C5 Mate?

Almost all young unmated girls in this pack have a crush on our future Alpha, like I said almost all except me who is obviously the only sane person in this pack. Contrary to everyone else I despise him with a passion which is saying a lot since I try not to bother with any of them.

His father is a great man and a wonderful Alpha while his mother is probably the sweetest soul I’ve ever met, they’re practically like the best example of what and Alpha and Luna should be like yet the managed to birth and raise a monster. At least that's the picture everyone out there sees and also what I saw as a child back then but now, I know better. That family is the absolute worst pack leadership I've ever met.

Jack Grayson popularly known as Gray is your typical school heartthrob, he changes girlfriends faster than he does his underwear(I know because I do the alpha family’s laundry), for me personally he’s nothing but a bully, playboy and a total p**k who acts like he owns the world.

Our classes are mostly the same due to our future career paths but our only real contact between us is when he shoves me in the hallway while constantly reminding me I’m a charity case. In this entire pack, he’s the one person I wholeheartedly despise; my disgust for him is immeasurable.

I drag my tired body to the pack house while mentally preparing for whatever disgusting sight I may encounter there. As I draw closer I feel Emerald stir and immediately starts howling in my head causing a headache.

‘Ow! Emerald what is your problem girl?’ I ask irritably, something I hardly do but have been doing a lot today.

‘I don’t know Clary I feel like something big is about to happen, I’m afraid we have a sketchy day ahead of us.’ came her response filled with unease.

‘What are you talking about Em? We always have sketchy days in this pack’. I snap back at her and that surprises me since I never snap at her.

‘Sigh, I feel like something is about to happen, something that may change our life for the better or the worst.’ her reply this time got me thinking since I also feel strange since morning adding to my unstable emotions.

‘It’s okay Emerald, just stop pacing and howling. Whatever happens we’ll deal with it, we have each other remember?’ I tell her soothingly trying to reassure her.

‘I know girl, sorry about the headache though. But hey I’ve been thinking, what if we find our mate in this pack? I’m sure our mate is a high-ranking wolf since we’re Alpha you know’. She suddenly changes the conversation and asks in a teasing tone.

‘Isn’t it obvious? Ill reject them personally before they get the chance to do it in a more humiliating way since all the boys within our age range in this pack are either too dumb and arrogant or just downright man whores.’ I reply her in a cold tone without an ounce of hesitation.

‘I totally support that decision otherwise I may want blood, having tolerated them this long is a miracle in itself not to even consider mating them.’ she states with utter disdain laced in her voice as we arrive at the large double door entrance to the pack house while bracing ourselves for the shitty day ahead.

The moment I step into the pack house doors, I catch a very delicious scent that makes my entire being feel drunk with it for a moment, it smelt like freshly made coffee and mint . My wolf stiffens in my head as our last conversation this morning flash into my mind and my wolf whispers the words ‘Mate.’
