C11 This Man Was both a Maggot and a Dog
The restroom was dimly lit, casting a hazy glow. Suddenly, Jo Ann found herself pressed against the door by him, her heart skipping a beat, almost losing her breath.
"Take it easy, there are people outside." Her voice was sweet but tinged with barely contained panic.
"How many people have you tried to seduce like this?" Mo Kai's voice was low, seemingly laced with anger. "You and Sitang, was there ever anything?"
"No, just you." Jo Ann replied with a flippant yet honest tone.
She had never tried to seduce anyone else like this; he was the only one she genuinely flirted with.
"Do you believe I could have my way with you right here?" Mo Kai's husky voice whispered in her ear, as his cold fingertips traced over Jo Ann's brows, eyes, nose, lips, neck, and further, exploring every inch without missing a spot, as if searching for something.
A shiver ran through Jo Ann.
This man was dangerously enticing!
Despite his polished appearance, complete with gold-rimmed glasses that gave him a scholarly and restrained look, his words were provocative, and his actions were assertively measured.
Jo Ann thought he was trying to make her yield.
But she refused.
One second, two seconds...
"Director Mo, who knew you had a thing for this, in the restroom?" Jo Ann glanced around, stubbornly challenging him.
"Scared?"
"What would I be scared of? If I really became your woman, I could walk around this city like I owned it." Jo Ann's heart pounded, but her words were sharp as ever.
"Do you want to?"
"What?"
"Walk with swagger?"
"I dream about it."
Mo Kai looked down at the woman in his arms with a regal air. After a moment, his chiseled face slowly moved closer, until they could feel each other's breath.
Their eyes met, intertwining like threads.
Being so close, Qiao Ann was enveloped by his fresh, appealing scent mixed with a hint of tobacco. She could even feel the heat radiating from his solid frame.
Oh no! Qiao Ann's mind screamed.
This man’s features, aura, and even his scent hit every one of her aesthetic preferences!
She felt like her heart was racing wildly!
His breath moved from her ear to her neck...
Qiao Ann couldn't help but close her eyes, tilting her neck in response.
Suddenly, he let out a low chuckle and, in the next moment, released her and stepped back.
Without his solid support, she nearly sank to the floor.
A deep, teasing voice broke the silence, "Miss Qiao, you better head back, wash up, and get some sleep. Sweet dreams."
Ugh!
This man was as charming as he was infuriating!
Qiao Ann knew Mo Kai's suggestion for her to leave meant his patience was wearing thin, so she quickly got back to the point.
"Director Mo, did you really look over my proposal?"
Mo Kai replied nonchalantly, "Yeah."
Qiao Ann pressed, "And?"
Mo Kai responded, "You already know."
"Was that woman's proposal better than mine? Is mine that bad?!"
Mo Kai gazed at her, "Lacking confidence? Hers doesn't come close to yours."
Qiao Ann couldn't help but feel a flicker of joy.
"So, does that mean I...?"
"No chance."
Qiao Ann felt like biting him. This man had a knack for giving a sweet compliment only to drop a bombshell right after.
"Can you give me a reason to cut ties with Fuyang?" Qiao Ann looked at him expectantly.
"Be patient, you'll find out soon enough." Mo Kai straightened his slightly wrinkled shirt, signaling her to step aside.
Since he said she'd know soon, Qiao Ann decided not to push it, but her eyes drifted down Mo Kai's face.
"Are you not going to use the restroom?" she asked, genuinely concerned. After all, he was here, and it wouldn't do to leave with his zipper undone.
"Qiao Ann," Mo Kai warned.
If it weren't for the close proximity where he felt her soft body tremble slightly and her obvious teasing ambition, he might have thought she was just a casual woman. As for the restroom, who said coming here meant you had to use it?
"Oh, come on, you're overthinking it! Don't worry, I'm leaving now!" Joanne realized her awkwardness, quickly slipped off her high heels, and deftly tossed them toward the window.
"What are you doing?" Mark frowned.
"Making room for you." The next moment, Joanne stepped onto the sink and swiftly climbed out the window.
"Director Mo, I'll keep revising the proposal until you're satisfied! Sorry for the intrusion today, see you next time!" Joanne was about to jump down but suddenly remembered something and turned back.
"Director Mo, see you in my dreams tonight!"
Before Mark could react, she was already gone.
Mark shook his head, turned on the faucet, and let the water wash over the back of his hand where Yvonne had touched it not long ago.
