C25 What A Rude Child!!!!

Anna noticed his reaction but ignored it, considering that he was just a little kid. She then looked at the others and said, "Please excuse us." She held her brother’s hand and dragged him with her. They stopped at a certain distance away from Smiths.

"What a rude child!" Anna frowned.

Adam: "Who? Aiden."

"Huuu!" Anna nodded.

"No! From what I see, he is just possessive about his elder brother." Adam said while looking in the direction of Aiden who was still holding his brother’s hand. Adam too noticed Aiden’s cold behavior toward his sister.

Anna: "Whatever."

"So! Did you enjoy it?" Adam tried to change the topic, thinking that she was upset because of Aiden’s behavior.

Anna: "What?"

Adam: "Being a dance partner of the most awaited man at this party."

"My a**." She was angry but she couldn’t understand why? Anna's mind was a mess.

Adam: "Cough **Cough! Be careful about what you say, I am afraid that nobody will ask you for a dance after listening to such words from your mouth. We are in China not in America."

Anna: "I don’t care."

Adam: "But I do! It’s time for you to have a boyfriend now. He paused and said, "By the way, I liked him." And pointed in the direction of Lu Qiang.

"Then go and make him your boyfriend," Anna said annoyingly.

Adam: "Haha! I wish, but unfortunately, I am straight and I think he is interested in you. The way he was holding you while dancing, gave me goosebumps and I regretted being single for the first time in my life."

When these two were chatting, Asher too was busy with others but still, his sight was seeking a glimpse of Anna. She too was unknowingly looking at him. She wanted to avoid it desperately but couldn’t help it. She started to feel uncomfortable with his sight fixed on her.

Just then John and Alica came to them with one guest at the party. He was a very famous cardiologist from the same hospital where Adam was about to start his practice. Four of them were busy in their conversation. Anna excused herself and walked towards the door on the left side of the hall which opened into the huge lawn area of the hotel. She wanted to get some fresh air and relax.

When she reached the lawn, she saw a small shade that was quite far from the hall and was on the left side of the Lawn. All the lights around there were on. Everything looked bright because of so many lights. As she started to walk in the direction of the shade, she saw there was a man in a black suit under one tree which was at the extreme right corner of the lawn. The tree was quite far from the shade exactly perpendicular to it.

While walking, she was observing that man in between. The man was standing with the support of the tree. His back was resting on the tree trunk with his one leg bent backward to rest on the lower part of the trunk. He was smoking. She couldn’t see his face as he was far away and also the tree was blocking his face from the light on the lawn. As he finished the cigarette in his hand, he opened the cigarette pack in his hand and pulled out another one. He held it in his mouth and lit it up with the lighter. She frowned and ignored the man.

Anna reached the shade in a few minutes. It was a small and beautifully decorated shade having a space for only 5-6 people to stand comfortably inside it but there was no sitting arrangement. The shade had a metal railing around it, high enough to rich one’s waist, and was dyed in white glittery paint.

Anna walked inside it and stood there taking the support of the railing. Her brain was overflowing with so many thoughts at a time. She was upset with herself for getting affected because of him. She didn’t know what she was feeling. It was the first time something like that was happening to her and someone was affecting her to this extent. She couldn’t even stop it. There were so many "Whys" in her mind.

When she wanted to push him away, why she couldn’t do it wholeheartedly? When she was close to him, why she was so nervous? When he touched her, why she unknowingly liked it? When he teased her, why she couldn’t get angry at him for his bold and perverted words? When he peeked glances at her, why she couldn’t help but look back at him. Why she couldn’t control her heart from beating faster? Why she had to surrender to his words and obey them?

She was frustrated and angry. She closed her eyes and started to press her temples. She took deep breaths repeatedly to calm herself down. After that, she turned around to face in the opposite direction of the hall. She was standing with her both hands resting on the railing of the shade.

She looked to her right side in the direction of the tree, where the man in a black suit was standing before but to her surprise, he was gone. She then looked at the waterfall which was a few meters away from where she was standing. The mild sound of the flowing water in that beautiful waterfall made her feel better.

She was standing there with her eyes closed, listening to the sound of flowing water. After some time, she heard the sound of footsteps which was getting clearer with each passing moment. She opened her eyes and turned around just to find that someone was standing behind her.

Asher was talking to a few important guests who were associated with the Smith Corporation. He saw Anna leaving the hall from the door on the left side of the hall.

After a few minutes when he was done with the conversation, he went to accompany Aiden as he couldn’t give him much time. While he was talking to him, he saw Olivia coming in his direction holding two wine glasses in her hands with a big smile on her face. He pinched the place between his eyebrows with a deep sigh.

He just thought about something and then turned towards his cousin William who was sitting next to him and asked him to accompany Aiden till he returns. He got up from his seat and said to Aiden that he will be back in a while.

Asher headed in the direction of the door on the left side of the hall, through which Anna went out before. He reached the lawn and saw that the girl in a pink dress was standing alone in the shade which was quite far from the hall. She was facing in the opposite direction to him. He recognized her and walked fast in her direction. When he reached the shade, he stopped a few steps away from her as he didn’t want to startle her.

When Olivia saw that Asher was heading outside of the hall, she too followed him there, still carrying the two wine glasses in her hands.

Anna turned around and was stunned to see Asher standing behind her. She was just successful in her efforts to clear her mind and distract herself from thinking about him but now her every effort was in a vain. He was again standing in front of her.
