C13 Taking a Household Register
Hsing Nuannuan was carrying a heavy basket on her back as she climbed up the mountain. Wasn't it too far away from the village?
Was it possible that her parents were trying to avoid those extremely rich relatives? Hsing Nuannuan finally realized that her parents were like steamed buns. However, they were really bullied by those relatives, so in the end, they had to grit their teeth and build a house far away from the village.
However, it was not good to be too far away from them. After Hsing Nuannuan's parents died, those extremely good relatives would still snatch things from you, not caring about your life at all.
When Hsing Nuannuan returned home, she was already exhausted. On the way up the mountain, she bought another bottle of water to drink. It seemed that she would have to bring water when she went out in the future.
When Hsing Nuannuan returned home, she found that someone had moved the door. Fortunately, she locked it, so that person probably didn't go in.
When Hsing Nuannuan opened the door, she found that Big Yellow was standing at the doorway, wagging his tail and looking at her.
"Big Yellow, did someone move our door today?" Hsing Nuannuan looked at Big Yellow, who nodded vigorously.
Hsing Nuannuan narrowed her eyes. Could it be that it was Zheng Jun again? He had come to cause trouble again and again. It seemed that he was trying to make her die.
Hsing Nuannuan stuck the door shut and found a wooden stick to support herself. She had to be careful.
Looking at the sun, it was already past eleven. She carried the basket back to the house and laid the blanket on the bed. She then placed the blanket on the cabinet next to her. She looked at the cabinet, which also needed a lock. She locked the blanket inside every day to prevent her relatives from snatching the things from her.
She had never seen a lock on the door of the small shop, so she was very depressed. The door was definitely not meant to be locked, so she had to lock the cabinet. She didn't want to wash the sink every day.
Hsing Nuannuan opened the system and checked the time. It was already half past eleven. She looked at the things in her hands. There was a bun and a vegetable pancake in her backpack, but she didn't want to eat them. She bought four buns and two egg soups, then divided them with Big Yellow. Half of the buns were for Big Yellow and the other half was for herself.
Big Yellow was very happy. He ate the buns while biting them. This time, Hsing Nuannuan bought the buns twice. She was afraid that the buns would be all vegetarian, so she and Big Yellow were both meat and vegetables.
After dinner, Hsing Nuannuan went to the brick bed and looked at the blanket. It was really not meant to be used, but she decided to give it to Big Yellow. She folded the blanket and placed it in Big Yellow's hole.
Big Yellow shook his tail excitedly. He felt that it was right for him to leave his home. This home needed him, and it was also kind to him.
Hsing Nuannuan was finally able to relax and write. Her efficiency today was much better. In just two hours, she had already written ten thousand words. She stopped and took a break.
Just as Hsing Nuannuan was about to stroll around the courtyard, she suddenly heard Goudan's voice from afar, "Warm! Warm!"
Hsing Nuannuan hurriedly opened the door and saw Goudan running to the side of the road. Seeing the sweat on his forehead, she hurriedly brought him a bottle of water. When he came running over, she quickly handed it to him.
"What's the matter?" If there was nothing else, he wouldn't be running so fast.
Goudan took the bottle and drank the water. "Nuannuan, after you left today, your auntie came looking for you. I heard from the coachman that your auntie seemed to have an idea and wanted to sell you off. When we were on the bus, the orchid girl also said that there was a family in town looking for a child bride. It seemed to be two hundred yuan. That family had a silly son, so you had to be careful. If your auntie comes looking for you, don't open the door."
Goudan looked at the bottle in his hand. His mother had taken the bottle back home. It was said that it was for his cousin. His cousin was currently in school and needed water.
"If you like this bottle, I'll give it to you. I picked it up today," Hsing Nuannuan said with a smile.
"Wow, Nuannuan, you're so lucky. Oh, right, there's one more thing. Uncle said that no one would want you because of your grandmother and the others. He said that if you're fine, you'd better get your own household register. That way, they won't be able to do anything to you." With that, Goudan went into the yard and fetched a bottle of water from the sink. He waved his hand and ran off. He had just gotten out of the car and was already running back home.
"Alright!" After sending Goudan off, Hsing Nuannuan's face darkened. It seemed that the group of rich relatives were going to cause trouble again. Thinking of this, she locked the door and ran down the mountain. She had to get her household register now, or else she was afraid that the rich aunt would sell her out.
Hsing Nuannuan didn't have time to waste. She took out another bottle of water. Actually, the water was secondary. The key was the bottle. The villagers were poor, and they didn't even have a kettle to hold water. If they had the money, they would have taken the infusion bottle and poured some water. However, they didn't have much.
Hsing Nuannuan ran to the village chief's house. The village chief's wife was eating. Hsing Nuannuan ran in. "Auntie!"
"Nuannuan, what's wrong?" The village chief's wife saw that Nuannuan was running so fast, so she quickly asked. Hsing Nuannuan was the only one left in the village. The kind-hearted women in the village cared a lot about her.
"Auntie, where is the grandpa? I want to get my household registration certificate." Hsing Nuannuan quickly said.
"Why are you in such a hurry? You are the only one on the household register. What's the point of taking it away?" The village chief's wife frowned.
"Auntie, I heard that my auntie wants to sell me. I think it's better for me to take the household registration certificate," Hsing Nuannuan said. She could tell that the village chief's wife was kind-hearted.
The village chief's wife frowned. "They won't do anything to you. Just you wait. I'll give it to you."
Soon, the village chief's wife took out the household registration certificate. There was only one piece of paper on it, and Hsing Nuannuan was the only one on it.
"Thank you, Auntie. This bottle is for you to drink water." Hsing Nuannuan handed the bottle to the village chief's wife, then turned around and ran.
"Sigh, Nuannuan... This girl." The village chief's wife looked down at the bottle in her hand. It looked quite nice, like a wine bottle, but the lid could be twisted. It was even more useful than a transfusion bottle.
Seeing that it was filled with water, the village chief's wife took a sip. It was not bad. It seemed that this bottle could be used by her daughter. As for her son, the village chief's wife sighed. Her son was a fool. If she gave it to him, she was afraid that he would cut his own hand.
"Mom, what are you holding?" The village chief's daughter, Yuqin, came back.
“This is a bottle of water, just nice for you. You can use it when you go to school,” the village chief’s wife said with a smile.
“Wow, it’s so pretty. It’s better than a transfusion bottle.” Yuqin excitedly went to put the bottle of water. The others in the school didn’t have it. The more she looked at it, the more she liked it. She had to put it properly and not let her brother steal it.
