C4 Chapter 4

“Stop right there, y’all” the Dean stopped everyone who was moving and that included Roland and his minions who had not gone too far off from the side of the corridor where no one could see their evil deeds.

“We didn’t do anything Mr. Rod” Eleanor tried to explain as she knew detention was next to happen if she didn’t explain and although it would be futile she just had to try at least the man could see that Celine was in a bad condition.

“I didn’t ask for who did what and who didn’t” the arrogant man said.

“They caused the problems we were acting out in self-defense” Roland suddenly blurted causing Eleanor’s eyes to bulge out as saucers. Celine was still shivering badly and she just hoped their dean would help them here.

But just as always money spoke and that was the case at this point.

“I know exactly what happened here, you two low classed bitches thought the well to do will mingle with you that’s why you have been trying to harm them right?” he asked Eleanor and Celine as she tried to explain they weren’t at fault but he wouldn’t have it as he let Roland leave with his minions a great smirk on his face.

“Miss Black and Steel detention now” Mr. Rod said.

“But sir, she is literally shaking can’t you let us go to the infirmary and after she’s been attended to we would come for detention” a frustrated Eleanor whined as she just wanted her friend not to get serious but had she known better she would have stayed quiet.

“Two days for detention as a matter of fact, one week” he said no remorse.

‘But our grades would be affected and we would not be able to graduate with a low GPA score sir please” Eleanor pleaded.

“Miss Steel I wouldn’t repeat myself again” he said.

“It’s okay Elle we can go to detention I would be fine” Celine finally responded.

“But..” Eleanor began but Celine shut her up.

They walked down the corridor with other student looking at them and some took out their phones to take videos for their personal ridicule later on.

“Put your head on my shoulders and forget about all of these okay?” Eleanor said.

“I trust you sis” Celine commented as they got to the detention hall.

So Eleanor guided tired Celine to the detention hall where where ready to hear the worst!

Eleanor was pretty disgusted by the Dean's action. She wondered why the Man could not have a little bit of integrity, she wondered why the school was so corrupt that they put money and class above to detriment of Someone's live.

She swore to herself that moment that when she graduates she was going to be a voice to the poor who were oppressed but for now she could hardly do anything.

Celine on the other hand was crying bitterly, asking God why her life was a sad tale, "why does everyone and everything hates me? " she thought to herself.

When they got to the detention hall, the Dean was already seated waiting for them.

He had drafted out their detention letter.

He stretched his hand out for Eleanor to collect the content but she stared hard at him with a tear-filled eyes, she has been trying hard to lock in her emotions but now she was overwhelmed.

"Why are you doing this sir? " She sobbed, " You know we are totally not at fault right? "

"My friend was badly attacked by those nuisance and all you could do is make us suffer for it"

"Where is your Conscience sir?" "huh? Where ?"

Mr Rod hushed her " Enough! " "Yes I know what just happened but there's nothing I can do to help you".

"The boy we are talking about comes from a family that's very influential on this school" "if I solved this case as it should be, I would loose my Job"

"And do I still want my Job?" "Yes I do, I have a whole family to cater for" I'm not about to be an irresponsible man with that he put the letter in Eleanor's hands.

Now the tears rolled down freely and she took he friend and herself home.

She got home bathed her friend with slightly hot water and took her to the pharmacy for proper medication. Even when Celine was fine she kept crying and complaining ,she could not bring herself to understand while life was treating her like that.

Eleanor made sure to take care of her during the detention. She played Celine's favourite music, did all the house chores and cooked Celine's favourite dishes. She was always checking up on Celine and dm Celine could not be more grateful for her friend and Sister.
