C8 Fate

Clarissa’s POV

One year later.

As I drive down the road with my best friend Cynthia whom I met a few weeks after settling here and started scouting the area for any job or business opportunity and we cliqued so much we became inseparable. I sigh at the games of fate. It’s been a year since I was rejected and left New Crescent moon pack.

I had applied to complete my studies earlier through the school portal and the school board approved on the condition that I ace all subjects in one trial, if I couldn’t I had to attend physical classes and finish with my class mates and of course I aced them all.

I got admission into an online university recommended by my bestie and I’m currently studying Law and Business administration while Cynthia chose Psychology. We also met another friend Michael a rogue werewolf Beta during our orientation and we became connected immediately.

I had managed to escape that day, successfully evading the trackers my dear ex-mate must have sent after me. I spent a whole week in the woods, during the day I stayed in human form covering up my scent while at night in wolf form to avoid the cold and stay on guard. Finally I was able to make it to the human town on my seventh night.

I had managed to clean freshen up at the public restroom and stole a hoodie from one of the clothing stores to hide my hair and joined the busy crowd to enter the bank, once it I managed to access the safe and emptied everything into my now empty duffel, except the cash.

It contained my original ID, passport, property transfer documents, my mom’s jewelry collection, our pack signet and stamp, two letters from both my parents with their respective crests stamped at the back of the envelopes and a business card belonging to the now former alpha of the royal pack.

The bank staff helped me open an account and deposit 1.8 million in it while the rest I kept in cash and had used it to eat, get a phone and book a cab to the Royal moon pack using the map to determine my location and the right path to follow, surprisingly it was a half hour journey by car and two hours by foot.

I had already made it to the border when I felt a chill on my back, I smelt something rotten and the aura felt like death and instantly I realized who they were by the smell and feeling, I could never forget it. Right away I knew they were the old mutt’s wolves that had been stationed to keep an eye on the royal pack.

I had changed my destination instantly while using my phone to send an anonymous email to notify them of the rogues on their borders and headed to the town on the other side of their border which has a vast unclaimed territory while praying my mail has given them a timely heads-up.

The city was huge and had many rogue wolves, they were the kind of rogues that prefer the free life to pack life, those who had been banished from their packs, those mated to humans and those who were either looking for their mates or had been rejected.

It was a safe haven for someone like me and I settled in nicely after I bought a small apartment close to the woods that separated the unclaimed territory from the royal moon pack territory the previous owners, an old couple who were moving away gave it to me at a cheap price.

I also rented a shop and opened a small café that sold the kind of coffee I had learnt to make for the alphas during their meetings to the pack. Coffee mixed with whisky and a small amount of wolves’ bane made it hard for them to shift for a few hours as their wolves took a much needed nap.

They totally loved it and that encouraged me into renting the next building which I turned into a bar once I realized how much rogues enjoy partying and getting drunk. I was looking for a bartender who knew how to mix drinks expertly when Cynthia strutted in one fine evening looking for a job, she’d mixed I shot for me and I hired her in a heartbeat.

Both of my businesses were managed personally by me until Michael moved into town and began assisting me. I’ve made many friends in the past year but Cynthia and Michael remained the closest, I'd told them I left after being rejected, Cynthia is a huntress who left to look for her mate while Michael became rogue after losing his mate.

I continued training with assistance from Cynthia and Michael till I could beat their a** after three month training together, I also started training with the other rogues and vampires who lived I town after they realized I loved fighting and they were surprisingly nice to me, something Cynthia claims it's the aura around that draws people to me, enough to make the wish to do absolutely anything to make me happy. I just called her a weirdo.
