Half-asleep, Ruan Su felt an uncomfortable heat suffusing her body with every breath she took. Restlessly, she turned over and gradually opened her eyes, only to meet Bo Xingzhi's deep, dark gaze fixed on her. She pushed herself up with her arms, lightly touching her forehead. "What time is it?" "4:00 a.m.," he replied. "Why aren't you asleep?" she asked, eyeing Bo Xingzhi with suspicion. "Now that you're awake, you should take your medicine." He rose from the bed, fetched her a glass of water, and handed her a packet of pills. "Medicine?" Ruan Su looked at the pills in her hand, bewildered. She had never taken medicine when sick before. Bo Xingzhi's brow furrowed. "Didn't you notice you have a fever? I shouldn't have taken you out. It's my fault you're ill." "That explains why I feel so awful." Despite her aversion to medication, Ruan Su, under Bo Xingzhi's watchful eye, swallowed the pills. After taking the medicine, she snuggled against Bo Xingzhi's chest, her voice frail. "Thank you, hubby." She presumed Bo Xingzhi must have called the doctor after noticing she was ill. Four years into their marriage, she recognized that he was a good man, fulfilling all his duties as a husband, except for the absence of love between them. Sensing the playful tone in her voice, Bo Xingzhi's hand encircled her slender waist. "Are you teasing me?" With a flirtatious smile, Ruan Su replied, "I had a good rest and now I'm full of energy. I've recovered quite well." "You're not behaving, even when you're sick," he chided, patting her head. "Are you sure?" Ruan Su's eyes held a seductive glint as she surveyed the room, which was clearly designed for a couple, adorned with sweet decorations. "It would be such a waste otherwise."
"It's raining outside," the man said with an authoritative tone. Ruan Su remained silent. As a dutiful wife, she was expected to follow her husband's plans. Opening the box, she discovered the latest season's coat from Chanel, paired with a pair of long pants. After freshening up, she changed into the new clothes. Standing by the window, she gazed at the light rain and sighed, "It's a shame we can't go out and have fun." "Your fever has just gone down. You can visit the nearby mall, but let's skip any other outdoor activities," Bo Xingzhi said indifferently, his attention on his phone. Ruan Su opened the window, catching a few raindrops in her hand. They felt cool and invigorating. "Honey, look, it seems even the sky knows we're getting divorced. Our one and only trip together can't be perfect." Some things are inevitably tinged with regret. For the first time, Bo Xingzhi spoke to Ruan Su with a hint of annoyance, "Can you stop bringing up the divorce all the time?" Closing the window, Ruan Su stared at him, taken aback. "You're the one who suggested we get divorced." "I'll sign the papers when we return," Bo Xingzhi declared before heading into the bathroom. Ruan Su rolled her eyes behind his back. What was he implying? Was he having second thoughts about the divorce? Bo Xingzhi lit a cigarette and inhaled deeply. Exhaling a stream of smoke, he felt his frustration begin to ebb away.
