C15 Uncle Do You Lack a Wife?
"Hey there, mister! My name's Xinyi. It's like 'deep affection' and 'admiration.' You're really handsome, mister. Do you need a wife?" Xinyi clung to Mo Kai's sleeve, her little mouth rattling off like a machine gun.
Beside them, Gao Yi couldn't help but chuckle softly. His Second Young Master really had a way with people of all ages.
Mo Kai was taken aback. It was the first time a little girl, barely the size of a dumpling, had asked him if he needed a wife.
"Little one, that's a question for when you're older."
"Xinyi, show some restraint," Zhan said with a frown, gently prying Xinyi's hand off Mo Kai's sleeve and pulling her behind him. He looked up at Mo Kai with a mature air, "I'm sorry, sir. My sister is young and doesn't know better."
Gao Yi chuckled again. The tone and expression were just like his Second Young Master's.
Mo Kai glanced at Gao Yi, who stifled his laughter with a cough.
Looking at the little boy standing protectively like a mother hen, Mo Kai couldn't help but ask, "And what's your name?"
"Mister, we're not acquainted, so there's no need for you to know my name."
Gao Yi's inner monologue was in full swing. Daring to talk back to the Second Young Master—what a character! I like it.
The little girl peeked out from behind her elbow and called back to Mo Kai, "Jingzhan, like the clear sky! You can just call him Zhan!"
"Xinyi, do you still want to watch the clouds?" Zhan asked, his tone adorably fierce.
"Yes! Uncle, do you want to watch the clouds with us?"
Mo Kai didn't quite know why, but when he saw the little girl's bright eyes, he instinctively nodded, "Sure."
"Ding!" The elevator doors opened, and they reached the 66th floor.
"Let's go. I know the best spot to watch the clouds," Mo Kai said, stepping out with his long strides.
Xinyi quickly tried to follow but was held back by Zhan. "Xinyi, you can't just go with strangers!"
Xinyi looked exasperated and suddenly pulled out a mini iPad from her small crossbody bag. She tapped it a couple of times and whispered in Zhan's ear.
"Look, I snapped a photo of this uncle on the first floor. I heard someone say he's the CEO! That means he's the boss! If Mom works here and the CEO has her back, no one will dare to bully her! Plus, don't you think he's handsome? Wouldn't it be great if he became our dad? Come on, don't mess this up!"
With that, Xinyi dashed after Mo Kai.
Zhan shook his head in resignation and followed along.
"Wow—there are so many clouds!" Xinyi exclaimed, pressing against the large floor-to-ceiling window, her excitement palpable.
Mo Kai took off his suit jacket and draped it over the sofa before joining her at the window. "Do you like it?"
"Yeah, it's beautiful! Uncle, can we be friends?" Xinyi suddenly turned to him, asking earnestly.
"Of course," Mo Kai replied, surprised at how quickly he agreed. He couldn't help but think he might be defenseless against this charming child.
"Then can I come here often to watch the clouds?"
So that was her plan. He smiled softly, "Sure."
Content, Xinyi continued to gaze at her clouds.
Mo Kai turned and noticed a little boy who had been quietly sitting in the corner of the sofa since they arrived. He seemed deeply focused on something.
These siblings were truly different—one was lively, the other calm and composed.
Mo Kai walked over and was surprised to see the boy was interested in a Rubik's Cube, a hobby they both shared.
Zhan had his head down, appearing to be deep in thought.
Mo Kai noticed that the Rubik's Cube in Zhan's hands was nearly solved, with just one side left incomplete.
A tall figure cast a shadow over him. "Need some help?"
Zhan looked up with his handsome face, pondered for a moment, and nodded.
Mo Kai sat beside him, and in just a few seconds, he completed it!
Zhan, usually so serious, suddenly had a spark in his eyes.
"Want me to teach you?" Mo Kai asked, surprised by his own patience with the child.
Mo Kai demonstrated step by step for Zhan, then gently asked, "Got it?"
Zhan took back the Rubik's Cube, scrambled it, and his small hands began to twist it again, murmuring to himself, "Up, right, down, right, counter left, clockwise left, up left, clockwise down, counter down, up left, down left, up left, left, down left, left, up left, up left, up right, down right, down right."
Success!
Zhan held up the completed Rubik's Cube to Mo Kai, his little face showing rare excitement.
Mo Kai was stunned. He had only demonstrated one step, yet this little guy figured out the entire formula for a 3x3 Rubik's Cube. It was quite unexpected.
"Ring, ring—"
A sound came from Zhan's small bag. He set down the Rubik's Cube and pulled out the source of the noise, pressing the button to silence it. It was a small alarm clock.
In the next moment, Zhan skillfully took out a small box and a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, and called out, "Xinyi."
Xinyi ran over cooperatively and obediently swallowed the contents.
Mo Kai suddenly realized that this little girl had a complexion so pale it was almost translucent, and there might be a reason for it. His heart was inexplicably tugged.
Such a small and well-behaved girl.
The boy was so mature it was heart-wrenching.
Perhaps sensing the change in the handsome uncle's mood, Xinyi sat closer and said, "Uncle, I'm taking magic pills. Mom says I'm an angel who fell to Earth, different from other kids, so I need to take these."
Mo Kai gently patted her head. "Yes, you're my little angel."
Xinyi happily snuggled against Mo Kai's arm, making his heart feel like it was melting.
