C88 Formation Dao(1)
Under the suppression of the formation's power, Woo Zhengyang's sword movements were slow, but the speed of the sword's energy was hardly affected. In an instant, the sword energy was already at Gongyang Qiusheng's brow.
Startled, Gongyang Qiusheng quickly tilted his head to dodge, and the sword energy grazed past, slicing off a lock of his hair. With his long hair partially cut, Gongyang Qiusheng looked rather disheveled, but he was too shocked to care about his appearance.
"Sword energy... how is this possible... only a martial artist can do this! Aren't you practicing the Body Tempering Technique?"
Woo Zhengyang had no intention of answering his questions. With a flick of his sword, he turned a thrust into a slash. The sword moved slowly, yet a sword arc shot out from the Blue Frost Sword, speeding towards Gongyang Qiusheng.
"Hmph!" Gongyang Qiusheng snorted, using his footwork to evade the sword arc, scoffing, "Last time, I was caught off guard by your sneak attack. Do you really think you can harm me again within my own formation?"
At this, Gongyang Qiusheng's smile returned, his eyes revealing undisguised greed as he continued, "It seems you have quite a few treasures on you. My careful planning wasn't in vain, haha..."
"Petty tricks! With your mindset, you'll never truly grasp the path of a warrior or the art of formations!" Woo Zhengyang couldn't stand their arrogance any longer and retorted sharply.
“Doesn't matter if it's a trick or a trap, you're stuck here with me, trying to kill with that sword? I won't let you, not even if you try to end it yourself!”
“Oh, really?” Woo Zhengyang replied, suddenly speeding up his sword strikes. In a flash, several swift slashes were aimed at his opponent.
Gongyang Qiusheng, used to Woo Zhengyang's slow and deliberate attacks, was caught off guard. The sudden burst of sword energy struck him, leaving several bleeding wounds. They weren't fatal, but he was left in a sorry state.
At first, Woo Zhengyang was indeed trapped by the formation. But formations are just a way to harness the forces of nature, much like the final nine steps of the Profound Heavy Mountain's eighty-one-step path.
Woo Zhengyang had unlocked the secrets of the four-word sword technique at Profound Heavy Mountain, each strike infused with the power of nature, breaking through the mountain's oppressive force.
Gongyang Qiusheng's formation skills were rudimentary and couldn't compare to the mountain's pressure. Woo Zhengyang dismantled it with just two strikes.
“How... how is this possible... my formation was broken...” Gongyang Qiusheng was once again filled with fear.
“I told you, you're not ready!”
“Hmph! Even without the formation, you're still no match for me!” Gongyang Qiusheng scoffed, dropping his Green Steel Sword. In a flash of light, he drew another weapon, a Green Frost Sword.
"I can't believe I'm using the same sword as someone like you. Forget it, my fists are enough to deal with you!" Woo Zhengyang said as he put away his Green Steel Sword.
"Scoundrel!" Gongyang Qiusheng shouted in fury, thrusting his sword toward Woo Zhengyang.
Woo Zhengyang smiled slightly and reached out to grab Gongyang Qiusheng's sword.
"Arrogant fool!" Gongyang Qiusheng yelled, as his sword suddenly glowed, revealing a skill he had unknowingly executed.
Woo Zhengyang remained unfazed. If Gongyang Qiusheng had a magical weapon or had mastered his sword skills to perfection, Woo might have been concerned, but it was clear Gongyang Qiusheng had not.
The sound of metal clashing rang out, but Woo Zhengyang's expression didn't change, while Gongyang Qiusheng's eyes widened in disbelief.
"This... how is this possible..." Gongyang Qiusheng couldn't believe it. He never imagined someone could catch his Green Steel Sword with just their bare hand.
"Arrogance requires skill," Woo Zhengyang said softly, pulling the sword from Gongyang Qiusheng's grip and landing a punch squarely at his chest.
At that moment, Gongyang Qiusheng's confidence shattered. The sight of Woo Zhengyang catching his sword with one hand struck him deeply.
As Woo Zhengyang held the sword and his punch came flying, Gongyang Qiusheng abruptly halted, his body gracefully leaping into the air.
Woo Zhengyang initially planned to use his Profound Heavy Power for a quick victory, but Gongyang Qiusheng was cautious and stayed out of range. Seeing this, Woo Zhengyang decided to change tactics. He withdrew his fist and grabbed Gongyang Qiusheng's Green Steel Sword with both hands, forcefully slamming it to the ground.
In mid-air, Gongyang Qiusheng had no leverage. If he hit the ground, it would be a humiliating defeat with no chance of recovery. With no other choice, he released the Green Steel Sword mid-flight, allowing himself to land at a distance and quickly turned to flee.
Gongyang Qiusheng was a calculating person who avoided unnecessary risks. Since Woo Zhengyang was so formidable, he decided it was best not to provoke him further. After all, the people from the Heavenly Martial Academy would deal with him eventually.
As the sword suddenly loosened, Woo Zhengyang watched Gongyang Qiusheng retreat without looking back. Casually storing the Green Steel Sword in his Hidden Heaven Bag, Woo Zhengyang activated his Floating Light Step and pursued him closely.
