C29 Dinna's Attack

I woke up early the next day and looked at Dolo. He was still sleeping. I sat up the bed and looked around.

I stood up and went to the living room. It was still dark so I lit up a lamp to say my prayers.

When I was done with my prayers, I opened the house door and looked out then returned back into the house. I went to the lamp I lit up and knelt down. I thanked the god for saving my daughter yesterday as she dealt with the snake.

I looked upward to my right and then stood up.

I switched off the lamp and then went into my room to pack the clothes in the laundry basket.

"Good morning love." I heard Dolo say.

I turned to look at Dolo.

He stood up and gave me a peck on my forehead.

"Good morning. How was your night?" I asked him.

"It was nice." Dolo said and went towards the window to open it.

"You are going to do the laundry." He said looking at me and I nodded my head.

"Okay." He said and gave me another peck on my forehead.

I smiled then walked out of the room with the laundry basket.

I washed the laundries and sew the necessary places that needed sowing.

Minutes later, I was done washing the clothes and I went out to spread the clothes so they could dry.

I walked into the house with the laundry basket and went into my room.

Dolo stood up from the bed and looked at me.

"You look tired." He said.

I dropped the laundry basket where I normally keep it and went to the bed. I laid down on the bed and Dolo came to sit on the bed. He also laid on the bed then touched my hair.

"We would be going for our picnic tomorrow." He said and I nodded my head.

"Okay." I said then sat up.

"You don't have to go anywhere now." Dolo said and I looked at him.

"I have prepared everything and make the necessary arrangements for our picnic." I said.

"Yes I know." Dolo said as he stood up.

"I'm troubled." I said.

"About what?" Dolo asked.

"About Chira." I said. "The enemy may want to strike tomorrow."

"Nothing would happen. We would be alert and nothing bad would happen." Dolo said.

"If you say so." I said and Dolo nodded his head.

"I pray my Chira would be ready to face any challenge she may have." Dolo said.

"I pray so too." Dolo said and I nodded my head.

"Let me allow you rest." Dolo said and I nodded my head.

I turned to the other side as Dolo went out of the room.

I was really disturbed as I thought of Chira. I closed my eyes and decided to wave off the worry. I looked up to the wall clock to see the time.

All of a sudden I started to cough. I stood up and went to the jar of water in the room and shooked it but it was empty. I looked up as I coughed more. I ran out of my room to the living room.

My husband looked at me and stood up from the chair he was sitting on.

I ran into the kitchen to get some water to drink after picking a cup.

I drank the water that I had poured into the cup but I didn't feel comfortable then I fell on the ground and slumped.

Dolo POV

I followed her to the kitchen and saw her drink two cups of water. After drinking the water, she looked around and I could sense that she didn't feel comfortable. She later fell to the ground.

I ran towards her and Chira came running into the kitchen.

I poured some water on her face but she didn't wake up.

I stood up after some seconds and lifted her up to my hands as I thought, Do the enemy want to destroy Chira's Destiny by killing my wife, No Dinna cannot die, we promised to take care of Chira.

I carried Dinna out of the kitchen.

Chira came to me and held my hand.

"Papa, take her to your room." Chira said.

"Why?" I asked her.

"Just do it." Chira said.

I carried Dinna into my room and Chira followed me.

I put Dinna on the bed and Chira went out of my room. I looked at Dinna and I rubbed her hands.

Minutes later, Chira came into the room with an ointment.

"Papa, I want you to move back." Chira said and I moved back.

Chira pulled a stool close to Dinna and sat on it. She poured a little portion of the ointment in her hand then rubbed her hands together.

She then rubbed the ointment on Dinna's face. She then rubbed the ointment on Dinna's hands then pecked her on the forehead.

I stood looking at all what Chira was doing.

Chira poured ointment on Dinna's feet then massaged her feet.

"Chira what are you doing?" I asked Chira.

Chira looked at me then put one of her finger on her lip meaning that I shouldn't talk.

I stood where I was and kept looking at Dinna's body as it laid on the bed.

Few minutes later, Dinna's body moved indicating that she is awake. She later sneezed and Chira left massaging her feet and she looked at Dinna.

"Mama." Chira called out and Dinna sat up.

Dinna embraced Chira.

"Chira, my Chira." Dinna called out as she held Chira to herself.

I walked close to them and Dinna looked at me and left embracing Chira. She looked at me with tears and I went to hug her.

Dinna opened her mouth to speak.

"I went to the land of the spirits and I met some spirits discussing on how they want me to die so that they can steal a part of Chira's Destiny then allow you die and then leave Chira to be an orphan." Dinna said.
