Natalia's P.O.V

,,That little snake!" I yelled in frustration, throwing a crystal glass across the room. The liquid, which was in the glass spilled all over, the broken pieces of glass covering the floor.

,,Queen, don't let your anger blind you. King Felix might hear you and that will be our end."

Easy for you to say, I wanted to scream, but sadly he was right. The last thing I needed was for that snake to ruin my relationship with my son.

,,How could I not! That worth for nothing girl finally got what she wanted! She is now stronger than ever!" I rubbed my temples to ease the headache that was starting to appear and took a deep breath. Asher was right. I had been a queen for long enough to know that controlling your emotions was one of the most important characteristics a ruler could have. I couldn't let a little snake, or anyone for that matter, think they could ruin the relationship between me and my son or take my power away.

Asher was my personal guard and my most loyal servant ever since my husband, the late king, sat on the throne. He was my eyes and ears and I-his protection. We were the perfect team and what was even more perfect was that no one suspected a thing even after all those years.

,,What are we going to do now?" He asked. His voice felt like nails on a chalkboard at the moment. As much as I knew he was right and that his concerns were valid, I didn't have answers or a plan and my mind wasn't thinking straight. For the very first time since I became queen, I had no idea what to do, but obviously, it won't last long. After all, I was queen Natalia and I never fell on my back, nor will I ever.

,,Call her here! I will personally hold her accountable for her actions!" I ordered and sat down to calm my head. A few breaths were all it took for the rage to subside. Instead of rage, I was now focused on revenge. The thing I did best. No one wanted to endure my acts of revenge, because they were always served cold when you least expected it.

A few minutes later Veronica entered my room. She tried looking confident, but I could see straight through her walls. Her body language gave her away. Her palms were sweaty and her hands were trembling. As much as she tried to hide it she couldn't. She had always been weak, not having even one of the characteristics that a ruler should have, let alone a ruler as strong as my son. I honestly never knew what he saw in her. In my eyes, she was only another useless throat that must be fed.

I clapped mockingly at her and pointed to her stomach:

,,Nice work dear! Finally, got to achieve your goal huh? Didn't I warn you? Didn't I give you pills?" She looked up at me but held her mouth shut. I would slap her so hard if I could.

,,Queen Natalia, I-"

,,I don't need excuses, Veronica!" I spat at her. You are nothing, but a fling of my son! One word on my end and you're gone!"

,,I've been his wife for years! I'm nobody's fling nor will I ever be. I'm the mother of the next heir to the throne, I'm going nowhere!" She declared, but the words were pathetically getting stuck in her throat.

,,Pathetic!" I laughed. ,,Can't even hold a speech yet she thinks she has what it takes to be a queen! Pathetic, that's what you are!" I finally said, once my laugh died down. This woman could be nothing, but a laughing stock.

,,Sure, you got pregnant, but don't get too comfortable here. We all know what happened to the last woman who thought she was something! I glared at her. Her dumb face alone was enough to make my blood boil. She had some nerve talking back to me.

,,You may have won the fight, but not the war, Veronica!" I placed my hands on my lap, my dress flowing on the floor beside me.

,,I'm not trying to win a war! I'm not playing your games! I love Felix and this baby, growing inside of me. I want us to be a happy family that's all!" She was starting to tear up. Like I had always said, weak and pathetic. Suited her well enough.

Who did she think she was fooling with those lies?

,,Don't play innocent with me! I know what you want! You want to ruin my relationship with my son and take my power but I won't let you!"

,,Why would why want that? I saw first hand how hard it was for him to lose his father, do you think I would want him to go through the same thing again?"

,,You saw nothing!" I screamed at her as I slowly walked closer.

She took a few steps back, cowering in fear like a mouse in front of a cat. She couldn't even protect herself let alone a kingdom.

,,Watch your back Veronica, war is only begging!" I stated and looked at Asher. He nodded and quickly opened the door, the snake running away as fast as she could without drawing attention to herself.
