C1 1

The night was as dark as ink, impenetrably deep. "Hubby, I'm moving out tomorrow, okay?" Ruan Su wrapped her arms around the man's powerful waist from behind, nestling her beautiful face against his broad back. "There's no need. I intend to give you River Pine Villa," Bo Xingzhi said, his expression cool and his tone so even it was impossible to discern his emotions. Ruan Su curved her lips into a smile, her voice sweet and compliant. "Hubby, we agreed I'd leave without taking anything. After four years of marriage, we're parting ways as strangers. Isn't that for the best?" Bo Xingzhi, unable to see Ruan Su's face, could still detect the utter lack of sorrow in her voice. Was she really that eager to get a divorce? For some reason, he felt an inexplicable twinge of discomfort. "Don't you care about money?" "A true gentleman loves money but always in an honorable way. Divorce money is tainted; it's better left untouched." Ruan Su released her embrace from around his back. "I'm going to take a shower." But as she turned to leave, her arm was abruptly seized. In a swift motion, the man clasped her delicate, pale wrist. His deep, piercing gaze fixed on her lovely face. Bo Xingzhi's lips parted slightly as she laughed and raised her hand to block him, her sparkling eyes meeting his. "We're getting a divorce, remember?" "Until the divorce certificate is in hand, you are still my wife," Bo Xingzhi stated, his handsome brows knitting together as he tightened his grip on her wrist. He had always cherished Ruan Su's docility and tenderness. Her body was particularly alluring to him, her excellent figure, her exquisite face, a true vision of loveliness. And those long, straight legs, her tall and elegant stature, complemented by those soulful almond eyes. "Hubby, all I want now is to take a bath and go to bed," Ruan Su said with a coy laugh, her gaze flirtatious and soft. Her slender fingers wriggled in his firm grasp. "Is that okay?" "No, it's not. We're on the verge of divorce. We should treasure every moment we have left together." The night was woven with dreams. Bo Xingzhi knew Ruan Su inside and out after four years of marriage. He was intimately familiar with every one of her expressions and gestures, his eyes now fixed on her with a hint of greed.

Ruan Su lifted her gaze to meet that of the man before her. The heir to Bo's Group and the lead captain of South Star Airline, Bo Xingzhi was a magnet for rich young ladies and had flight attendants swooning over him. He was nothing short of a heartthrob, but she was never one of them. She had always been clear about the role she was supposed to play in this marriage, and now those four years were drawing to a close. The following morning, Ruan Su awoke to find Bo Xingzhi already up and getting ready in the bathroom. "Good morning," she said, sitting up slowly, her pretty face still showing traces of sleepiness and a relaxed demeanor. Bo Xingzhi was dressed in a black shirt paired with black trousers. Ruan Su got out of bed and picked out a black dress to put on. Today was Old Master Bo's funeral, and as the granddaughter-in-law in name, her presence was expected. Bo Xingzhi glanced at her. "Since we're getting divorced and this charade is over, you don't have to go if you don't want to." Ruan Su paused mid-dress. "Grandfather was very kind to me. I want to see him one last time to pay my respects." "Fine, I'll have Soong Yan take you," Bo Xingzhi responded indifferently. With a composed, easy smile, Ruan Su replied, "Sure." Was this his way of keeping her out of the spotlight? Throughout their four-year marriage, the world only knew of Bo Xingzhi's hidden young and beautiful wife, yet no one had ever laid eyes on her.
