C750 The Lover's Throne

"Security features?"

Woo Zhengyang asked as he carefully examined the so-called ticket, unable to spot any security features.

"Come on, don't get obsessed with it. They say these tickets can't be scrutinized too closely, or they'll self-destruct," Bing Yue quickly interjected, noticing Zhengyang's interest.

"The more you say, the stranger it sounds," Zhengyang chuckled, shaking his head.

Despite his curiosity, Zhengyang decided not to investigate further. He and Bing Yue followed the signs to the boarding area for the hovercraft...

The so-called "lovers' seats" didn't mean the two of them had an entire compartment to themselves. Instead, the large compartment was divided into six small sections, each with a comfortable bench and a simple table topped with some fruit and snacks.

What made these little rooms unique was the small window in each, which, according to the young attendant, was there to view the spectacular sights outside.

The entire hovercraft was wrapped in a special protective system, ensuring safety even when passing through the lava fields. In fact, passengers could enjoy the view of the hovercraft gliding through the molten landscape.

After briefly asking if Zhengyang and Bing Yue needed anything else, the attendant left. Bing Yue eagerly pulled Zhengyang to the seat, her eyes darting around with the excitement of a little girl.

"The couple's seats are really something else. Last time, I was crammed with about twenty people in a dark, dingy car. This is like night and day."

"Well, of course, it’s different. A regular seat only costs a low-grade spirit crystal, while we spent a high-grade one here, which is a hundred times more!" Woo Zhengyang said, feigning a look of pain.

"Hmph! I guess your little sister is the most important to you. You’d spend a hundred top-grade spirit crystals on her, but you begrudge spending even one high-grade one on me," Bing Yue pouted, feeling a bit jealous.

"Haha... If you ever disappeared, I might just spend a hundred top-grade spirit crystals to find you."

"Really?" Bing Yue jumped up, her face lighting up with excitement at Woo Zhengyang's words.

"Uh... it’s true, but please don’t go missing. I don’t actually have a hundred top-grade spirit crystals right now..." Woo Zhengyang quickly added. He knew that when Bing Yue got an idea in her head, she was unstoppable, and he was worried she might test him by doing something drastic.

"Hehe, just hearing you say that is enough. Come here, I've got a reward for you," Bing Yue said, suddenly leaping onto Woo Zhengyang and planting a kiss on his cheek.

After the kiss, Bing Yue realized she might have been a bit too impulsive. Blushing, she buried her head in Woo Zhengyang's chest and said softly, "Don't worry, as long as you don't want me to leave, I won't go anywhere..."

Woo Zhengyang stood there, speechless and a bit helpless. The arrangement between him and Bing Yue should have ended long ago, but their relationship remained ambiguous and undefined.

Zhengyang had thought about making a change, but he couldn't just bluntly tell a woman to stop clinging to him. Such words would be too harsh, especially for someone with Bing Yue's passionate and intense personality. He didn't want to be the reason she changed who she was.

The main issue was that, over time, Zhengyang noticed a shift in his own feelings toward Bing Yue. Despite repeatedly reminding himself that he already had someone else, and that he shouldn't develop feelings for another woman, he found it increasingly difficult to control his emotions.

Being with Bing Yue brought him joy, but also a lot of inner turmoil. He tried to change the situation but found himself unable to, caught in a cycle of conflicting emotions...

As Bing Yue nestled into his arms, Woo Zhengyang felt a tug-of-war in his heart. One voice urged him, "This woman likes you. Haven't you noticed over these past days? Hold her tight!"

But another voice countered, "Push her away. Don't forget, you already have Zhiwu. She's the one you truly love, the one you're connected to. And now that she's vanished, here you are, holding another woman. Are you really being true to yourself?"

The first voice insisted, "Liking someone is just that—liking them. Follow your heart. You love Loong Zhiwu, but does that mean you can't care for Bing Yue too? With Loong Zhiwu missing, you're worried and searching. Aren't you afraid that by doing nothing, you'll also lose Bing Yue? Would you really be okay with that? Do you want to realize what you had only after it's gone?"

The opposing voice argued back, "Following your heart doesn't mean clinging to another woman right after the one you love disappears. A real man knows what to do and what not to do. Protect what you should, restrain yourself when needed. You've already lost what you should have protected. Do you want to lose your self-control too?"

These conflicting thoughts battled in Woo Zhengyang's mind, leaving him with a throbbing headache.

Since his personality shift, Woo Zhengyang felt fearless, unafraid of challenges or even life and death. But recently, he realized he had a vulnerability—his emotions. When it came to feelings, he was often at a loss, perhaps because he grew up without family around. He was terrified of losing those close to him, especially those who treated him well. This fear made him indecisive in matters of the heart.

Facing enemies, Zhengyang could act without hesitation, not even blinking. But when it came to those he cared about, he couldn't even muster a harsh word, let alone take action. He was unsure whether to change or continue as he was, so he struggled, hoping one day he'd understand everything and make the right decision.

Bing Yue could see Zhengyang's internal struggle. No matter how playful she was, she never pushed him too far. Like this time, she stayed in his arms for a moment before stepping back, casually picking up some fruit from the table. As she ate, she teased him, "Why are you just standing there? Did my kiss leave you dazed? Feeling parched? Have some fruit to quench your thirst!"

As she spoke, Bing Yue tossed a piece of fruit over. Woo Zhengyang caught it effortlessly, noticing a small bite taken out of it. The neat little teeth marks were unmistakably Bing Yue's doing. With a wry smile, Zhengyang shook his head and sat down beside Bing Yue, slowly savoring the fruit.
