C3 Let's Get Married

Li Huang took a step back, just to make sure that all the cameras were capturing her. Upon seeing the flashes from different directions, she slowly smiled and waved. The turmoil bubbled up in her chest, but she ignored it.

"I've already decided that the engagement between the Shao and Lih Family is over. After all, our family's value has long since degraded in the past few years." She sighed as if she had just suffered from the loss. "I have no value to Mr. Shao Molee anymore, so I understand why he'd do such a thing."

His expression had turned dark as soon as the words slipped his lips.

Although it was subtle, she was basically saying that he was nothing more than an ingrate–one who cared more for social status than for love. The meaning obviously didn't go unnoticed by the press.

"I indeed lost my virginity before marriage, but before I explain that, I'd like to show all of you something first."

With a shake of her head, she fished out her phone from her pockets and turned it on. She glanced at the photos and videos before stopping at one. Her smile turned bitter as she looked up. The reporters crowded around her in interest.

A couple was brought to the spotlight in the video.

"The woman in the video is none other than my stepmother's niece, Mss Qiao Yimo," she said calmly as if she was just talking about the weather. "As for the man, I'm sure all of you recognized him. He's none other than Shao Molee–the man who had acted like a victim just now."

He didn't even wait for the press to leave as he stomped towards her. Wrenching her phone from her hands, he flung it to the tiles. "Li Huang!"

Where the hell did she get this video?

She stayed, frozen and unmoved. Her face no longer displayed the gentleness she had shown him earlier. Instead, a cold, threatening look threaded across her features, enough to make a few people flinch at the sight.

Not bothering with him, she swept her gaze to the crowd. "I don't think President Shao has already gotten together with my 'sister'. That was why I wanted to maintain my chastity for him...until...until–"

"You're twisting the truth!" Shao Molee gritted his teeth.

Li Huang smiled mockingly. "Now, why would I? If you still aren't convinced by the truth, then I suggest asking President Shao himself to provide some evidence to refute my claims. I dare him."

"You–!"

He didn't expect that she'd actually have the nerve to come here! Hell, even if he had, how the heck was he supposed to know that she had kept that video? The woman had far too many secrets. He paled.

"Where the hell am I going to find any evidence if I don't know who you've hooked up with?"

"Ah, well, now you're going to." Her eyes glinted as she tilted her chin more proudly. "Now that the truth's out, I can now introduce him to the world–but it's not like you're unfamiliar with him. He's probably the most outstanding man in the world! A man who's twice the man President Shao wished he could be. The CEO of the Dihao Group–Xi Muqian."

Silence completely overwhelmed them, and the atmosphere around them had tensed immensely. Nobody moved, looking as if they were afraid that someone would shoot them with a sniper.

Even Shao Molee was stunned to silence.

She cheated on him with Xi Muqian?

One of the reports was the first one to react. He coughed violently. "But according to the rumors, Director Xi..."

However, as soon as the words slipped his lips, he suddenly fell silent.

After all, no one dared insult Director Xi to his face, and he definitely wouldn't do it live. It was like signing a death warrant! Although the man may be sexually ill, he was still the most powerful man in the city.

Understanding what he meant, a faint smile wove its way into her lips. "It's better not to believe a bunch of nonsense, especially when you don't have any proof yourself." Her eyes flashed. "After all, you've seen how rumors fly."

This was undoubtedly going to be the biggest news today!

And Li Huang was going to take full advantage of that. Clasping her hands together, she brightly gazed at the cameras. "So many of you have already witnessed it. From this day onwards, I have nothing to do with Mr. Shao."

Not even bothering to glance in his direction, she turned around and left.

"Mr. Shao! Do you have any comments?" As she had already gone, the reporters only had one source of information now–the Shao Family. They immediately gathered around them like moths to a flame. "What can you say about the video?"

Shao Molee clenched his fists. That bitch!

Two hours later, Li Huang stood by the gates of Xi Muqian's villa once again. A shiver shot down her spine as she stared at the looming gates.

This time, she didn't come willingly. Instead, she had been 'invited' by his men. "This way, Madame," one of the bodyguards stated, leading her into the large living room–the very same room she had stayed at a few hours ago.

There, sitting by the tea table, was Xi Muqian. His hands trailed around one of the teapots as he played around with his tea almost elegantly. "You may leave," he said gently, and the guards nodded in response. They were finally left alone.l

'What the hell is he going to do with me?' So many thoughts rushed through her mind as she stood by the edge of the room. Her head was bowed, and she didn't dare look up. If the man didn't let her sit, then she wasn't going to move!

As if she didn't exist, he stood up and walked towards the bookshelf on the other side of the room. He picked up a book and sat back down, flipping through the pages while leisurely drinking down his tea. The man didn't even look at her!

Two hours had passed, and her legs had already gone numb. And he still hadn't spoken to her!

How long was he going to make her wait?

To Li Huang, this was probably the worst punishment she could've ever taken. Not the standing, but the silent treatment! What was he even thinking? Her eyes brightened and dulled as she grew anxious by the second.

Just as she had gotten lost in her thoughts, Xi Muqian finally placed his book back on his desk.

"Do you really have nothing to say?" He looked up.

"I...Look, I'm sorry I didn't ask your permission...It's just..."

Guilt stirred in her stomach.

"So...I'm the mistress?"

Li Huang swallowed.

However, Xi Muqian didn't seem angry as he waved her over. "Come here."

Crap! Was he going to beat her up? He wouldn't be that vicious, would he? But then with all those torture instruments in his basement... Her hands clenched into fists as she tried to steady herself from quaking.

"I don't like repeating myself."

Seeing as she had no other choice, she slowly walked towards him.

Before she could even steady herself, Xi Muqian took the initiative to wrap his hand around her wrist. Immediately, he pulled her towards him.

She stumbled over and fell onto his leg. He could feel his body stiffening from the sudden warm contact, but a few seconds later, he found his arms wrapping around her waist, pull her closer to his chest.

It was like what had happened back at the staircase.

But it was safer this time...even warmer...

And it wasn't a coincidence...

Ever since the incident, he couldn't bring himself to touch women. Just a simple brush of the skin would make him go into a panic, crouching in anxiety as he pushed himself even further from societal normalcies.

Li Huang was the second woman he had touched in the last seven years where he hadn't fallen ill...Could she have mitigated the side effects of his illness?

While his thoughts held confusion and wariness, hers held panic. Remembering all the warnings she had received, she was just about to wrench herself from his grip when she heard his words, "Let's get married."
