C9 Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine

After a while they calmed down and Lexi went back to watching her cartoon, while the two adults sat down to discuss their plans.

It's going to be dangerous. Den we are talking about $1m.

Looking at her he asked "what do you suggest then."

Thinking for a moment she clapped her hands.

"I got it you are going to claim the ticket next week right" he nodded saying yes

"Then I suggest we pack our thing, everything we need that is, you quit your job tomorrow as it's Saturdays, me and Lexi will travel leave here while you handle everything here and collecting money, I suggest you don't let anyone know its you, put on a mask if you could so they won't trace us Den, then deposit the money immediately you collect it into your bank, then come meet us in the train station."

What do you think, looking at her he said "I mean it could work." He said smiling looking at her still not believing they finally got the breakthrough they were looking for.

Getting up she stretched forth her hands, chuckling as tears poured down his eyes he got up to hug her.

What about me? They turned to see the little girl folding her hands pouting angrily at the door, chuckling as they called her over.

Smiling, she chuckled before running for the hug.

Waking up late the next morning with a smile on his face, it's been long he slept in like this he thought, turning to his side he saw his daughter coil up next to him, looking at her for some moment, he smiled he was finally going to be able to give her the life he promised her, she was going to live life just like her Barbie's, he thought chuckling as he remembered a time she asked him if she could live like a Barbie.

Smiling he put his hands into her hair untangling it gently so as not to wake her up. Kissing her forehead he stood up and went into the bathroom to get ready, today was the day he quit his job, and man to say he was happy was an understatement.

Getting out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, he turned towards the bed to wake his daughter, rubbing her eyes trying to get rid of the sleep.

"Good morning sweetheart"

"Morning Daddy, are you going out again?" Nodding his head as an answer as he continued to untangle her hair.

"But you said you were going to quit, I thought you got a better job" she asked.

Gasping not waiting for her dad to respond, she sat on in laps, she held his cheeks.

"Did they say they don't want you there again Daddy, don't worry, don't be sad you will get another one" the little girl said hugging her dad trying to comfort him.

Smiling at the thoughtfulness of his daughter he hugged her back before pushing her a bit to face him

"No sweetheart, I am going to quit my current job, so I will be able to go to the new one next week," he said.

Looking at him she nodded smiling. "Okay Daddy, does that mean you are coming home early."

He smiled before saying yes to which the little girl clapped, bouncing as she was happy, she wasn't going to school today and her dad was going to be around, that means they can finally get to play during the day.

Walking down the stairs with his daughter in his hands, as she demanded he give her bath, to which he complied as were he was going to wasn't that urgent.

Seeing Tay she greeted her good morning before placing the little girl down who ran to hug her aunt greeting her, hugging her back she smiled telling them breakfast was ready.

Eating their breakfast they decided to talk after they were through.

Putting the plate in the sink as he helped her clear the table and take out the trash.

Coming in the kitchen he asked when she was going to quit her job, laughing she replied

"Already done that Den I called him over the phone and rubbed it in his face that I quit and was leaving."

Really what did he say "well nothing much other than I am ungrateful, he kept yelling about how unprofessional I am to leave just because he said he liked me and I was like news flash dude you're disgusting feeling doesn't matter here am leaving cause I found something better."

Chuckling he patted her back before saying "well am going to quit mine now, he is going to be angry as I am late already."

Smiling at her he waved before carrying his backpack walking to the front door, immediately he opened the front he was hugged from behind turning he saw her with tears in her eyes.

Quickly turning he hugged her and asked what was wrong. "Nothing is so sorry, it's just that I am so happy for you. Den you finally got to start your life all over again and am so happy."

Smiling he hugged her tightly trying not to cry himself "thank you Tay, thank you for always being there for me, I am so grateful."

Releasing him she chuckled before asking him to go quickly so as to come back early. Waving once again he turned and left.

Looking at the restaurant he took a deep breath before entering through the back, as work had already started and he could not use the front, walking in the restaurant he went to his boss office, standing at the door he could hear yelling coming from the inside.

Knocking the door he waited patiently for a come in before entering.

"Oh would you look, the king finally decided to bless us with his presence" "well save your excuse I already found a replacement for you to get out."

Looking at him trying his best not to smile, he looked at him trying to politely explain himself but he yelled, so bowing once more he turned and left.

Walking to the dressing room to get his things he met his colleagues there who looked at him with pity in their eyes "am sorry dude we tried our best to cover for you" smiling at them he said it was okay getting his thing he walked back out through the back door.

Immediately at the door he looked around checking to see if there was anyone there, after confirming he was alone he started dancing and making his way out of the premises.

Passing by a supermarket he decided to get some snacks so they could eat on the trip.

Reaching home he opened the door calling out to them. Running to her dad excited to see him home early, she saw him holding some bags.

Giving the one that contained ice cream to her telling to enjoy it she opened it smiling jumping as it was her favorite. After they were down with some snacks they stayed in the living room to discuss their plan.

"I think me and Lexi should leave this evening so you would be able to prepare yourself" "As I said before we would wait for you in the train station on Monday after everything then you come meet us there, have packed the necessary things me and Lexi will need" She said.

Nodding his head in agreement at the perfect plan, he turned his focus back to television as he cuddled with his daughter on the big couch, his mind going far as he still couldn't believe their life was changing.

Tay continued, I got the contacts of some bodyguard for future purposes, she said looking at him but it seemed his mind was not in what they were discussing again.

Looking up at her dad she tapped him before motioning her head towards her aunt.

Looking at Tay who raised her eyebrows at him, he smiled sheepishly.

Looking at him she shakes her head. "Den I thought of something."

"what?" He asked.

"Why don't you go back to school and complete it, meanwhile having some small business around so people won't be that suspicious." She said looking at him waiting for his response. Nodding his head he agreed.

It was evening already, their loads were packed and the cab was outside waiting for them.

Looking around one more time he was going to definitely miss this place he thought.

Joining their hands they prayed before they left the house locking the door and leaving the key under the doormat for the landlord.

Entering the car Lexi couldn't contain her excitement as they never really got to travel, it was their first time going on a trip and she was very happy about that.
