C2 The news

Felix's P.O.V

,,Honey, I have to tell you something!" Her smile was so bright it lit up the room and her joy was so evident I could spot it even from a mile away.

, Go ahead my love!" I ushered her to continue, my anticipation killing me.

,,I know we've been waiting for this for a while now and I really hope you are as excited as I am." She took a deep breath before continuing.

,,I'm pregnant!" She beamed with joy, excitement, and nerves as the words left her mouth. I looked at her with eyes so wide you would think they were about to fall off. We had been trying ever since I sat on the throne and I was finally getting an heir.

,,Felix?" Veronica said confused, snapping me out of my thoughts. I stood up and went to her placing the biggest kiss on her lips, then I picked her up bridal style and spun her around as I listened to her sweet giggles. I set her down and gave her a warm embrace, whispering a ,,thank you" in her ear. I was so thankful that I would finally get the opportunity to be a father.

,,Thank you, love!" I repeated, still trying to wrap my head around the news. ,,Thank you for carrying my heir, for being the best wife and queen!'' If possible, her smile grew even wider.

,,I love you, Felix!" She kissed my lips and it felt like the world around us was gone. It simply vanished and all that mattered were my lips against hers and our hearts beating in perfect sync. Our hearts, that beat for each other. It was only me and her in the sweetest, most loving, passionate kiss that spoke more than a thousand words.

,, Let's let the rest of the world know about our happiness!" I smiled looking into her beautiful eyes, not being able to keep a secret.

Secrets were never my strong point, I couldn't keep them for the life of me, especially if it was something huge and exciting. And this here was the biggest secret, for now. Now that I knew, I didn't plan on keeping it a secret at all.

,,Nathaniel" I called out.

He was in the room within seconds, bowing down to me and Veronica.

,,Yes king?"

,,Tell my mother to come here immediately!'' I ordered, still smiling from ear to ear and looking at my wife.

,,We have something to announce!"

Turning my attention back to him, I couldn't help but notice the curious looks he sends me and Veronica. He was obviously confused and I didn't blame him as we probably looked like high schoolers who just agreed to go to prom together.

,,Yes king!" He finally said, bowed, and quickly left the room to fulfill my command.

,,I can't believe it!'' I walked over to the huge window that stared directly at the sea, my favorite view. I felt Veronica's hands wrap around me, pulling me close. In a swift motion, I grab one of her hands and spin her around so she is facing me and smash my lips onto hers once more.

,,Neither can I.'' My wife answers once we pull away.

,,When did you find out?'' I think to ask her as curiosity eats away at me.

,,Last week, but I was afraid something would happen and wanted to keep it to myself for a bit. ,,You're not mad, right?'' She stares at me with her beautiful green eyes, anticipating an answer, but words didn't seem to flow as I got lost in her eyes yet again.

,,Felix?" She waved a hand in front of my face.

,,No, no I'm not mad!'' I answered, not looking away from the captivating green eyes in front of me.

A sudden knock on the door snaps me out of my daze. I almost wonder who the knock comes from before it hits me that I invited my mother so we can share the news. I mentally slaped myself before fixing my posture.

,,Enter!" I finally say. My mum, queen Natalia, walked into the room with a big smile and a gorgeous green dress that flowed around her. My mother had always been a fan of big, puffy, fancy dresses, while Veronica preferred more subtle clothing and only dressed fancy when needed. Not that it mattered when someone was as beautiful as she was, she could be wearing a garbage bag and she would still outshine everyone else.

,,Hello Felix, Veronica!"My mother greeted us. I sent her a small smile as Veronica bowed next to me.

,,Hy mom! Veronica and I have some news for you. Love?'' I gestured for her to continue.

,,Queen Natalia, it's my honor to announce to you that I'm pregnant with your first grandchild." She looked over at me and I smiled reassuringly.

I could tell Veronica was nervous about telling my mother. Their relationship was pretty good, but I could see how my mother could be intimidating. Veronica had nothing to worry about as long as I was next to her though.

,,Congratulations son! I'm sure you will be a wonderful father! May your child grow happy, healthy, and strong! Veronica, congratulations to you as well darling! I hope you have a healthy and easy pregnancy! You can always come to me for advice since your mother isn't here."

,,Thank you, Queen Natalia!" She replied.

,,Thank you, mum!"

,,I'll let you guys celebrate, I'm sure you aren't over the excitement yet!" With that, she left the room. I called Nathaniel in and ordered him to cancel this year's travel, as there was absolutely no way I would miss even a single moment of this new journey, and to prepare for the announcement to the people of Litopia. The people deserved to know of the new heir just as much as our families do, after all our people are also part of the family.

Not a very eventful chapter but it sure is a very important one. Everything is only going downhill from here hehe 😉
