C14 Misunderstanding
"I really didn't need to worry after all. I was already able to have deep conversations with her. The misunderstandings between us probably didn't mean much to her anymore, did they?"
Qiao Lijing shook his head, mocking himself, before he aimlessly wandered back to his room. Staring at the stack of unwashed dishes, he suddenly found his own behavior utterly ridiculous.
"Why did I insist on making her breakfast so early? And after failing so many times, why am I still willing to give it another shot?"
Qiao Lijing pondered in frustration.
Without realizing it, Bo Junhuan's place in his heart had elevated significantly.
Bo Junhuan was completely unaware of what had transpired. She only knew that being with Fu Yichen made her feel truly at ease, even though she maintained her distance.
"Here we are," announced Fu Yichen, gesturing towards the bustling ice rink ahead, filled with people of all ages skating—some with their grandchildren, others with friends and family.
"The ice rink."
"Yes, the seniors here really focus on staying active, so they often come to skate. This is a place where you can fully enjoy your own little world!"
Bo Junhuan had never tried ice skating before and looked at Fu Yichen with a lack of confidence.
"But I have no idea how to skate. I'm bound to make a fool of myself."
Fu Yichen's laugh was robust and sunny, as if it could warm the hearts of all who heard it.
"Don't worry, I'm here for you. I'll guide you."
Somehow, Bo Junhuan felt an unexpected sense of reassurance.
"Okay, I'll trust you. Just make sure I don't fall."
Fu Yichen smiled warmly, reaching out as if to pat Bo Junhuan's head, but he quickly withdrew his hand in an awkward gesture.
He confidently approached the rental counter and said to the attendant,
"Boss, we need two pairs of skates. One pair size 42, the other size 36."
Bo Junhuan was taken aback.
"How did you know my size?"
Fu Yichen gave a light smile.
"You mentioned it during your live stream, remember? Silly."
Now Bo Junhuan understood what Fu Yichen meant, yet she couldn't shake off a sliver of reluctance. Their relationship remained ambiguous as they supported each other, stepping into the skating rink together.
"I didn't misunderstand you at all. You've got to help me when the time comes. If I fall, it's on you to take responsibility."
Fu Yichen heard this and simply laughed it off, showing no sign of displeasure.
He gently took Bo Junhuan's hand in his. Although Bo Junhuan felt a slight unease, it was just a normal handholding, so she didn't dwell on it.
Qiao Lijing reflected deeply in his kitchen, acknowledging that he had previously wronged Bo Junhuan. Thus, he couldn't lay all the blame on her.
If he had encountered such a deceitful woman, he too would feel disillusioned with his partner.
With that, Qiao Lijing tossed his handkerchief aside and his confidence in Bo Junhuan was renewed.
There's a saying, 'Torturing your wife might feel good momentarily, but wooing her back is like a funeral pyre.' Now, he understood the consequences all too well.
"I won't just give up."
Qiao Lijing quickly donned his suit and rushed out the door.
Even with a simple sprucing up, the elegantly dressed ladies and young women in the neighborhood couldn't help but admire him, cheering wherever he went.
Finally, following someone's directions, Qiao Lijing learned that Bo Junhuan and Fu Yichen were at the ice skating rink.
As he entered the rink, he saw the two skating together, sweetly holding hands and supporting each other.
A surge of anger erupted in his heart, exploding like fireworks within.
