C7 Preparing to play

The next morning, I woke up feeling pains on my back. I looked at my wife who was still sleeping. I stood up and went to the kitchen where I stretched my back.

The pain subsided after some minutes. I picked up a flakes with I dipped in some oat then drank it.

After drinking it, I opened the fridge thinking of what to prepare for meal. I brought out the sack of rice which we usually keep in the kitchen cupboard.

I started preparing the rice which was boiling fast. I brought out some Vegetables which I started cutting into smaller pieces. After cutting the vegetables into smaller pieces, I put it in a pot and added some peppers to it then I put it on the stove to cook.

After some minutes, the rice and vegetables had been cooked. I added some assortment into the vegetables then dished out some for myself.

Minutes later after eating, I went back to my room where I picked up my bag then left the house for the industry.

Dinna POV

I woke up and place my hand on the area where Dolo always sleep and didn't see him. I looked to my other side to check on Chira. Chira was still asleep. I stood up from the bed yawning as I left for the kitchen with the thought that I would see Dolo in the kitchen.

Getting to the kitchen, I looked around and couldn't find Dolo. I could perceive the smell of Vegetable so I walked up to the pot where the smell was coming from and I opened the pot and saw vegetable soup with some assortment. I inhaled the aroma coming from the soup.

I put the pot cover back on the pot then walked over to the next pot. I took off the cover from the pot then looked into the pot. I saw rice in the pot.

I smiled at the realization that my husband had prepared our morning meal.

"Mama." I heard Chira voice call me from behind.

I quickly covered the pot then turned to look at Chira.

"Oh my Chira." I said spreading my hands out wide to her and she ran into my hands and hugged me.

"Mama, where's Papa?" Chira asked me.

"He's gone to work." I said and Chira smiled.

"Okay." Chira said then looked into my eyes. "Mama, I am hungry."

Chira held her stomach as I opened the pot of rice and dished out some rice for her. I then moved to the pot of vegetables and added vegetables to the rice. I tasted the vegetables and it had pepper so I opened the fridge and brought out some sauce which I grinding and added it to the rice so that it won't be peppery for Chira to eat.

Chira clapped her hands as I took the food to the living room and placed it on the floor. She sat on the floor and started eating her food as she ate with excitement.

I went back to the kitchen to get a cup of water which I placed on the floor beside her after filling the cup. I watched her as she kept eating the food without uttering a word. I guess she was so hungry.

After some minutes Chira finished eating the food and drank the water then stood up and went out to urinate. She walked back into the house and saw me packing up for her. She walked close to me and shooked her head.

"No Mama don't do it." She said as she approached me and took the plate from my hand.

She walked to the kitchen and placed the plate where we normally pick plates to wash.

I looked at her and smiled.

I clapped for her after she had put it in the appropriate place and she looked at me and smiled. She made her war noise again and I walked over to her and hugged her.

"Mama, Can we play?" She asked me and I nodded my head then she smiled and drew me to follow her.

"No baby." I said and Chira looked at me. "Aren't you going to bath?"

Chira clapped her hands together as she smiled.

"Okay Mama that's nice. Let's go." Chira said pulling my hands as we moved to where we normally have our bath.

After we had our bath and dressed, we both went out. I carried Chira in a manner that made her giggle.

I placed her on the floor then looked at her.

She also looked at me.

"Mama is hungry." I said.

Chira looked at me and smiled.

"Ok Mama. Let's go inside then you will eat and then rest before we play." Chira said in her baby voice and that made me laugh.

I walked back with Chira to the house then went into the kitchen and dished out some rice for myself and then I added some Vegetables to it and went to the living room and ate it to my satisfaction.

I stood up from the chair after eating and drinking some water. I carried the plate which I used in eating and was going back to the kitchen. Chira ran to collect the plate from me.

"No Mama." Chira said collecting the plate from me. "You should rest."

I looked at Chira and smiled as she walked into the kitchen.

I took my sit and shut my eyes close inhaling the cool breath.

I opened my eyes after some minutes and saw Chira looking at me. I smiled at her and she also did likewise to me.

I rested a bit then stood up after some minutes.

"Just wait for me here." I said to Chira who nodded her head.

I went into the kitchen. I rinsed my face with water then went into the room to wipe off the water off my face before going to the living room to meet Chira who giggled when she saw me.

"Here we go." I said to Chira who was happy and she stood up.

Together we went outside.
