"That's wonderful." Ruan Su accepted the divorce agreement, her smile filled with relief. "Special Assistant Soong, please tell Bo Xingzhi to meet me at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon to pick up the divorce certificate. I'll be waiting for him." With that, she picked up her already packed suitcase and left the villa. Soong Yan had no choice but to call Bo Xingzhi and relay the message. "She's that eager to get divorced?" Bo Xingzhi felt a tightness in his chest, as if he could barely breathe. He had married her because his grandfather had pressed him, but now that his grandfather had passed away, there was no reason to stay married. If she wanted a divorce, then so be it. Why drag it out? Without waiting for Soong Yan to respond, Bo Xingzhi said, "Don't wait until 3:00 p.m. Tell her she can do it now." As Ruan Su reached the gate of the villa community, she heard Soong Yan hurrying after her, panting as he caught up. "Miss Ruan." "What is it?" Surely Bo Xingzhi hadn't changed his mind about the divorce. "Our young master says you can get the divorce certificate right now. He's asked me to escort you to the Civil Affairs Bureau." "That's excellent news. Thank you, Special Assistant Soong." The Civil Affairs Bureau was nearly deserted at midday, the certificate-processing hall eerily quiet. Within minutes, Ruan Su and Bo Xingzhi emerged with their divorce certificate in hand. Ruan Su couldn't help noticing how exceptionally blue the sky looked, the air fresher than ever. At last, she was divorced, and a four-year marriage had come to an end. "Where are you going? I can give you a ride," Bo Xingzhi offered, his voice cool and detached. Ruan Su gave him a small smile. "No, thank you." She gestured across the street, and a commanding Land Rover parked at the curb pulled up toward them. The door opened to reveal a face Bo Xingzhi recognized all too well. "Director Jiang?" Bo Xingzhi's expression turned icy. He couldn't fathom why Ruan Su would know Jiang Xinyu. The thought of the rumored, single president of Hundred-year-old Medicine left him distinctly displeased.

"Director Bo, it's been a while. I appreciate all the care you've given to Ruan Su over these years." Jiang Xinyu flashed a handsome smile as he hoisted Ruan Su's luggage into the car. Bo Xingzhi watched with a furrowed brow as Ruan Su settled into the passenger seat. So that was why she had been so eager to divorce. She had already lined up someone new. Was Jiang Xinyu as good-looking as he was? As wealthy? This woman. Damn it, why was he even comparing himself to Jiang Xinyu? There was no comparison. For some reason, an inexplicable discomfort twisted in his chest. "Director Bo, goodbye." Ruan Su waved at him, her smile more radiant than ever. She would no longer call him her husband. In their four-year marriage, she had always been gentle and sweet, but she had never smiled so brightly. Bo Xingzhi froze, his heart hollow, as if something had suddenly been torn from his life. The Land Rover slowly pulled away. Soong Yan approached cautiously. "Young Master, shall we go?" Bo Xingzhi’s handsome face was cold as he got into the car without a word and slammed the door shut. Instead of heading straight back to Jing Bay Villa, Ruan Su went to Nanshan Cemetery. She knelt before Mr. Bo’s grave, her fingertips lightly caressing the photo. The elderly man in the picture looked kind and gentle, as if he had never truly left. "Grandfather, I’m sorry. Bo Xingzhi and I are divorced. I hope you know and won’t blame me." "I’ll come see you again when I have time." After she spoke, she turned to leave, only to see a man standing not far away. Dressed in black, tall and long-legged, he stared at her intently.
