Now that there was Gu Tai in charge, there were a total of five vice heads, the other four were not convinced, because they were all eighth ranked pill masters. Even though Gu Tai was a little older, he was not the Sect Leader. Naturally, there were some people who refused to accept the vice sect master's decision.

Where the Gu family's reaction was, Duan Ru Yue could also see that it was difficult to manage a large sect just because of its high pressure policy. The Gu family needed virtue to conquer the people, so Duan Ru Yue came up with a solution.

Then he passed his rank 9 pill refining skills to the five of them. With the time limit of three months, the first person to reach the rank 9 pill refiner would be the Sect Leader of the Pill Sect. The other four people had to obey him unconditionally, otherwise, Duan Meng would have no choice but to kill him.

All five of them had mastered the basics of refining a Grade 9 pill. Now, the most important thing was to concoct a Grade 9 pill in time, and quickly at that. If they were unable to concoct a Tier 9 spiritual pill within three months, all five of them would lose their qualifications to do so. Duan Jian had to think of other ways.

Time passed by very quickly. Three months went by in the blink of an eye. As expected, none of the five people succeeded in refining a rank 9 pill. Although Gu Tai was a bit better, he failed repeatedly. However, Gu Tai's level was still considered good. The other four pill concocting water products had always been stuck at the level of a Tier 8 pill refiner.

Gu Tai was looking forward to it at first, as he thought that rank 9 was only a grade 1 alchemist, and that it would be easy to break through. However, after three months of sudden cultivation, the five of them deeply felt that rank 9 alchemists were indeed difficult, and the hardest thing was the use of soul force.

To refine a Spiritual Energy Pill, one has to use soul power from the seventh rank. Those who didn't have enough soul power were unable to refine a Tier 7 spiritual pill. Upon reaching tier 8, one would need an even stronger soul. This was because a pill spirit had already appeared in the midst of forging a grade-8 pill. Even though a Grade 8 Elixir was not enough to have a high intelligence, there was still a Elixir. The Elixir of the Grade 9 Elixir pill had a considerable amount of wisdom.

This requires an alchemist to infuse a considerable amount of soul power. If one's soul power is insufficient, the alchemist will often be extracted from their own soul and die. Even though there were no dangers in the field of alchemy, crafting low grade spiritual pills was a huge risk when refining a Tier 9 or 10 spiritual pills.

The reason why Duan Yi's master, Zhang Peigu, was crippled was because he had refined a Tier 10 spiritual pill and his soul had been forcefully extracted by the pill. If it wasn't for Duan Lian who refined a Tier 10 soul pill and healed Zhang Peigu, Zhang Peigu would be crippled for the rest of his life.

None of the five of them managed to refine a Grade 9 Spirit Pill within three months, so Duan Ling Tian couldn't help but feel disappointed and frustrated. The position of Sect Leader of the Pill Sect could only be temporarily controlled by Master Gu, although the other four weren't too satisfied, but Duan Ru Yue had set a rule that no one could fulfill, and they were all convinced.

It was at this moment that the master of the Duan Clan, Zhang Bechu, arrived at Cold Ice City and found Duan Ru.

"Teacher, why have you come?" Duan Ru asked cordially.

"I heard about it when I was in town. You set up your Alchemy Sect in Cold Ice City and specialize in alchemy. My hands are itchy when I get better. Why don't you arrange something for me?"

Upon hearing this, Duan Ru Yue was overjoyed. "Master, it's great that you're here. I've established my Pill Sect and lack a Sect Leader. It's most appropriate that you're here." Zhang Peigu was reluctant.

"Duan Jing, I've been lazy and used to it ever since I was young. I'm not suitable to be the Sect Leader. If I do, I'll be a deputy."

"Master, I've set a rule for the Pill Sect. Among the five vice heads, whoever reaches the ninth stage first becomes a pill refiner, whoever becomes the head of the sect. However, after three months, the five of them won't have any hope at all, so I'm a little disappointed." Master, I've set a rule for the Pill Sect, that whoever reaches the ninth stage first becomes a pill refiner, who becomes the head of the sect.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Bie Gu had no choice but to agree. However, he had his own ideas.

