C770 It Was Them

"Never heard of the Huo family name? Where did you encounter them?" the elder of the Huo family asked with little interest.

"It was right here in our district. Those two were quite bold, acting like they owned the place!" Huo Dongcheng replied, clearly frustrated.

"That's interesting... But you mentioned two people? Are you interested in both?"

"No, no... Of course not. It's a man and a woman, Great-Grandfather!"

"A man and a woman, and you're thinking of taking them by force? Even if you did, a woman who's already been married can't become a part of our family."

"You misunderstand, Great-Grandfather. Though they call themselves a couple, I observed that the woman is clearly untouched. She must have brought the man along to avoid me."

"Not necessarily. They could just be dating and not yet married."

"Impossible. That woman is a Martial King expert. There's no way she would marry a mere Shape Gathering Stage novice. I bet he's either her student or a younger relative."

As soon as Huo Dongcheng said this, the elder remained still, but Feng Ji, who was lying on the bed, suddenly sat up, letting the silk blanket slide off, revealing much of her chest without a care.

"Master Dongcheng, are you saying the woman you met is a Martial King expert and the man is just a Shape Gathering Stage novice? And they call themselves a couple?" Feng Ji questioned.

Feng Ji's words suddenly made the elder of the Huo family recall what she had mentioned earlier. Could it be that this man and woman were the ones who detained Huo Dongsheng and then sent Yang Pei to the Acacia Sect? If that's the case, it makes sense that they don't know much about the Huo family, as they aren't from around here.

"Yes!" Huo Dongcheng replied, his eyes involuntarily drawn to Feng Ji's alluring figure. He swallowed hard. He had seen and even touched her before, more than once. Yet, Feng Ji maintained her allure so well and was so skilled in the art of seduction that he always found himself captivated. If he hadn't just been dazzled by Bing Yue's beauty, he might already be plotting to get Feng Ji into his room.

Feng Ji, unconcerned with her revealing attire, continued, "What did the man and woman look like?"

"The woman was absolutely stunning, every bit as beautiful as you, Feng Ji, with an added touch of shy charm. As for the guy, he seemed pretty ordinary, just a young kid with a sword strapped to his back."

"It must be them!" Feng Ji was now certain that the people Huo Dongcheng encountered were Woo Zhengyang and Bing Yue. After all, not many people walk around with a sword on their back, especially alongside a breathtaking beauty. It couldn't be anyone else.

"Are you sure? They're the ones who detained Huo Dongsheng?" the elder of the Huo family interjected.

Feng Ji nodded and continued to ask Huo Dongcheng, "Besides those two, did you notice a woman in red with them, someone with a dangerously captivating appearance?"

"No... What did you mean just now? Dongsheng got captured? And it was those two who did it?"

"That's right. They're not from the Limitless Domain; they're from the Golden Scale Domain. I don't know the man, but the woman you saw is named Bing Yue. She's the leader of a sect called the Ice Heart Sect. Young Master Dongsheng went after her to the Golden Scale Domain and never came back."

"Haha... Well, this works out. I was thinking of finding a quiet place to make my move, and now it seems we have a reason to act. It seems Dongsheng and I have similar tastes, but this time, if I make my move and save him, he surely won't compete with me, right?"

"Master Dongcheng, don't act rashly. They have..." Feng Ji was about to mention that they had a martial expert with them, but the elder from the Huo family stopped her.

"Dongcheng, as Feng Ji said, it's best not to act impulsively. Even though outwardly they seem insignificant, being from a small sect in the Golden Scale Domain, they might have some special tricks up their sleeves, or even a martial expert with them," the Huo family elder advised, half-seriously.

“Great-grandpa, you must be joking! A small place like Golden Scale Domain only has two Martial King experts. How could they possibly detain Dongsheng, especially if they know about our Huo family?” Huo Dongcheng was skeptical.

“Just be careful. This might not be as simple as it seems,” the elder of the Huo family advised.

“I understand, Great-grandpa!” Huo Dongcheng replied, but it was clear he had no intention of backing down as he eagerly left...

...

“Elder Huo, just now...” After Huo Dongcheng left, Feng Ji hesitated before asking.

“You want to know why I didn’t let you mention that the young man has a Martial King with him?” the elder chuckled.

“Yes!”

“You know, even though Huo Dongcheng calls me Great-grandpa, his real great-grandfather is my brother, Huo Tianxin. Because of this connection, he’s been causing trouble all over Tianxin District and even in Limitless City. If this incident teaches him a lesson, it might curb his reckless behavior,” the elder explained.

“I see, Elder Huo, you’ve thought this through!” Feng Ji nodded slightly, a subtle smile playing on her lips.

However, she didn’t believe a word of what Elder Huo said. In the Huo family, the strongest pillar is undoubtedly the Supreme Elder of the Limitless Sect, Huo Tianxin.

Huo Tianxin was a maverick, a true devotee to his craft, uninterested in the mundane affairs of life. Even the role of Sect Master couldn't hold his attention for long. It’s said that when Huo Tianxin first reached the pinnacle of martial prowess, he defeated his senior brother, who was the Sect Master of the time, to claim the position for himself.

However, it didn’t take long for Huo Tianxin to realize the position came with endless trivialities. Disliking the distractions, he appointed someone else to handle the day-to-day matters, allowing him to focus solely on his training.

Despite delegating, the responsibilities of a Sect Master were unavoidable. This led Huo Tianxin to step down shortly after, choosing instead to become the Grand Elder of the sect.

As for family matters, Huo Tianxin was even less interested. He entrusted everything to his brother, the elderly man standing before us now.

On the surface, the Huo family seemed to dominate the Tianxin region with an impressive reputation. But those who truly understood knew that the depths of the Huo family’s affairs were far more complex than they appeared.
