C760 Luck Has Come

Whether temporary or permanent, the power of the void is entirely different from the forces of this world. When immense power strikes the void, it vanishes without a trace, as if absorbed. This illustrates the difficulty of shattering the void. Even Profound Mountain, with the power to create and destroy worlds, cannot harm it, let alone break it.

Naturally, Woo Zhengyang doesn't entertain the idea of breaking the void. If even the ancestor Profound Mountain couldn't achieve it, it's not something he considers. He's simply intrigued by the void; even if he can't fully understand it, learning more is beneficial.

Patriarch Fuxi, a follower of the ancestor Profound Mountain, didn't blindly accept Profound Mountain's views. During his study of formations, Fuxi accidentally broke through a section of the void, sparking his research. Through repeated breaking and restoring, he discovered that the void's power truly opposes the world we live in, just as Profound Mountain suggested. This power is wild, rampant, yet incredibly strong.

As a researcher of formations, Patriarch Fuxi's studies were rooted in and aimed to enhance formations. Upon realizing the void's strength, he sought to harness its power to develop a new formation.

Unfortunately, harnessing the power of the void proved to be a daunting task. Patriarch Fuxi spent many years on it but couldn't establish a formation to channel this power. However, he didn't let his efforts go to waste and documented his findings for future attempts.

Fortuitously, Woo Zhengyang came across these insights. In this documentation, Patriarch Fuxi not only recorded everything he discovered about the void power but also included descriptions of Profound Mountain's initial explorations into it. One was the progenitor of the Human Clan, the other a pioneer in formations. The value of their research on the void is beyond imagination. Woo Zhengyang couldn't fathom the upheaval it would cause if it fell into the wrong hands; even the strongest Martial Emperors would be tempted.

As he delved deeper, a new world began to reveal itself to Woo Zhengyang, albeit just a sliver. The gap was so narrow that not even a finger could fit through, let alone allow entry. Yet, for Woo Zhengyang, this small opening was enough for him to make temporary use of it.

Returning from his trance with the jade slip, Woo Zhengyang was too excited to rest. He quickly exchanged a few words with Bing Yue and then settled into a corner, sitting cross-legged. He opened his body's defenses and guided a stream of void power into himself.

At this moment, Woo Zhengyang didn't rush to engage or comprehend the situation. Instead, he summoned the sword energy within him, gradually releasing an aura of hostility. As this intent spread, the Void Power, which had initially resisted his presence, became noticeably more accommodating.

"It’s working!" Zhengyang thought, elated. He continued to slowly amplify his hostile intent, cautiously attempting to connect with the Void Power...

"What’s going on?" Behind him, Bing Yue sensed a sudden surge of fierce energy emanating from Zhengyang and sprang to his feet. He assumed Zhengyang was in danger and wanted to help, but he was unsure how to intervene. Any threat seemed to be internal, possibly within Zhengyang's consciousness, making it impossible for outsiders to interfere safely.

Fortunately, Bing Yue noticed that although the fierce energy was steadily rising, it was doing so in a controlled manner, as if by design. "It must be under his control! Could it be that the Void Power requires brute force to conquer?" Bing Yue pondered, unwilling to stray far from Zhengyang, ready to assist at any moment.

As time passed, the intensity of Zhengyang's hostile aura stabilized, allowing Bing Yue to finally relax. "Ah! What luck... or maybe misfortune... no, definitely luck..." Bing Yue muttered under his breath, suddenly darting toward the control platform of the formation.

Just moments ago, a Void Stone drifted into their area, entering the range where it could be drawn in. Unfortunately, Bing Yue, focused on protecting Woo Zhengyang, didn't notice the Void Stone until it was already moving again, about to leave the range where it could be captured.

In a flurry, Bing Yue rushed over and pressed the control switch for the formation. As soon as she did, the outermost barrier of the small world vanished, and a force appeared, attracting the nearby void. The Void Stone, which was drifting away, stopped under this force.

Bing Yue's heart was in her throat, her hands clenched tightly, and she bit her lower lip. The Void Stone moved again, but sadly, it continued forward. It had drifted too far, and the formation's pull wasn't strong enough to draw it into the small world's layer.

"Just my luck... Is this fortunate or unfortunate? You might as well not have come by at all!" Bing Yue pouted, watching the Void Stone drift farther away, her frustration evident.

Woo Zhengyang had no idea that a Void Stone had wandered into his area, causing Bing Yue to stomp her feet in exasperation.

He was fully engaged in a fierce battle with the Void Power. Drawing from the insights of Patriarch Fuxi and the founder of Profound Mountain, Woo Zhengyang employed their suggested methods to create an illusion of killing intent with his own strength. Using this illusion, he gradually began to touch the mysterious Void Power.

However, the Void Power was very familiar with his strength. Although the illusion Woo Zhengyang conjured was similar, it was still fundamentally a force of this world. Upon contact, the Void Power immediately began to reject him. At this point, all illusions were useless, and brute force was the only option.

Woo Zhengyang first enveloped the Void Power with his sword energy, then contracted it with all his might, leaving the Void Power with nowhere to go. Yet, the strength of the Void Power was beyond his imagination. Even though this particular Void Power was weakened and only a small portion, it was still fundamentally opposed to the forces of this world, like fire and water.

Woo Zhengyang's strength was just a small part of this world's power, not on the same level as the Void Power. To trap it, he had to nearly exhaust his sword energy. But what good was trapping it? Woo Zhengyang still couldn't truly grasp or feel the Void Power, and he was continuously depleting his sword energy. Once it was completely consumed, all his efforts would be in vain.

Woo Zhengyang, feeling as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof, finally focused his attention on his own core. There, a small, crystal-clear sword spun rapidly...