"Duan Jing, how's the matter of me asking you to look for my Junior Sister?"

As his master spoke, Duan Ru Yue was slightly embarrassed. "Master, I couldn't find …"

"It's not that we couldn't find it, but you didn't look for it carefully, right?" Duan Meng could only admit it.

"Master, after I came to Cold Ice City, a series of things happened. I was too busy, so after a while, I'll look around. I can definitely do it."

Actually, Duan Ru also looked for it, but didn't find it, then gradually put it down. Because there were too many things happening in Cold Ice City. Now that his master had asked, Duan Meng could only speak the truth.

He had searched for it, but he couldn't find it. The Heavenly Sect's Qi Eye Art was like a ghost that couldn't be hidden from their eyes. Perhaps they would know that as long as he spent even a little bit of the Qi Pills, he would end up with a Grade 9 Qi Pills.

Zhang Bie Gu became the Sect Leader of the Pill Sect, and the five vice heads had no choice but to submit. Once they saw that Zhang Bai Gu was Duan Lian's teacher, none of them dared to disrespect him. Moreover, not only was Zhang Peigu a Tier 9 apothecary, he had also tried to concoct a Tier 10 spiritual pill. Even though he had failed, he still had the experience to concoct a Tier 10 spiritual pill.

This Tier 10 spiritual energy pill was definitely the most precious treasure within the spiritual energy pill. As long as a person reached the tribulation stage, they could consume a Tier 10 spiritual energy pill and immediately break through the bottleneck of the tribulation stage.

Zhang Bie Gu had wanted to refine a Tier 10 spiritual pill for you to use while transcending tribulation to the Immortal Realm, but Zhang Bie Gu had said that his power was too weak and his soul power was too weak, so his life was almost taken. This Tier 10 spiritual pill was an act that defied the will of the heavens, and he would be punished by the heavens, unless his own strength exceeded a certain limit, he would be let go.

After Zhang Bie Gu took over the position of Sect Leader, he set a rule that the five vice heads were the first ones to reach the level of a Grade 9 pill refiner. Gu Tai and the others felt very strange. Originally, he thought that since Duan Meng had found his own master to be the Sect Leader, there was no hope for him to become the Sect Leader. He didn't expect that the new Sect Leader would set such a rule.

Gu Tai and the others also knew that the most important thing in refining a Grade 9 spiritual pill wasn't the refining level, but the strength of one's own soul. In order to become a Tier 9 pill refiner, one must have a powerful soul.

The five of them were all focused on cultivating their pill refining skills. Now that Gu Jiu was narrow-minded, he asked Duan Jiran what was the best way to refine pills. The meaning was very clear, it was to get Duan Jiran's help.

"Young Master, I want a grade 10 soul pill. I wonder if Young Master would allow it?"

Duan Ru Yue chuckled; how could he not know the thoughts of Gu Tai?

I won't help anyone else. However, since you have come to ask me, it means that you are thoughtful, and I can teach you one way, which is, as long as you train yourself to a soul rank 9 pill refiner, you will be able to successfully become a rank 9 pill refiner.

When Gu Tai heard this, he was overjoyed. He immediately expressed his desire to learn, and Duan Ru passed his method of refining a grade 9 soul pill to Gu Tai. Gu Tai was also talented and intelligent. In just three months, he managed to refine a grade 9 soul pill. His own soul force also received a huge boost.

At the same time, Gu Tai began to consume a large amount of rank 9 soul pills to strengthen his soul. As expected, after three months, Gu Tai finally made the first rank 9 spiritual pill.

After Duan Yi's appraisal, although it was not perfect, it had still reached the ninth rank. Duan Ru Yue discussed it with his master and passed the position of sect head to the Gu family. The other four people were still vice heads. However, Duan Meng gave them a rule that in the future, if someone refined a Grade 9 pill, they could become the first Vice Sect Leader. And so on and so forth, the last person to learn would be the fourth Vice Sect Leader.

At this point, the upper echelons of the Pill Sect had stabilized, and there was no longer any competition for the position of sect head. After Gu Tai became the Sect Leader, he made Zhang Bie Zun the Great Elder. There was an important matter in the Pill Sect that he needed to discuss with Zhang Bie Gu.
