“How are you doing, Selena?” Hawk murmured as his gaze wandered over her.

“As if you do not know how I’m doing? Dad, when did you care for me?” Selena scowled.

“Do not deny me a father’s concern, Selena. I need to see for myself that he has not harmed you.”

Her lips trembled as she tried to fight off the fear of what Hawk would do to her.
