C1 The Wreck of Orphan

After leaving the orphanage, Lin felt a little tired, but he still went to the office to take care of some paperwork. He let out a long breath and leaned against the luxurious leather chair, staring blankly at the white wall on the other side of the desk like a pile of mud.

He was an orphan, and was now one of the most successful entrepreneurs in T City. No one knew how many hardships he had experienced in the past thirty years of his life, and only knew that this young, rich businessman was a weirdo who had never had a wife but was keen on doing odd jobs in the orphanages he built. Only those close to him knew that he really liked the children in the orphanages.

He has no children. He has many children.

There were many rumors and rumors about him in the outside world, and he did not pay any attention to them. Only when he was alone would he completely calm down and enjoy his weakness and loneliness.

He opened the drawer and took out a simple card. Looking at the young words on it, he smiled and slowly raised his left hand to support his cheek. Then, he fell asleep.

However, he did not wake up.

One day later, the news of an orphan entrepreneur who had passed away due to overwork filled the internet. No one would remember the news for too long, be it with admiration or with mockery.

Even if, in this world, there were only a few people like him who could have such pure thoughts.

— —

Link only felt that it was dark and he couldn't see anything clearly. He vaguely heard some faint sounds. He felt like he might have been sent to the hospital for rescue, but it was a bit long.

He began to feel that things might be worse, that he might die.

But he could not die, he had died, and those children would have to go through what he had experienced as a child.

He began to pray. He prayed to all the gods he could think of and made many vows he thought he would be devout to do so. After a long time, he finished everything and began to quietly wait.

After an unknown period of time.

Suddenly, dawn arrived.

— —

Cohen rolled on the ground, his stomach wrenching but unable to cry out.

He felt fear, helplessness, and deep sorrow. His eyes swept over the broth on the table as if it had been stung and then moved away like lightning. At fourteen he could not know why his cousin had poisoned him, but he was sure that the broth was the source of the problem. Even though he was born in a big family where his brothers were not very friendly, he had heard many stories about his brothers being rebellious. However, he had never thought that one day, he would also die at the hands of his own blood brothers.

He began to vomit blood. The blood rushed to his chest and drew a bright pattern on his snow-white robe.

The headache was so painful that Cohen almost wanted to kill himself. He began to resent the poison for torturing him. He was not happy at all.

He felt a bit regretful and absent-minded. If there was something he had to think about before he died, he hoped it would be something beautiful and not something like this.

He was often absent-minded. When he was eating or even cultivating, he would think of all sorts of strange things. Such abundant imagination made him feel happy. He lacked happiness. Today, his world had come to an end.

There was still no one outside. Where was Ellie? It was only then that he realized that he didn't know much about Ally who was following him around. He felt a little regretful, but it was already too late. His consciousness had started to fade away.

Then everything disappeared.

— —

Linke was also painfully struggling.

He felt a strong attraction where the light came from, and it made him feel powerless, and he didn't want to, but this damned attraction was like a saw pulling at Link's most sensitive nerves, and it was hateful.

After an unknown period of time, just when Rinkey was about to reach his endurance limit, everything quieted down and he felt his body once more. This made him extremely happy, as someone who had never died would never be able to understand the terror of death, and he felt that he had died once.

But he couldn't open his eyes.

His situation was so bizarre that he could not explain what had to be called the journey of death. It was as if he were in a movie theater, being forced to watch a fast-moving movie, with strange and fantastic scenes in front of his "eyes," as if he were the main character of the story, watching a fantasy movie through the eyes of "himself"!

"He" began to stagger, "he" was rocked by the warmth of a beautiful woman in the crook of her arm, "he" was the first to see a tall, heroic man, was asked to call him "father," was the first to see a fierce creature called "dragon" in a book under the guidance of a dignified but kindly middle-aged man, was the first to release an invisible force from the chant into the bedroom wall, forming a special mark, "he" and the cute little girl who was called "sister" played happily together …

All of this fascinated Rinkey. Even though he knew that this was perhaps an unusually real substitute for a fictional movie, that when he opened his eyes in the wake of the dream, what awaited him was still the cold world of reinforced concrete, he still couldn't help but love the feeling, the weird feeling, the joy of "he", the joy of "he", the happiness of "he", and what made him even more inescapable was the sense of belonging and security that those tall figures gave him, so much reality.

It was a wonderful thing that could not be described in any language. It was something that even the poorest of people could easily obtain, yet he did not have.

