C14 Busy day

“Ding ding ding....”, the alarm rang. “Oh great, you just had to disturb my sleep”. Alexis said while she tapped it off. She took a quick shower and settled on a tank top with a hoodie and faded blue jeans. As she opened the car door, she had a call. “Guess you already on your way here”,Nora said at the other side of the line.“I will be there in a jiffy”. Alexis replied and hanged up.

“Why is the traffic so long this morning, I should have eaten”, she groaned. She spotted a cafeteria by the way. She parked and walked inside. “I might as well eat while I'm already late”. “Hey what can I get u”,the waitress chimed in. “An expresso coffee with cupcakes will do”. The waitress smiled and left.

Few minutes later, the waitress brought the food. “Omg, this tastes so delicious”, Alexis moaned while she took a bite of the cupcake. She paid the waitress and added a tip for the delicious meal. “Here goes nothing” she said as she started her car to the film site.

“Alright just change your posture a little bit and show a little bit of confidence. 1,2,3 ready action”, the director said. Kelsey nodded. After filming a few scenes, the director noticed Kelsey looked so tired and worn out “Ok cut, that's all for today", director Ben smiled. “Can you meet me in my office for a while Kelsey”,Ben requested. Kelsey nodded. “Wait for me Nora, I will be back in a jiffy but pass me my flats. This heels are hurting my feet”. Nora giggled.

“I called you here because I want to talk to you as a friend. Kelsey you seem to be losing a lot of weight,are you sure you're ok”. Ben asked. “I'm fine, I'm just on diet”. Kelsey lied through gritted teeth. She knew Ben wanted what's best for her but she just couldn't tell him she was suffering from severe ulcer. “Are you sure”. Ben asked again. “I'm fine Ben,no need to worry”. Ben smiled and tapped her shoulder. “If you say so, I gotta go. Later ok”,Ben said.

“I'm sorry I'm late, I was caught up in traffic”. Alexis said in a hurry. “It's alright, I kinda need to talk to you privately if you wouldn't mind”, Kelsey replied. Alexis nodded. “Can you excuse us Nora”. “Sure but call me when you need me” Nora replied. Kelsey smiled and nodded. “Ok fine I had to dismiss Nora cause I can't make her feel worried but I think I had a relapse this morning despite taking the drugs you recommended”. Kelsey said. “It can happen though but it only means one thing which is one, you must have been on diet despite my strict warning and two, you skipped your morning meal”. Alexis said in all seriousness.

“I can't be eating a lot just because I'm not well,it took me a long while to get this figure not withstanding the plastic surgeries I had to go through". Kelsey replied. “Then your condition can worsen and besides I'm not telling you to do something so extraordinarily, you just have to eat on time but not too much. I happen to come along with this drug. Take it but don't drink it in excess cause it can kill you if you try". Alexis retorted. “Yeah sure but remember this stays between us and if word is out, I'm gonna make you regret this". Kelsey snarled. “Chill girl, I have no interest in your matters. I gotta go though”. Alexis replied.

“Wait”, Kelsey called out. Alexis halted. “ I forgot to tell you that I've talked to Dr Shan and you wouldn't have to work for me any longer, you can resume your own work. Will call you if I need you”. Kelsey said. “Ok bye farewell then". Alexis hurried out. Kelsey giggled. “Well well well,I just got you out of the way”. She whispered to herself.

“Hello Alexis, I guess by now Kelsey has talked to you. You can resume work tomorrow”. Dr Shan said at the other side of the phone .“Thanks a lot”. Alexis replied and hanged up. “Girl are you busy"Alexis said. “Hey Alexis, you finally have time for me but sorry I'm busy at the moment, why what's the problem”. Kayley said at the other side of the line. “Its nothing much, just thought we should hang out, it's been a while we did”. Alexis replied. “Ok it's fine then later then". “Sure Kayley”. Alexis sped off home.

“Its been a while I had to time to investigate further into my parents death”. Alexis thought as she sat down in the sofa. I think I need to call Dave and see the way forward.

“Alexis, you finally called me”. Dave said in an amused tone. “Yeah I did, actually I wanted to know whether that lawyer decided to help me on my case”, Alexis replied. “Well you are one lucky girl for him to agree to help you, can you meet him tomorrow at the firm”,Dave asked. “I don't really have a busy schedule tomorrow so

I can make it”. Alexis replied. “Well it's settled then”Dave said.

“What a busy day it is”, she said. “Wait, where's my watch, I pretty sure remember I wore it today or was it yesterday. Damn did I leave it at the party yesterday or it fell on the way”. Alexis sighed. “Oh daddy I'm sorry to loose the precious gift you gave me on my 16th birthday”. Alexis said to herself.

“Ring ring ring”, Steve's phone rang. “Hello Dave”. Steve said. “Can you make time for the client tomorrow, I've already promised her so don't let me down”. Dave said in a hurry. “Alright but you owe me on this one”. Steve scoffed. After he ended the call, he picked the watch Alexis left in the car. He smiled to himself.

Its been a while since he got interested in a girl despite her father's best friends daughter who happened to be little at that time. “There's no harm in trying again,maybe she's settled down and it's been long since I saw her, I have to move on”. Steve thought and smiled. He quickly shoved the watch in his pocket when his assistant walked in.
