Chapter : 2

[Angelica Woods ]

Could i be more accurate on my own assumptions ? Or should i just consider it as fake . What should i do ? Take it or leave it ? The moment i walked out of Miss Stella's house i started thinking about that lady . Was she really John Romano's wife ? Could she really be ?

Their family was definitely rich , or should i call it royals ? How many questions have i asked myself now again ? I chuckled at my own behavior and continued walking to my house . As i opened the door of my little apartment house i spotted my sister cooking and i smiled at her tenderly .

"Susan , you can go study , i'll handle the rest " i said and washed my hands . "Its alright sister , i could give you a hand sometimes, why don't you go take a bath ?" She suggested and i nodded . " where is mother ?" I asked and she sighs . " working late , she told me not to worry " i only nodded .

Half way through the evening my mother finally arrived home , I was worried , not to mention the cold weather in the middle of this season.

"Mom ! How many times do i have to tell you , don't be out this late " i stated but she only gave me a tender smile . " I am a single mother honey , i have to do my part as well don't I ?"

I sigh at her and continue placing the plates for dinner . After the dinner i walked in my room and took off my clothes . Somewhere in between while i was wearing my night shorts i saw a paper peep out of my pants and i remembered the card . I take it in my hand and sat on my bed looking at it intensely.

She sure was a lady with her word , i could feel her strong aura radiating from her body . My door opened and came in mom . "You looked in a deep though while dinning , thought you could talk to me about it " she said and pull my knees to my chest making space for her to sit . "What is it ?" She asked and i groan .

"So ..i got another offer from a sort of rich women to work for her , but i don't know " i confessed .

"Its your decision, if she can give you what you want then why don't you consider it ?" She said and walked out . I bite my lip and look at the card . Will she really consider employing me ? Someone like me ?

Fuck it .

I dial her number and held it to my ear .

"This is Miss Thea's assistance, she is a bit busy right now may i leave a message ?" She asked and i let out a heavy breath . "Umm ..I am Angelica Woods .." before i could speak further the lady on the other side made her voice through , " Miss Woods ! , i am happy to hear from you , just a minute " she replied and i raised my eyebrows.

"Angelica " Her voice came through and i gulp . " H-Hi " i reply , " thought you would never call , have you considered my offer yet ?" She asked and i looked over my ceiling. "I may have but we need to negotiate " i said .

"Name it " she said .

"I must have Sundays off and i want an advance payment " i said with a fear in my heart .

"No problem , give my assistant your address and i'll send my car tomorrow at eight in the morning, it will bring you to my office we'll discuss the rest later , until tomorrow " she said and her voice was replaced by that assistance's again . I politely gave her my address and hung up letting out a heavy sigh .

Wait , did i do the right thing accepting her offer ? I don't know .

The next morning i wore a peach coloured decent dress and walked out with my handbag . As i made my way to the exit a car was already waiting for me . The driver walked out and gave a curt nod towards me . " Miss Angelica? " he asked and i nodded . He opened the back door from me and i got in .

The car ride itself was nail biting . But this wasn't a job interview, it was simply me and that intimidating lady negotiating on my future job . That somehow gave me some relaxation. But as soon as we pulled up to the big grey building my knees became week .

I was guided towards a elevator and the door man pressed the level twenty . The silence was not good , i was trembling now . Soon the door opened and i stepped out only to be knocked on the ground forcefully.

I groaned and sat up to see a man cursing . "Hey lady !! Can't you fucking see ?" He yelled and turned around .

He was handsome , tall , his sleeves folded to his elbow making him more gorgeous but my anger rose .

"Sorry for the language sir but it was you who knocked me down , i believe you should've looked around a bit " i said straightening my dress . He was about to open his mouth when a man dressed in black suit whispered something in his ear . He gave me a nasty stern look before walking away .

"Are you ok ?" Someone asked and turned around to face a deadly but yet another hot man . His gaze was so dangerous yet somehow he seemed nice . " i am fine " i replied blushing . He nodded and walked away .

Wow , seems like this company only hires hot men . I look around to see a women staring at me with a shocked look .

" excuse me , i was here to meet Miss Thea " i said and she blinked . "Did you just talk to him ?" She asked and i frowned . " what ?" I asked . " oh god ..did he just talk to you !?" She said and i raised my eyebrows.

"I am sorry , but what ? " i asked again . This time she only shook her head and told me to walk inside the glass door office .

As i sat on the couch i remembered that man and blushed again . Who was he ? His voice was so rough yet so smooth for me .

"Angelica " i divert my attention to Miss Thea walking towards me . I stood up and smiled at her .

"Come with me " she said and we walked inside another office .

"I did go through your education and i am considering this because you have already showed me your work . You will work under me but for my son " she said and i hummed in confusion.

"My son has already rejected many cooks " wait ! I don't want to be your son's cook

She looked at me . Did i just say that out loud ?

"And why wouldn't you cook ?" She asked .I cleared my throat and looked at her ," I am a nutritionist, not a cook , i thought you were about to give me an opportunity to go further in my profession but it seems unlike it " i said .

"You aren't his cook , you are his personal nutritionist, you will make him breakfast, lunch and dinner considering to keep the health level in that food balanced . This job will pay you double of what you get currently and you are getting sunday's off . His appetite has decreased a lot , i turst you to bring it back . " she said ..

Should I ?

"Can i get the advance payment please? " i asked and she slided a envelope across the glass table towards me . I bite my lip but didn't touch it . " why do need a advance payment ?" She asked and sigh . " M..my sister , i have to pay for her books and college fees till next month " i replied and she nodded .

"What does your mother do ?" She asked and i gulped .

"My mother works in a restaurant as a chef " i reply and Miss Thea raised her eyebrows.

"So she's the hand behind your cooking skills " she replied and i nodded . " Tell me , why did you want to be a nutritionist " she asked and looked up to her . " I ..I wanted to do something better with my life . I want to start my own clinic and help someone " i stated . " Who ?" She asked .

"The children from the hostages, i have seen how they eat and how they are treated , i want to provide them the right meals that they deserve " i said and the image fashed in my head .

I still remember my high school teacher selecting me to represent my class and taking me to a hostage with all kinds of children under the age of eighteen . I saw how they live and what they eat . That was when i thought i could help them by providing appropriate food to them . Little did i know that was gonna be too hard for me from the next day .

"You start tomorrow, the car will pick you up at six in the morning, you will cook the breakfast and come again for lunch and then again for dinner . " she said and i nodded .

"And Angelica " she called and i look at her . " he hates Fish " she said and nodded . But laughing inside .

I ran to my car and smirked at my victory. "Boss " I looked up to see my pal . "What " i asked getting in and he got in as well . " The Russian's are caught . They were trafficking women man ! " he yelled and tensed up .

" what ?" I asked and started the car .

"Ya but we caught them and Harry took care of it " he said and i nodded . " How about some drinks since your mood looks quite good " he said grinning and i nodded keeping a straight face .

Like i always do .

But somewhere in the middle of driving my mind suddenly flash me the picture of that women . She was beautiful no doubt...but something about her intrigued me .
