyang didn't have much of a concept of the Thirty-Six Domains and the Central Continent, so after hearing Lee Yuanye's logical analysis, he gradually started to believe him. Now, Bing Yue was telling him that everything wasn't as it seemed, leaving Woo Zhengyang confused again.

“Hehe, you'll find out soon enough. We're almost at Hibernation Dragon City, so let's get ready to land!” Bing Yue teased.

“Alright!” Woo Zhengyang agreed, starting to guide the Golden Scale Boat down. Most large cities prohibit flying and martial arts, especially the core city of the entire Golden Scale Domain.

After putting away the Golden Scale Boat, they stepped toward Golden Scale City. With the Golden Scale Token left by Hee Wanli, they easily entered the city.

“Zhengyang, didn't you say Hee Wanli might have ulterior motives for you? Why are you using the Golden Scale Token he gave you? Aren't you worried he'll track your movements?” Bing Yue asked, puzzled by Woo Zhengyang's decision to use the token.

“This is his territory. Whether we use the Golden Scale Token or not, if he wants to track us, it would be easy for him.”

“True, so we don't need to be overly cautious. Let's enjoy the sights of Golden Scale City.”

"Yes, you can learn a lot about a place from its history. We're not in a rush, so staying here a few more days might help us find any leads on Wu'er."

"That would be great. Last time I passed through, I didn't get a chance to explore properly. But finding Wu'er on our own is a tall order."

"What do you mean? Is there a better way?"

"There is. Don't forget, this is the largest city in the entire region. Whatever you need, you can find it here. Whether it's finding someone or something more sinister, like wiping out a family or an entire faction, as long as you're willing to pay the price, it can be done."

"Wiping out a faction? Who would take on such a task?" Woo Zhengyang asked in disbelief. He could understand a vendetta, but annihilating a whole faction seemed terrifying.

"Hard to believe, right? But it's true. The ones who take on these tasks aren't individuals; it's an organization called the Myriad Connection Association."

"Myriad Connection Association? Why call it an association?" Woo Zhengyang was puzzled. Usually, a group with enough power would call themselves a sect or guild, but this name seemed too simplistic.

"They call it an association, but it was established in ancient times and doesn't follow our current hierarchy. The Myriad Connection Association is said to be capable of anything. It's rumored they've even taken down Martial Emperors. Compared to that, wiping out a faction is child's play."

"Can they really do anything? Does that mean they'll definitely help me find Wu'er? What if they can't?"

"Finding someone isn't a big deal for them. They usually charge some spirit crystals for it. As for what happens if they can't find the person, it depends on whether you've set a time limit. If there's a time limit and they fail, they'll return the spirit crystals."

"That's surprisingly fair," Woo Zhengyang remarked, a bit taken aback.

"Fair? It certainly is fair..." Bing Yue replied with a smile.

"Why are you smiling? Are you saying that if they don't complete the task on time, they won't return the spirit crystals?"

"No, that's not it. It's just that, generally, no one sets a time limit with the Myriad Connection Association."
