C9 Similarities
River has been living at Spencer's mansion for a few weeks now and during those few weeks. Spencer has always taken her with him wherever he goes. So she has no idea why she is always with him, it's just not only her was the woman. but there are five of them living here in the mansion.
River wanted to sleep but her eyes didn't want to cooperate, so she turned to get up and left her room. She slowly went down the stairs because the hallway was a bit dark. When she got to the kitchen she opened the refrigerator and took a jug then took a glass and poured water on it. She had just planned to drink water but suddenly her stomach tremble to signal that she was already feeling hungry. So she peeked into the refrigerator. And looking for something to eat. Her smile widened when she saw the gelatin inside, so she immediately took it and sat on the island stool then started eating it. In the middle of her meal, there was a voice of a woman spoke from behind her.
"Are you hungry?" The woman asked. So she immediately turned to the speaker from behind her.
"Hm_ slightly!"
She smiled shyly at the woman who immediately became familiar with her. Because this is the woman she helped from Spencer's cruelty. She passed by with a smile and then checked the refrigerator. and get water. River watched her and notice the bruises from Spencer's whip. She immediately felt pity for the woman and she couldn't restrain herself from asking.
"O_ are you okay?" She asked softly and full of concern. River knew this shouldn’t be asked but she wanted to know something about Spencer’s behavior and the people here at the mansion. Because with each passing day, her curiosity about the people she meets here in the mansion is eradicating her.
"Hmm_ I'm pretty okay too, thanks for catching Master Spencer's whip on me ah," her smile was full of gloom. River smiled softly and then offered her gelatin.
"Thank you but I don't eat sweets," she said.
"Oh_ that's right, all right. Okay," River felt shy and slightly embarrassed, but suddenly the woman reached out her palm in front of River.
"I'm Julie, what's your name?" Julie introduced herself with a smile. River immediately reached for her palm and then introduced herself.
"I'm River, nice knowing you!" She said full of tenderness. They quickly got advantageous and then Julie greeted her.
"By the way, how did you get here?" Julie asked while staring at River.
"Hmm_ I became my dad's collateral for his huge debt to Mr. Vilavide," she answered softly.
"We're the same, my father sold me for his debt too." Julie's phrase of those words was tinged with anger.
"How long you were here?" River began to question Julie.
"Yeah, about three months over as well," Julie answered quickly.
"Is that so," River replied briefly in her answer then chew her gelatin.
"I guess Master Spencer isn't hurting you?" Julie's question was tinged with astonishment. River immediately thought this was the right time to talk about Spencer. Even though she doesn't get much information at least she can get a little bit.
“Hmm_ he’s hurting me too Julie, not just physically but emotionally! I just look okay but I'm emotionally and physically hurt." She admitted. She saw Julie's palm clenching on the table, so she knew she was hiding something. And that's what she wanted to know.
"That's how he is River! He's even worse than the devil! If you only knew how impudent he was you would probably hate and get mad at him!" Julie scolded her angrily. River felt pity and sadness for Julie. She knew there was a deeper reason why Julie reacted like this every time Spencer was mentioned. So she gently touched Julie's clenched fist causing her to look at her and show her a tender smile.
"Don't worry I'm on your side here Julie, you will get out of here soon. The Lord will guide us." River's words of consolation to Julie. He smiled sparingly at her then let out a deep breath and also held River's hand.
"Thank you River, you know you're the only people here that I'm relieved of." She said it sincerely to River. River laughed softly at what she said.
"Me too, you know, since I've been living here, I haven't been able to walk around the mansion, so I haven't talked to anyone," she admits. Julie laughed at River's talkativeness.
"Even me. when I was new here, I was never able to go around because I was preceded by shame and at the same time I was scared." She even shrugged.
"We're the same, hmm! But have you ever tried to walk around here? around the mansion? Are we allowed to walk around here?" River's question was full of curiosity. She doesn't remember that they were allowed or forbidden to walk around the mansion.
"We're allowed, but Master Spencer forbids his staff to talk to us," Julie replied.
"Ahh is that so," was her short reply.
"How about this, do you want us to take a walk tomorrow?" She smiled inviting River. River's smile widened then nodded.
"Oh! That's great! What time is it?" River smiled full of joy.
"When Master Spencer is gone," Julie replied with a wink.
"All right, all right! I agree." Then they laughed together.
For the first time, River had the opportunity to talk with someone here inside the mansion. So she was very happy talking to Julie. But they had no idea that Spencer was watching them on CCTV.
"Did Julie say anything to River?" Spencer asked Troy as he sipped his expensive wine. Troy bowed slightly and replied.
"No Master," Troy replied.
"We're going to get rid of the women tomorrow, including Julie." Spencer's no mercy and not taunting command to his butler. Troy didn't say a word right away and Spencer noticed that right away.
"Do I clear myself to you, Troy!" His tone was full of threatening. So Troy immediately bowed.
"Yes Master, how about Miss. River Madrigal?"
"Just the 4 women! Leave River, I won't let her go. I'm not done with her yet!" He answer then smiled sarcastically.
"Noted Master," Troy short replied.
Spencer knew in himself that he wasn't just after River's femininity. But there is a special quality that he likes about River especially when they are together. He always takes River with him on every important walk he takes, even if she looks pity. For him, River is his patience, River is the one who calms his chaotic behavior. He couldn't understand why, but there was something special with River that he felt. Every time she saw River she couldn’t help but think it was her ex-wife who cheated on her and left because of a man.
"F*ck!" He clenched his fist causing him to break his wine glass.
Troy was not surprised by Spencer's sudden change of mood because he was used to it and he knew the reason for this change.