At the same time, in a place that Linke couldn't see or understand, his consciousness was wrapped in a floating soul cloud. A strange blank soul was merging into his soul cloud bit by bit.

Not knowing how much time had passed, until Linke became so confused that he felt like he might be the real Cohen, a little boy living in a fantasy world who might have the ability to call the wind, call the rain, move the mountains, and fill the seas, instead of the mortal Linke on Earth, he suddenly opened his eyes!

Everything before him caused him to be filled with intense fear and complicated surprise!

That was because he was sitting on the ground. When he looked down, he saw a pool of blood on his snow-white robe!

The story he saw was not a story!

However, those scenes did not resemble the events that he had truly experienced. Everything felt like a dream, but the unfamiliar yet familiar room, the unfamiliar yet familiar body, made people … At the same time, the place they should have been extremely familiar with, called Earth, gradually became more distant, like a real dream!

Ah!

While Lin Ke was still immersed in the myriad of thoughts and moods that came to mind, he heard the shrieks of two young girls.

Lin Ke quickly regained his senses. In an instant, he combined the memories he 'saw' with the scene in the room, he understood the current situation. Even in this mystical world, reviving from the dead was not an understandable result, not to mention whether he was the original 'Cohen' or not, he was not even sure!

His many years of business experience had allowed him to quickly calm down. No matter what happened, the first thing he had to do was to deal with the difficulties in front of him.

"Master Cohen, what happened to you?"

A little girl in servant clothes ran over to Linke and knelt on the ground, asking anxiously. Her little white hands helplessly waved in the air, tears were already flowing out of her eyes. The scene before her eyes was even more terrifying than the one in her dreams.

Link "remembered" that her name was Ellie, a 16-year-old little girl who had been bought by her family and raised to take care of her "own" life. These types of maids were very common in the Empire's larger families, often poor commoners who couldn't support too many children, or simply abandoned orphans. Ellie belonged to the latter.

Lin Ke saw the unconcealable fear and anxiety on her young face and his heart softened. "It's fine, Ali. I just met with a small problem in my cultivation. It's completely fine."

The other girl had already run away, probably to inform the rest of the family. Link didn't have enough time to clearly see her appearance, but he thought someone would arrive soon, he just needed a bit more time.

"Help me up," Link said, holding out his left hand to Ellie.

Ailee grabbed onto his arm in panic but felt his arms sink. Cohen staggered. Fortunately, he put his right hand on the table to prevent himself from falling down again. He knocked the bowl over and spilled the broth on the ground.

"Master Cohen!" Ellie exclaimed.

"It's fine. Just help me sit on the bed for a while. Grandpa should be arriving soon."

Rincewind had never known he could perform so naturally. He only felt a little awkward calling out the word "grandpa," but it was obvious that Ellie, still in a state of shock, hadn't noticed this.

Sure enough, the moment Lin Ke sat down, the dignified middle-aged man that he 'saw' from Cohen's memories appeared in front of him like a ghost. This unexplainable phenomenon still made Lin Ke uneasy, as to when the middle-aged man entered the room and how he approached the Lin Ke at the foot of the bed, he actually had no idea!

However, for no reason at all, the pure worry in the middle-aged man's eyes calmed him down. This feeling, this feeling, he had found again.

He stared at the middle-aged man in a daze. He had dark golden hair, a resolute face, deep blue eyes, and the appearance of a lion.

"How are you feeling? What happened? " The middle-aged man quickly grabbed onto one of Lin Ke's arms and asked.

Linke only felt a warm wave of energy circulating within his body. As it passed through his abdomen, he felt a slight pain and frowned.

The middle-aged man stared at Lin Ke's abdomen.

"It shouldn't be a big problem. Don't worry, it might be a stomach problem. If you invite a doctor over, it should be fine," Lin Ke stared at the middle-aged man with a caring gaze and said seriously, "Grandfather!"

(Confession: I just want to create a gorgeous world, and let the protagonist lead us there. Beautiful and elegant Elves, powerful and proud Gigantic Dragons, barbaric and poor Beastmen, cruel and warlike Murlocs, as well as, of course, the humans, mages, knights, and assassins that dominate the continent!) Follower, beauty, hero! Generals, nobles, royalty! Race war, country war, business war! When everything blended together, how could there be a lack of happiness? It was my original intention to write a reasonable piece of paper.)
